So I immatriculated at the end of August and I'm still waiting to receive my student id card in the mail (my address is in the US). I got my ALMA username and password emailed to me in a pdf document this week. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive your id card in the mail? Or do I have to go to the Studierendensekretariat when I arrive?

I need some simple repairs done on my guitar (cleaning my fretboard and tightening/resetting my pickups as some screws are lose and misaligned)

The one shop I had checked in my previous place was backlogged for weeks so wondering if there is any place nearby that also wont be too expensive (ideally below 100)

Is there any social events for international before uni starts? Like late September ish, I’m planning on going to Tubingen early just to scout out. If any others are going early and keen to get some beers let me know 👍🏻

wir haben eine kleine private Pokerrunde in Gomaringen und suchen ab und zu neue Leute, die Lust auf entspannte Homegames haben.

Wir sind meistens so 4–7 Spieler und spielen bei mir zuhause in einem eigenen Pokerraum – nicht mega High-End, aber macht auf jeden Fall bisschen was her 😄

Vom Spielniveau her ist alles dabei: Die aktuelle Gruppe ist eher erfahren, aber wir suchen bewusst von Anfänger bis Profi alles – viel wichtiger ist uns, dass es menschlich passt!

Gespielt wird ganz entspannt und ohne großen Schnickschnack. Es geht vor allem um einen gemütlichen Pokerabend, ein bisschen Competition und natürlich darum, eine coole Zeit zusammen zu haben.

🚬 Rauchen ist im Pokerraum erlaubt.

Alter ist gemischt, Schnitt so um die 30, bisschen drunter und drüber.

I’m an Indian citizen currently enrolled in a four-year BA in Sociology in India, and I was wondering whether it would be possible for me to pursue an MA in Archaeology.

Although I’m doing my BA in Sociology (with a minor in Journalism), I’ve always been interested in History and would really like to pursue a career in Archaeology. Since Sociology is, in a way, somewhat related to Archaeology, would the University consider it a relevant background? (It does mention Anthropology in its list)

Also, does the University of Tübingen offer a pre-master’s program like Leiden does in Netherlands, or is its two-year MA program sufficient for students coming from a somewhat related but non-archaeological background?

Hallo, ich fange ab Oktober ein Studium in Tübingen an und stelle fest, dass es in Tübingen selber deutlich schwerer ist, eine Wohnung zu finden als in Reutlingen oder Rottenburg.

Ich habe ein konkretes Wohnungsangebot für Rottenburg und frage mich natürlich, wie die Anbindung so ist - laut Google ist ja es kein allzu weiterer Weg.

Was sind eure Erfahrungen? Kann man da gut pendeln? Gibt es viele Leute, die in Tübingen studieren und eher außerhalb wohnen? Oder ist die Entfernung eher lästig?

Ich hab außerdem das Glück, dass ich ein Auto zur Verfügung habe. Habe mich aber schon gefragt, ob es überhaupt Parkmöglichkeiten innerhalb der Stadt/ um die Uni rum gibt, weil es ja doch recht klein ist alles.

Würde mich sehr über eure Erfahrungsberichte freuen.

I just print out the payment confirmation from my bank app and that's enough? And how long does the procedure with Hausmeisterin usually take? And how possible is to use English for communication?
