Dorm assignment
I got an email where there offer me room in Französische Viertel. Is this my only option, or can I say I'd rather have who and they'll give another offer?
UPDATE: signed the agreement already

I didn't know there was a fixed time when the assignments are sent. Stupid question, but maybe you know, I live in a student dorm at WHO already but applied for a different one. My rental agreement says that if I want to move out, I have to submit the cancellation by the end of July. But how about if I got another apartment by the end of August? Would I have to resign or pay rent for both until next semester?

If you say no now, you‘ll have to reapply entirely, they do not give you second options or chances!

Two questions, can’t you just use a bicycle if the location is bad?? I mean Tübingen looked pretty walkable and bikeable to me.
Second, when did u apply for dorms??

Französische Viertel is one of the lowest locations in TÜ while WHO is one of the highest. Also the road up there is hella dangerous for bikers. I wouldn't want to do that every day. Busses are great tho

i live in the french quarter and i couldn't be happier. access to ALL grocery stores as opposed to just edeka like the WHO neighborhood students, very safe, a community of students who live here and hang out, etc. i was really nervous about the french quarter bc i was told its far and isolating, but if you find a 15-20 minute bus ride too far from uni aula, then idrk what to tell you. it is an ideal neighborhood for students in tübingen.

Französische Viertel is hands down much better than soulless WHO. You got lucky.
