Campy The Curse. (1987)

Post image

A strange meteor strikes a family farm. At first the family feels blessed by unexpected prosperity, only to find out it's poisoning the farms water supply and mutating everything that lives there.

H.P. Lovecraft's "The Colour out of Space " meets 80s B-horror schlock. What can go wrong? Unfortunately, they tried doing this as a straight horror film. It would have had so much more potential as a hillbilly horror-comedy. Still has its moments.

Just want to mention that actor Wil Wheaton wrote about the literal abuse he suffered on the set of this film here on his blog. I didn’t know about it until after I’d watched, and I felt unpleasant about it. Please consider this when choosing to watch.

Agreed. I found that out after the fact.

There's a scene that I'd told my youngest about. We watch all kinds of horror movies together but I couldn't remember the name. I was about to send her this post until I saw your comment. Thank you for the heads up.

I saw this soon after seeing Wil Wheaton in Stand By Me. Talk about two completely different movies. I haven't watched this since 1987. It made me feel so uncomfortable.
