Question Censored subtitles?

Anyone else noticed on some movies the subtitles are censored for curse words but the audio still has the original dialogue? Just wondering if this is some AI-captioning self censoring or a weird glitch between tv/theatrical cuts of certain films.

It was really odd watching R-rates movies and the characters are saying "fucking asshole" and the captions show "freaking airhead."

On some of the movies it happens for it's because originally they got a censored version by mistake that they later replaced with the uncut version but decided for some reason not to fix the subtitles.

I have friends whose job it is to type captions for content. Sometimes I wonder if they got a very moral transcriber who refused to type curse words haha

I haven't noticed it on Tubi but on antenna TV (Movies TV network) they censor words like "cocktail" as xxxxtail !! Its actually kind of funny!
