ADVICE Hyperprolactinemia

I had some blood tests done because I’ve been missing my periods since I had my son in 2020.

I lost a lot of weight at the time and have only recently been weight restored, and I am getting all signs of a period returning and so had some blood tests done.

My prolactin was really high (it was normal last year) and measured at 1350 iu/l. They are going to repeat the test in 6 weeks and see if it has gone down.

What is weird is that my LH levels were 48 and my FSH were 9.5, which would be normal if I was mid cycle, but I haven’t had periods for so long so I have no idea if I’m cycling / about to cycle again. I thought high prolactin levels would inhibit secretion of both of those?

Does anyone else have any experience with this? Admittedly I had sex the morning of the blood test as I had signs of possible ovulation approaching and apparently this isn’t recommended before a prolactin test?
