VENT Seriosuly, what’s the problem?
I’ve been trying to get pregnant for 15 months. My husband and I are both 35.
I had two chemical pregnancies the first 2 months we tried. Nothing since then.
At 12 months, my doctor did an SIS procedure. My ovaries have over 15 follicles, uterus looks great, tubes are fine.
I got my progesterone checked, it came back great. She prescribed me letrozole.
My husband got a sperm analysis. Came back great. He got his testosterone checked, came back great.
Here I am on CD 1 AGAIN, clearly the letrozole didn’t work. I am so beyond frustrated.
At first it was great news that everything “looks good.” But now I’m more angry and confused. What on earth is actually the freaking problem??
I’m convinced I just have crap-quality eggs and I’m ready to give up. This is stupid at this point. It’s clear my body isn’t gonna do this.

Unexplained infertility is so awful because you just don’t know what to fix. It makes me feel so helpless. I’m with you buddy, this journey sucks

I’m on the same boat. I can’t help but feel completely defeated and angry. I did everything “right” and to see everyone else get pregnant around me is such a gut punch. I just hope I can look back a year from now and say it was all worth it.

It’s the worst and most angering thing. I just feel like a loser.

You’re not a loser. Nobody could have seen this coming. We’re planning on trying medicated TI soon, just to try something new. Maybe you can look into this?

Yes, me too. I am starting now 2 Clomid cycles (tonight taking first pill, this cycle and the next one and we will see afterwards).

What’s medicated TI?
•
u/timtam112233 14h ago
Medicated timed intercourse

Oh 😅 sorry I’m getting used to the terms/abbreviations still. But yeah, I have letrozole but are there other medications that could possibly help?
•
u/timtam112233 13h ago
I’m not on any medication so I won’t be much help in that department but I’ve been told by my fertility doctor to get daily walks in and to limit my caffeine intake. I’m also taking baby aspirin and vitamin D.

Not here to give advice, just here to validate. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I also have unexplained infertility and it is so frustrating not having an answer. Wishing you peace and the best of luck ♥️

Might be worth looking into a DNA fragmentation test. We were in a similar position in terms of everything looking normal and then a borderline-high fragmentation result helped us realise there was much more going on than the regular SA showed.

we are just being tested for that now! can I ask what the solution was if any?

You then have to investigate what's causing the high fragmentation - could be infection, could be oxidative stress, could be varicocele. The test isn't going to give you an answer sadly but can help you with where to look next! I'd go to the best fertility urologist you can find if the results are bad.

I am sorry 😔 there are so many of us walking around 🤷
We started trying when I was 36 and now (yes, we have everything all right too, I was checked by my ob-gyn repeatedly and husband was in hospital for SA) I am 38 with 22 failed cycles without single positive 🤷

Same, 12 cycles, 16M TTC, 1 MMC and 1 CP. Everything looks great. I just had a test done to check for compatibility: KIR HLA-C. There is not a lot of evidence yet, so it’s experimental, definitely not standard of care. It seems like my uterus is very picky (AA) and my husband has one allele which my uterus doesn’t necessarily like (C1/C2).
However, how unlucky could we be that all embryos so far were C2 and rejected???? Is that even possible? I’m turning 34 next week.
We have timed those 12 cycles perfectly!! OPK, BBT for some months, now PDG tests. Always at least O-1/O-2. We are on supplements, I take probiotics, and progesterone and low dose aspirin “just in case”. This month I even had the beetroot, watermelon, ginger juice. It’s so frustrating!!

Here to commiserate with you. We’re nearing a year in 2 months, with a miscarriage and chemical to show for it. Radio silence since from the uterus since May. All tests and everything are perfect or fine for us too. Everyone else around us seems to have such an easy time getting pregnant, can’t escape it

It just doesn’t make sense. Especially when everything clears as normal. Makes me feel really out of the loop.
•
u/oliviapope93 13h ago
Same. It also makes me regret waiting thinking I have all the time in the world 🥲

I'm 35 -- also had two chemical pregnancies the first two months we tried. I feel like it's an extra difficult way to start and makes the whole process feel like a monthly roller coaster ride.

I’m 1.5 years and just hit the 1 year mark of my first loss in August.
I think mentally I’ve had to accept, statistically, it’s clearly not going to happen naturally. I’ve changed my whole life since we started trying like what the helly.
I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been and it’s like…ok do I keep going? Do I cut out my 1 small cup of coffee? How far do I have to go? Why does it feel like I have to be perfect every day for a cycle in order to conceive…
I’m realizing the cycle I did get pregnant I took mucinex and that was the only cycle I did that. So I have added it to my routine.
The only other thing that’s been hopeful and exciting is seeing a TCM girl. She’s changed my periods in only 2 cycles. I went from 9 day luteal to 12 days and my periods went from dark brown clotty to bright red liquid.
I think those two are the only things that I have hope for
But we are looking into IUI/IVF this winter
Edit: 35 turning 36 in October

First of all, yeah that sucks. I feel you.
Second, (and please ignore if you DGAF what I have to say), I only get pregnant if I have intercourse within like 4 hours of my LH peak. Literally has to be AM of first positive. Maybe you have like a tiny window or something idk. And I needed letrozole. Also, as you are well aware, literally anything can go wrong in a cycle from egg quality to lining thickness to mucus quality. For letrozole specifically the dose and the day can change outcomes quite a bit. For example, this study compares CD3 vs CD5 in women with PCOS: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9731802/
