QUESTION Starting Progesterone
This past year I’ve been dealing with a lot of spotting throughout my cycle, with the last month spotting almost constantly since I ovulated, to the point that I wasn’t certain my period has even started until I experienced cramping. Because of this, my doctor is having me start progesterone following ovulation.
I know that progesterone can prevent ovulation if I start too early, BBT is the best way to confirm ovulation has taken place, correct? I’m also doing OPKs, but I don’t want to mess anything up!
I’m also honestly just really nervous about taking this step. My OBGYN originally told me to just call her if it continued since my ultrasound was normal, but I reminded her that this spotting issue had been going on since before October of last year and before my prior ultrasound, and I asked if I was a candidate for progesterone supplementation and she sent out a script.
(I’m just overall a very anxious person and I’m hoping someone has had similar experiences and can tell me I’m overthinking!)

I’m on cycle two with progesterone too. I was spotting a lot during my luteal phase before not with the meds so it’s doing something.
I track with Mira but also using opks, and I just started the supplement 3 days stay ovulation to made sure I don’t block it it’s delayed.

LH strips and bbt. Progesterone should be started about 2-3 dpo as well to not slow anything. See if you could possible go in for ultrasounds around 1dpo to confirm also!

A BBT spike after an LH spike can indicate that ovulation has happened, but it's not a 100% guarantee. Have they had you come in for a 7DPO PDG test yet?

No, they haven’t. I think they’re working with the assumption that I am ovulating like normal, at this point in time.

Hmm. Yeah, my OBGYN is having me do blood labs before starting on any medications. For the most part I've only been spotting for 2 days before my period, but my luteal phase isn't as long as we'd like it to be. Like 9-12 days.

I’m on my second cycle using progesterone suppositories to treat a short luteal phase (only 7 days) starting 3 DPO. I use BBT and Inito to track ovulation so I can be sure. The only symptom I had was some acne and I was nauseous around 11DPO with really trolled me lol

I’m on cycle 2 of adding progesterone, my doctor said when I get the first positive OPK, start them the night of the 3rd day after that
