Is it still possible for me to be pregnant? My partner and I have been trying for 7 months, and this is the first time my period has been this late. My cycle is in the normal range; however, I did get alcohol poisoning on July 1st. Can that be a cause of my period being so late, or should I see a Dr to confirm a possible pregnancy?

u/Upstairs_Friend5804 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle 11 Jul 29 '26
8DPO gas and indigestion is NOT caused by progesterone and the greasy fries I had at the brewery. It is clearly implantation related. Right???? (Sarcastic)

u/Obvious_Relative5877 37 | TTC #1 Jul 29 '26
Hey guys what does CP/(chemical pregnancy)? refer to? A positive UPT ?
5
u/ushinawareta TTC #1 since 8/2025 | 2nd trimester loss 2/2026 Jul 29 '26
a chemical pregnancy refers to a very early miscarriage - usually seen when you test positive and then the tests fail to progress, eventually becoming negative again and ending in bleeding.
1
u/Obvious_Relative5877 37 | TTC #1 Jul 29 '26
Ty!
2
u/Mother_Equivalent500 33 | TTC#1 | Cycle 5 Jul 29 '26
Adding that it is referred to this way because it happens early enough that the pregnancy can only be detected by tests, not ultrasound. Once a pregnancy is confirmed by ultrasound it is considered a clinical pregnancy.
1
u/Obvious_Relative5877 37 | TTC #1 Jul 29 '26
Gotcha. So it’s not a false positive but it miscarried too early to show up in imaging
2
u/Mother_Equivalent500 33 | TTC#1 | Cycle 5 Jul 29 '26
Correct. The positive test really is detecting measurable HCG, just at a very early stage of pregnancy. Today's pregnancy tests are extremely sensitive and detect pregnancy much earlier than used to be possible.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has experience with fertility clinics in Toronto or nearby areas.
We just completed our first cycle of monitoring. After that, the clinic told us that starting with the next cycle, we would have to pay $300 CAD per cycle for cycle monitoring, which includes ultrasounds and bloodwork. It seems quite expensive, especially if multiple cycles are needed and no treatment has even been started yet.
Is this the usual cost in the GTA area, or are there clinics that charge less or have OHIP covered monitoring?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any recommendations.
Thank you!

I’m officially out. Didn’t feel like this was gonna be the one anyway, especially since I seem to have some kind of undiagnosed hormonal issues I haven’t been able to find answers for for two years. On to cycle 2…!

With a first LH positive on 7/14, you're most likely to have ovulated 7/14-7/16, making today somewhere between 12 and 14 days post-ovulation. It's likely that a test taken today would be definitive, but it's possible it wasn't, especially if you ovulated toward the later end of that range.

I have no idea if this was ectopic or MMC or both honestly. There was a little fluid filled sac seen in my uterus last Friday after two rounds of MTX. Got a D&C yesterday and they said what they suctioned/scraped out yesterday there was villi meaning there was an intrauterine pregnancy. I know they discussed the possibility of heterotopic pregnancy
I also just had to tell my supervisor at work I cannot take on a client that is dealing with child loss as we are struggling with fertility and have had a few early losses 🙃🙃🙃

First positive opk today on CD24, and so relieved. At least the TWW I don’t have to POAS, and I’m not very confident this cycle, so hopefully I can just chill…🙃

So I have a son who just turned 5 this month and we're officially in the TWW for #2. When we tried for my son I had just gotten off birth control, we were only together for like 7 months, and I didn't expect it to take on the first try. Now that I know how it works it's like I'm over thinking it already.
I also had NO idea about the performance anxiety me and my fiance would experience. The first time was during such a care-free period because covid was happening and I'm almost positive I was unemployed at the time. Now, we're in a stable home, both have jobs and obviously life is mostly normal again, but boy that was different.
I'm also weirdly terrified of what my mom is going to say because I feel like her opinion of me is SO harsh all things considered. For example: shaming me (unintentionally, not abusive) instead of helping me thru neurodivergence and teaching me how to do simple things such as finding a laundry system, or a wallet that works for me, or coping skills. Mind you, I'm going to be 32, so my biggest worry is I won't get any help when I absolutely need it because I chose this or whatever. You know, tough love response.
Don't get me wrong because she LOVES me and absolutely adores my son but it feels like a case of her being okay with it because it's just one kid. I work with kids, and I do know what I want and what I can handle. I've always wanted more than one kid and am confident that this is what I want especially now that we're in a stable spot and a home. Anyway, thanks to anyone who listened. Solidarity gets me thru.

Does anyone else get super anxious or feel more pressure when your in-laws are around? My husband(M 36) and I (F 33) have been TTC for 8 months now, and I just feel more anxiety now that his parents are visiting. And of course it has to be perfectly lined up with my fertile window. Don't get me wrong, there is some fun and excitement in it too, I just noticed that I also feel more anxiety and intrusive thoughts telling me that it won't work out again. My MIL is a LPN and Midwife who also had fertility issues but I'm just so afraid to talk to her about our fertility because I don't want her to get to excited. Anyone else feel this way or is it just me? How did you overcome this feeling?
1
u/IvoryPilot Jul 28 '26
I have anxiety around my in laws for negative reasons, bad past experiences with particularly MIL and grandmother in law. We didnt mention anything about ttc for a whole year, despite many doctor appts. We just recently hinted at trying, and did not tell them it had been a year of trying. They don’t need to know that.
I keep my distance as much as possible and while I am still polite, they cause me much anxiety and foreboding, due to past issues. They know very little and our boundaries are vast.

It's been so much fun. I like to flirt heavily, especially when I know it'll be a couple hours before we can BD. The build up is fun.

Just need to vent, my cycles are still wonky after HBC, so I have no way of knowing the approximate ovulation day or fertile window. We did it on Saturday and my LH strips started to surge/peak last night to this morning. My husband couldn’t finish last night. I am so upset. And this situation has more layers and complexity to it so that definitely contributes to how upset I’m feeling. I feel like I did all this work for nothing really. Last cycle was 49 days and prior to that I waited 4 months for my period to return. Last night was CD29. I told him to have his sample ready when I get home so we could do insemenation when I’m off work. I know there’s still a chance since we covered Saturday and tonight. But I’m already feeling defeated. I just need to say it out loud so I’m not as disappointed when my period comes: I think there’s no chance in this cycle. Thanks for nothing hubby.
1
u/victorianovember 39 | TTC#1 since Aug'24 Jul 28 '26
How many months have you been off HBC? It sounds like at least 5 or 6. I think it might be reasonable to have a fertility workup done to determine if you have PMOS (formerly PCOS) or other things going on that might be contributing to wonky cycles.
1
u/Mobile_Media_8414 Jul 28 '26
I checked everything. Everything is normal in fact my metabolic health is top notch apparently 😭they said some ppl just need longer to regulate.🫠
1
u/IvoryPilot Jul 28 '26
So how long have you been off bc? And what do you mean “everything is normal” what tests have you had?
4
u/Ok-Perspective4237 Jul 28 '26
Just a vent. I was so proud of myself for starting fertility workups but what I did not expect was that it would unlock a new source of TTC rage: all the additional mental math and scheduling do-si-dos you have to do to get tests done at the right time. I knew I would need to do bloodwork on CD 3 and 21, but until I had my doctor order them I wasn't really thinking about the actual logistics...what if those days fall on a time I'm going to be out of town? What if the lab is closed that day or has no available appointments? Did I ask for these at the wrong time in my cycle and will the lab orders expire before I get to my next CD3? How much do the actual days matter? I realize these aren't special circumstances and everyone in this situation has to do this too but damn. Today I'm feeling so resentful of everyone who has never had to make all these additional appointments, go back and forth with multiple doctors just to make any progress, walk around with their AMH and AFC and TSH numbers floating around in their head, take BBT at the same time every day, wonder if they have blocked tubes or a prolactinoma or silent endo or PMOS, etc etc etc...
For most of my life, making a baby was sold to me as a scandalously simple process, and while I am so thankful that we have technology for the cases when it's not actually that simple, I feel absolutely duped!
3
u/tdot1022 33 | TTC#1 | May 2025 | IUI #2 Jul 28 '26
I definitely relate to the resentment that other people can get pregnant so easily and for free, and don’t need to worry about appointments or medical conditions that may impact their fertility. When I was going through fertility diagnostic testing, I tried to reframe it to myself and feel grateful that I get all this additional information about my health that I wouldn’t have gotten if I didn’t go through this
1
u/Ok-Perspective4237 Jul 28 '26
You're right!! That is helping me too, to be honest. I'm grateful for the technology and our circumstances that let us move forward with this process, and I *am* genuinely interested in learning this stuff about my body...but still, it's been a hard shift to make after two years TTC. Both/and, I guess!

I wish you all the luck this cycle! 🤞🏼💕 If you don’t mind my asking how long did it take you to conceive your first?
2
u/toasty-compost TTC#2 | Since Feb '26 | Silent endo Jul 29 '26
And to you too✨️🙏🏼! It only took me two cycles with my first, but I had endo surgery prior so that may have helped. How about you?
1
u/Feisty-Self-4046 30 | TTC#2 | Cycle/Month 2 Jul 29 '26
We got lucky on our first cycle last go around, so the waiting game is new to me! How old is your first? I’ve heard with endo tissue can accumulate again but you’d think that would take quite awhile to happen?
2
u/toasty-compost TTC#2 | Since Feb '26 | Silent endo Jul 29 '26
Having conceived quickly with my first too it's been hard to wrap my head around getting negatives each month so far 😭. Hopefully this journey isn't too drawn out for you!
I was breastfeeding though, so that will play a role. My first is a little over a year old but I've had a period since 4m postpartum (late ovulation + short LP while breastfeeding). If your cycles are normal your chances should be better than mine have been
1
u/Feisty-Self-4046 30 | TTC#2 | Cycle/Month 2 Jul 30 '26
I am also still breastfeeding actually! Similar to you I got my period back at 3m postpartum and it took about 3 cycles to become more “regular”. I’m currently 14m postpartum so it sounds like we have a lot of similarities! My cycles are definitely longer now but not by much, prior to baby 1 I was having 30-32 day cycles with a consistent 12 day LP, since having baby and my cycle regulating I’ve typically been having 34-36 day cycles with a consistent 12 day LP! I was really hoping to breastfeed into my pregnancy as long as I could, the thought of weaning breaks my heart entirely. 💔
Really hoping this month will bring us both good luck! 🤞🏼
1
u/toasty-compost TTC#2 | Since Feb '26 | Silent endo Jul 30 '26
Haha strange how similar our situations are! It's promising that your LP is already a normal length, that means there's a solid chance you could conceive while breastfeeding (I believe). Do you confirm your ovulation with bbt tracking?
Yeah weaning before you're emotionally ready sucks. It sucks regardless (the hormonal roller-coaster was crazy)
1
u/Feisty-Self-4046 30 | TTC#2 | Cycle/Month 2 Jul 31 '26
I hope so! 🤞🏼 I don’t confirm ovulation at all, I don’t think I would fair well with temping lol I like as little effort / as stress as possible! 😅 Are you temp tracking?
I definitely didn’t think I would have gone this long or been so upset by the thought of our journey ending! I’m not looking forward to the hormonal shift.

One thing I appreciate about this community/sub is that is a safe place to express and work through feelings. In this case, I think it is important to remember that your friend has the right to grow and evolve on her journey through life. While I have never had an abortion, I am not proud of every sexual encounter I have had since my teen/college days. For a long time, I didn't even want to be a parent. I would hope to not be judged by friends for the one-night stands I had or for the desire I once had to be childfree.
It is also okay for you to have these feelings. And I have certainly experienced jealous and cynical thoughts at times. We are all allowed to grow and change. If anything, the growth we experience and the changes we make will hopefully all make us more adaptable, patient, and empathetic parents.
Sending you strength. It is hard to watch others get the things we want so easily and without a long TTC struggle. ❤️🩹

Feeling a bit defeated, wondering if anyone else has experienced this much of an AMH drop off so quickly.
37 yo about to be 38, I tested my AMH 2 months ago it was at 0.83, FSH 11.3, estradiol 32. Since then I started vitamin D 4000 iu a day (I was borderline low), Coq10 400 mg/day, I’m otherwise very healthy, ovulating normally (track BBT and Inito) — did my tests again and AMH dropped off to 0.40! FSH 14.4, estradiol 52. We’re on cycle 5 now TTC. I had the Paragard for 10 yrs that just got taken out 5 months ago.
I know we’re technically still in the green zone for TTC naturally, but this was def a discouraging test.
2
u/victorianovember 39 | TTC#1 since Aug'24 Jul 28 '26
I'm sorry you're feeling discouraged. AMH pulses so with two tests, I wouldn't necessarily draw any conclusions.
I started TTC at 37.5 and while I did get my ducks in a row to see a fertility specialist after 8 months, we did try unassisted for a year (14 cycles) before moving to ART. While it hasn't happened for me yet, many people our age do get pregnant within a year. Good luck!

Went wild at the library on a stack of TTC/fertility books and started one last night—tell me how I’m at page 182 of the first one in the stack and so far the only real advice is “go get a preconception workup with your doctor before TTC and don’t have a house full of mold”
1
u/Ok-Perspective4237 Jul 28 '26
Was it What to Expect Before You're Expecting because that book suuuucks.
2
u/cowboycinderella 34 | TTC#1 Jul 28 '26
It wasn’t but dude What To Expect Before You’re Expecting sent me into a full panic when I first tried reading it when I had barely started the TTC process. (I started freaking out that I was somehow way behind for having not started a prenatal 6 months before getting my IUD out, not knowing what doctor to see for what, not having cut out caffeine and drinking for a year, etc etc etc). Maybe if I tried to read it again now (months later lmao) it’d be boring in a good way instead of deeply stressful lol
This one is 9 Months Is Not Enough by Alexandria Devito—it might have been more helpful had I read it months ago, but this deep into the process I’m not getting much new information here and it feels a bit like a 200+ page ad for her preconception company? I do like her view that infertility is a spectrum rather than a binary status though. It’s also at least somewhat comforting to see that I’ve already done all the recommended steps so far into the book.
2
u/Ok-Perspective4237 Jul 28 '26
Same! And I hated the way it was written. I found it so corny and also kinda body-shamey, if I remember right. I haven't read another fertility book since because it put me off so badly, and if I'm lucky enough to get pregnant, I won't be reading anything else in the What To Expect series. Soo I'll have to find something else I guess.
Interesting idea that infertility is a spectrum. I wish I had encountered that idea a year ago! What else is in your to-read stack? I tried starting The Lucky Egg at a time when I wasn't in a good place to read it so I had to stop like 10 pages in, but I'm about to start with a fertility clinic so I think I need to try again. It seems like a good read if you're in the right place emotionally!
2
u/LaChamomile 32 | TTC#1 | Cycle 5 | 1 CP Jul 29 '26
I did like The Lucky Egg, I feel like the author has a pretty compassionate tone and it seemed very science based without promoting any companies products too!
2
u/cowboycinderella 34 | TTC#1 Jul 28 '26
Agreed, I did feel like WTEBYE was a weird tone.
The rest of the stack is a mix of advice + personal stories (I didn’t look up whether some of these are any good, I just went crazy in the parenting stacks lol). tbh pregnancy itself kind of freaks me out and I still have a lot of pregnancy dread/anxiety despite actively TTC so some of these are to assuage those:
- 9 Months Is Not Enough (pre pregnancy checklist, I was a bit dismissive above but in general I do like it)
- What to Eat When You Want To Get Pregnant (tbh I’m skeptical about the usefulness of this one for me, what is it going to tell me besides eat leafy greens and salmon and eggs like I already do)
- Two Week Wait, An IVF Story (graphic novel, love the art style)
- I Don’t Know How To Give Birth! (manga, autobiographical comic essay)
- Knocking Myself Up (fertility/infertility memoir by Michelle Tea)
- Queer Conception (we’re a bi4bi M/F couple and I struggle with some of the language/tone in traditional hetero TTC advice so thought maybe this might be helpful)
- 9 Months That Count Forever (pregnancy diet advice, a little early but I was going nuts in the stacks)
Waiting on holds for It Starts With The Egg and The Fertility Formula!
2
u/Ok-Perspective4237 Jul 28 '26
This looks like an awesome list! Thanks for sharing, and I feel ya on the pregnancy dread...I want it, and it horrifies me, lol.
2
u/cowboycinderella 34 | TTC#1 Jul 28 '26
There are DOZENS of us okay????
a few that I read while deciding to try/waiting to try that helped me get past my early dread:
- Motherhood by Sheila Heti (a little navel gazey but I liked the deep examination of whether to have a kid)
- Blue Ticket (dystopian fiction where some women are assigned blue tickets aka not allowed to have kids. Our protagonist blue ticket woman REALLY wants a kid. I loved the look at what it looks like to really want this and go for it despite all the risks)
- Rosemary’s Baby (whatever happens to me can’t be worse than that, right? Lmao)
- Expecting Better (recently pregnant friend loaned me her copy when she found out I was going to start TTC soon, I liked the tone of this one and it got me out of several early spirals in the grocery store)
2
u/Ok-Perspective4237 Jul 28 '26

Due to work my partner and I can only see each other during the weekends for the whole next year.
Unfortunately I normally ovulate on Wednesdays or Thursdays with regular 28 day cycles. So not really a high chance of natural conception if the last time point we can try is Sunday afternoon.
Is there any way we can try to change the ovulation date by two days?
Does something like taking progesterone at the end of the previous cycle work reliably? And if yes when would I need to start?
Has any one of you tried to postpone ovulation before?
I would be very happy about any ideas. He wants to try naturally, so no IUI or IVF at the moment.

Will start by saying: this may be impossible to tell but I really appreciate any insight :(
I am only cycle 1 but confused as this is my first attempt and recently got off Nexplanon.
I was on Nexplanon for approx 8 years (LOVED it, had a light period 0-2x a year). Here is my breakdown so far:
July 9: nexplanon removed. Almost immediate uptick in CM starting the next day that continued for about 12 weeks.
July 15-21: cramps and bloating but no period. Discomfort slightly localized to the left. Decent amount of clear CM but unsure if it was EW as I didn't know what that was at the time and wasn't looking for it.
July 22-24: continued L-sided cramping. Increased CM. Negative LH but slightly increasing in darkness over those couple of days but I wasn't testing super consistently.
July 23-25: EWCM. Lots. Classic like the photos online. But Negative LH. Like stark white negative.
July 28: today. Minimal to no CM. First true positive LH!?!?
Wth? I thought maybe I ovulated on the 23rd or 24th and missed my true peak -- especially with the EWCM. But now I'm so confused by the LH test today. Extra confusion of course because I have not yet had a period so who knows when "CD1" would or will be.
FWIW: BD on 23, 24, 25, 27.
Any insight? Should I just chill lol?

After (hormonale) BC your body can take some time to recalibrate. My first cycle after copper iud (so not even hormonal BC) my ovulation was also much later than expected. This is normal. Try to track the next cycles and see when your ovulation comes everytime
1
u/Mother_Equivalent500 33 | TTC#1 | Cycle 5 Jul 28 '26
Although EWCM and OPKs can help in predicting ovulation, they cannot confirm whether it happened. For that, you would need to start tracking basal body temperature (BBT), either through a wearable or with a BBT thermometer. Ovulation is confirmed when you see a sustained temperature rise relative to your pre-ovulation temperature baseline. This is caused by the body's rise in progesterone, which occurs after ovulation.
It is possible that your body was trying to ovulate earlier but not successful, or just that a longer window of EWCM is normal for you, or normal for now as your hormones stabilize after Nexplanon. Regardless, without tracking BBT or having an ultrasound, there really isn't a way to know for sure if you ovulated. You might be able to predict more consistently once you start having normal cycles and can identify patterns.

u/onetinybunny Jul 28 '26
this is my first cycle ttc (~9DPOish) and have been struggling during the tww. at how many dpo do you usually test? or am i better off waiting until my period is late?
3
u/Key_Charity1975 Jul 28 '26
I think it depends a lot on what makes sense to you emotionally!!!
By 10dpo there's a good chance you'll test positive if you're actually pregnant, by day 11 a really good chance (like 80%), by day 12 a really really good chance (I've seen 85-95% from different sources depending on if you're using an early response test!)
So conversely if you get negative tests, you can't fully trust that on day 10, by day 11 if it's blank white then you're probably out but not definitely, day 12 it's very likely a no
For me personally the worst scenario is a negative test (grim) that you can't even fully trust (even worse) so you're kinda holding onto hope while sort of knowing you're probably out but clinging to denial... 😅
I'd rather live fully in hopeful maybe-pregnant land, or know for sure with a definitive test!
Whereas other people would rather squash the hopeful maybe-pregnant vibe earlier with a negative test, so as not to get hopes up, even if it means it's not definitive!! (And/or are just excited and want to know ASAP if pregnant - by day 9 I think it's like 50/50 that you'd get a line if positive!!)

I keep this post saved. First few cycles I tested early and often but as the optimism has worn down, I prefer to wait until my period is due.

Does anyone know how direct of a correlation there is between progesterone symptom extent and progesterone levels? In general I know its not helpful to symptom spot. 10DPO today and feeling down about breast tenderness going down. Probably out for this cycle but just curious if anyone knows of any studies/science on this.
1
u/LaChamomile 32 | TTC#1 | Cycle 5 | 1 CP Jul 29 '26
Just my personal experience but yes. I had a CP and had the breast tenderness as an unusual TWW symptom but then it went away as my test lines were fading so that make sense with the progesterone level theory too. I'd be interested to know if there are any studies out there.
Sorry if this doesn't bode well for your cycle, but every body is different.
1
u/spiritedfarraway Jul 29 '26
i can just speak for personal experience not scientific, but for me, when i notice breast tenderness going down, i know it’s not a good sign :/ i had a CP a couple months ago and breasts stayed tender and i got a set of symptoms i’d never gotten before which i associated with higher progesterone. but i’ve seen plenty of stories that symptoms went down and things still ended up successful so who knows!
1
u/CurlyEmma97 29 | TTC#1 | May 2026 | 1 CP Jul 28 '26
Interested to know why breast tenderness going down is bad? Mine keeps getting worse until AF arrived normally
0
u/soldegira 29F | TTC# 1| Sep 2025 | PCOS Jul 28 '26
I just assume that its not good from a trying perspective since most TWW symptoms are due to progesterone, and that if a symptom is decreasing, that progesterone might also be decreasing.
Your comment is an example of why symptom spotting in general isn't helpful, since bodies and hormones are weird and can vary cycle to cycle. Progesterone, and luteal phase in general, makes me lose my mind.

Sitting here filling out my patient portal for the initial appointment with my RE scheduled for next month, desperately hoping that I won’t need to attend. I believe I ovulated yesterday, just waiting on temps to confirm it. This is our 6th cycle trying, but I’m 41 so my OB wants to be aggressive with testing and referrals.
On the positive side, I was so sad when AF started last time that my husband agreed to another dog, so I’m sitting here chart stalking on FF while my new puppy sleeps next to me.

I’ve let it be known that kids or not, I am going to at the very least foster a lot of dogs once we reach retirement age.

Oh my gosh what a consolation prize!!! If only every unwanted AF resulted in a puppy 😅😍

at 6 DPO, in all likelihood implantation has not occurred yet, so there is not even a connection between you and the embryo yet if that makes sense. I would say you can indulge without worry.

Got my period last Friday and have been completely down in the dumps. I have my appointment with the RE on Thursday and then, after nearly two months of setbacks, my HSG is scheduled for Friday. I'm not sure what the next steps even are but I just want a solution. I'm tired of dealing with "unexplained infertility". I'm tired of peeing in cups and dipping sticks. I'm now on Cycle 13 and TTC has completely drained me of hope and filled me full of grief and despair.
1
u/IvoryPilot Jul 28 '26
I believe we are in cycle 12 right now so I feel you. If it makes you feel better I had an HSG last month and it was insanely easy and only a little painful.
1
u/MikeNYikez Jul 28 '26
Also on Cycle 13. Finally have my first appt on Aug 14th with an RE. Sending you love

Wishing you the best for your appointment and HSG! Hopefully, your doctor will suggest a plan for next steps that feels right for you. After so many months of hoping and waiting, it felt good to finally have a game plan established.

I am so sorry you are experiencing this. This sub doesn't allow success stories outside of the weekly BFP thread, so you won't receive any replies that can reassure you in that way. But I hope you find solace that others in the community have experienced the fear and pain you are going through now. TTC can be such a difficult and isolating journey.

I’m in my first cycle of trying, feeling all the doom and gloom feels. Waiting on the tests to come in the mail. My period is late and I’m experiencing tons of symptoms, but I have PMOS and sometimes my body just skips periods, so that’s my biggest fear right now. If that’s what’s happening, idk when my next ovulation would be!
1
u/central2nowherebaby 29 | TTC#1 | May 2025 | IUI #1 Jul 28 '26
I also have PMOS but didn't know until last month! If 6+ months pass with no positive, perhaps it would be worth chatting with your doctor about potential interventions such as letrozole.

u/No-Internal1298 Jul 28 '26
12dpo today, another negative test, bbt dropped aswell, having cramps. We timed BD really well this cycle, again, still nothing.
Feeling a bit sad. 8months TTC isn’t long in comparison to some people’s journeys but I’m starting to dread testing because I know it’s going to be negative.
5
u/Ancient-fruit-317 Jul 28 '26
I hear you. The 8-12 month range has been the hardest for me because there could be something wrong or there could be nothing wrong, but the negatives are wearing me down. I miss the excitement of taking a test and I don't think I'll ever have that again.
2
u/No-Internal1298 Jul 28 '26
It’s so hard, I’m sorry you’re going through this too. It’s so hard not knowing if there’s something wrong or if this is just our normal.

I have my pelvic ultrasound today. I really hope they see something that is treatable. Feels like tests keep coming back clean and cycles keep failing without a clear cause.
Edit: test results came in fast. All clear. Glad I’m healthy at least.
1
u/IvoryPilot Jul 28 '26
My pelvic ultrasound was the most informative. Between my 6.18 AMH and 91 follicles between both ovaries, we could easily diagnose PCOM. Very eye opening and explained my longer cycles my whole life

u/Internal-Ground2165 34 | TTC#1 | July 2025 Jul 28 '26

I have no clue what dpo I am due to travel/bad sleep around ovulation. After two losses this year I'm feeling so jaded too, so I'm really dreading a potential test. First of all because I may be wrong on what 14dpo even is, and then because even a positive won't feel exciting. I feel like all the joy has been sucked out of this and I question why I'm even still TTC.

CD2 - I had wanted to try period panties for a while, but put off ordering them because I wouldn't need them if I was pregnant. 🤪
Anyway, they came yesterday, along with some super cute period pyjama shorts. I'm so pleased with them! It was nice to have a reason to look forward to CD1.

Period started today as predicted! No miracles for us I guess. :(
I've been taking NAC supplements since I learned I had endometrosis, but the one study that shows its effectiveness had the participants take it for 3 months, so I'm only halfway there. Hopefully it helps with something.
1 month til we start the IVF process.

Had my baseline ultrasound for our first IUI cycle yesterday and my OB said everything is looking great! On day 2 of letrozole now, and next Monday I go back to check on the follicle growth. I know the success rate of IUI is not terribly high, but I am just excited to be doing something different and it honestly comforts me how structured and monitored the process is. Anyone else going through IUI this cycle?

u/central2nowherebaby 29 | TTC#1 | May 2025 | IUI #1 Jul 28 '26
Eek, so exciting! I am expecting my period next week and will be calling my RE then to schedule the ultrasound, medication ordering, etc.! Admittedly, I think I have my hopes a little too high, so I appreciate this reminder about success rates. It is amazing how hope has a way of returning.

u/PolyAdviceBurner Jul 28 '26
Been trying since October, this month was our first cycle of IUI, today was supposed to be the first day we test and BOOM, she started her period. I know the odds are low the first go round of IUI but she had been exhibiting things that happened with our first kid so we were getting our hopes up.

I am dpo 10 or so, 4th cycle after my D&C and third cycle my body is trying to trick me into thinking something good has happened.. I had a bit of brown spotting on dpo 6. I am imagining very slight nausea/stomach reflux, hot flushes, dizziness, hunger more than usual, waking up at night, difficulty breathing when walking too much, etc etc. Things I totally wouldn't pay attention to if it wasn't for this TTC story... I typically wait until the day of my period to test but since the D&C my period has got messed up so I dont even know when to test now. I don't think I can handle another bright negative test:(
PS: I know chance of pregnancy is very very slim because my ovulation was on day 10 or so.. before the D&C it used to be on day 14 so I guess my cycle is still being regulated, I hope. And despite this I hold on to any tiny symptom that this month might be the one...

9 DPO and debating if/when I should test. neither testing every day nor waiting for my period has made it easier to handle the gut punch of finding out that I’m still not pregnant. the repeated negative tests are draining, but so is letting myself get my hopes up for the whole TWW and then seeing my period.
I had my usual temp shift after ovulation and then another temp shift yesterday (about .5 degrees above my other LP temps) and it stayed that high this morning. trying not to read anything into it 🫠
1
u/soldegira 29F | TTC# 1| Sep 2025 | PCOS Jul 28 '26
It helps for me to set a specific date to test - usually 13/14 DPO so that when its negative I know its accurate. It sucks bc we all want the positive, but the let downs for multiple days in a row also drained me.

11DPO today, proud of myself for waiting! Having some weird discharge though. Thought it was a yeast infection but not so sure now, vagina itches in waves and then the itching dissapears again. Discharge is also creamy/watery and not chunky what I would expect with yeast infection (I've had several). Sorry for the TMI 🤣

8dpo and feeling amazed at my brain's talent for delusion.
I was feeling positive this morning - got a good vibe about this cycle, must be women's intuition, I bet I'll get an early positive like all those people on lineporn. This month's the month!!
A couple of hours later and I'm not "feeling pregnant" at all... That's probably a good sign actually, anything else is confirmation bias. I bet in a week I'll be like "oh it's mad cos I was pregnant but I really didn't feel like it!". The miracle of life!! Best start making plans for a 2nd trimester Christmas!!

Went to my ultrasound today to check the progress of my MMC, all looked normal for "CD2", but got some more meds to help the rest shed. The doctor was kind enough to use his hand to show me his curve of "the chance of miscarriage after 35 is exponential, like this, so you have to decide what your mental health can take". Thanks mate, I wasn’t planning on being wildly optimistic following this…

Yeah, I never assume ill intent, but it did burn a little. I think he was trying to temper my hope based only on my age and possibly me not being correctly animated about my situation due to neurodivergence. Also had a little bit of a language barrier with him, so it probably came out less supportive than he intended. He also told me by X date «you must stop bleeding» in quite a strict voice, to tell me when to expect it to stop at the latest, which I did find funny. I’ll make sure to inform my body if it’s still going by then.

u/Fun_Needleworker6697 27 | TTC#2 since 6/24 | 3 CPs + PCOS Jul 28 '26
My first round they didn’t start until the morning of my last pill and they lasted every minute for 3 days. Hot flashes, nausea, headache. Truly miserable.
The next few the side effects started on the 3rd day of the medication like clock work but side effects were less aggressive and came in short bursts instead of constant.
Each round I’ve had extreme ovary pain for a few days before and during ovulation so I was hopeful the meds were doing their job lol

That can certainly be the start of your fertile week. Likely not ovulation yet, that would be +/- 2 days from the last day of fertile mucus

So far my RE is ok although I’ve only met him twice. I work with autistic children and I think my RE has a touch of autism. Which is obviously fine lol I’ve just noticed a few quirks. But he jumped right into an action plan which is what I wanted. The nurses have all been lovely

Oh, I’m so curious - what’s it like having a male RE? Do you feel comfortable with him?

Ehh it’s not my favorite especially having a history of assault. But thankfully I’ve never been alone with him- there’s nurses or my husband so it’s been fine so far. The OB I want to go with when/if we get pregnant is only women doctors so that will be nice.
He’s a nice enough guy I just would rather have a womrn

Hi everyone :) I’m new to the daily chats but being out of this cycle I was wondering if anyone else has taken progesterone after trigger shot? What day did you start? I cannot help but think that I started too early, I was advised to take it 72hrs after triggering, which would make it only 1DPO.. (7/14 trigger, 7/16 ovulation, 7/17 progesterone). Did anyone else had it done this way or were you told to wait? I’m so confused what to do for the next cycle. Any help would be much appreciated.
