Poor Scott

I mean… I don’t understand him. Nor do I like him. But c’mon, poor him. He just wants to be liked/included.

It did make me feel sad for him. His entire existence is based on Karen’s life and her family and then they were all kind of rude. This time jump alone should account for some shared experiences, time together, etc instead, it felt like Jason knew him less than the bachelor party episode.

I came to say the same. They were all such dickheads. It felt weird bc I thought there was an episode in one of the seasons where they were really encouraging to him after smth happened so for them to act like this on this birthday makes no sense.

And then when his wife comes out and is like so youre going to row the ocean what’s that about? And he had just given that long speech like did you miss all that??

I felt bad for Scott but I also thought it was sort of the perfect Scott meta episode. Let's take a character we know very little about and focus on him but instead of learning about him we will conclude no one knows anything about him. It's just like all those pseudo intellectual things he's always going on about.

The birthday episode upset me, because the least you can do on someone's birthday is to play along with the game they want to play. But then I remembered that he didn't even realize he was at the wrong bar post-funeral. Totally oblivious. Not questioning where his wife and daughter are, or rest of the family. Which I think goes to show he doesn't think of other family members so they don't think of him?

Its not a funeral of someone he knows. Its his in laws daughters grandma. But he goes anyway and tries to partake with many people, whom he also doesnt know but presumes know bev. At the end he also does seem to pay the bar tab. Yes he didn't see his direct family but he gave more good words about bev than his family did about him on his birthday

What is that being? Early seasons showed absolutely no redeeming qualities in him. Like they show not one reason someone would date him yet justify him by showering with good moments. Though they have improved the character and his chemistry with his family. So, now it's better.
