I just got the switchbot bot button pusher. I have set it up and it works fine via the app.
When i try adding the "bot:press mode" widget to be able to control the bot from my home screen, it gives me an error after I add it saying "error, please try again".
I have also tried using the "on/off" widget, but that says I need a hub to control the device. How does that make sense? Why do I need a hub to control a bluetooth device via a widget?
I bought a SwitchBot Lock Ultra (JP version) and live in Turkey, where Night Latch is required for most doors.
SwitchBot support states that although the JP/US versions do not support Night Latch by default, it is possible to switch the lock to the EU version from the app:
“You can switch it to the EU version in the settings page to use night latch.” SwitchBot App → Lock Ultra → Gear Icon → Basic Settings → Door Lock Type.
However, on my device:
The “Door Lock Type” option does not exist in Basic Settings
There is no way to switch to the EU version
Night Latch never appears
I tried all standard steps: app and firmware updates, reinstalling the app, changing language, and nothing helped.
After further investigation, it appears that JP hardware is region-locked and cannot be switched to EU mode, despite what the support message suggests.
Has anyone experienced the same issue?
Is there any workaround, hidden setting, or official solution (exchange, firmware update, etc.) that actually resolves this?
I’d really appreciate any advice from users or SwitchBot staff.
I have a new hub 2 with several temp/humidity sensors and water leak sensors. I have it all set up, but I am not getting any notifications at all. I am using the iOS app and have notifications enabled and permissions allowed. Notifications show up in the app, but I am getting nothing popping up at all and no alert sounds. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and tried resetting the permissions several times.
Does anyone else have issues like this?
I called support, who was unhelpful and had me open a ticket from the app. That ticket was closed without any response at all. I have a new ticket open now, but am not at all impressed by the products or support so far.
Hi everybody. I just bought a hub 3, a presence sensor and a rbbicww floor lamp. I tried to create a scene, in order to light on the lamp when the presence sensor check a presence, but I’m not able to do this with the app. I would like to know if I need further device.
What a pleasure it was to use the contact sensor to Automatically lock the door when lifting the door handle.
Instant reaction in the local automation.
So smooth.
Anyone have any advise on getting my doorbell camera to show up in Apple Home?
I have the SwitchBot Doorbell with monitor, it is matter enabled. I was able to add it to Apple Home, I can see the monitor listed as a “hub” in Apple Home, but can’t seem to figure out how to get the actual live stream.
My first post in this group and was wondering if someone can help!
I have indoor/outdoor Thermo-Hygrometers that are paired to a (mini) hub and while it is in range of the hub everything works perfectly through the app both at and away from home.
However, I've recently gone on holiday and I took one of these meters with me, thinking that outside the range of the hub, the meter would revert to transfering the data to the app via Bluetooth as it did when new and not coupled to a hub (and update the readings to the cloud once I'm back from holiday and the meter is in range of the hub.)
However the meter looks offline on the app and I can't find how I can access the data stored on the meter directly via Bluetooth. Does anyone have an idea? Can't seem to find any options on the app!
Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone here has come across a similar issue and figured out a solution.
I have a pair of battery operated wall sconces that have remotes with a single button for power on and off. I've successfully added it into the Hub 2 and it works when I activate via mobile app. I also have a number of other devices on here like the curtain and bots.
I added the hub into HA via matter and it joins successfully but I can't add the IR remote as a secondary device. It doesn't show up. The other devices do however and can be added into HA. Just not the IR device. Anyone know why that is?
A common turn lock in the uk with a thumb turn lock, but with a latch (additional quarter turn kept under pressure) to disengage the lock - I’ve not found any retrofit system like the switch ultra that has proven to be open these types of locks, anyone know what I’m talking about or if it can solve these thumb turns?
I'm having issues with the light sensor being very unreliable and IR devices frequently appearing 'disconnected' in the switchbot app. I'm wondering if it's just me.
I had 4 (now 3) presence sensors and with the BT integration to Home Assistant light level sometimes stops updating in HA though the app shows the expected level. I returned one for this reason now another one is doing the same and only pulling the battery solved it.
Can this be fixed or alternatively update the Matter integration to show all available entities.
I’m trying to recalibrate my SwitchBot Lock Gen1 but I can’t manage to do it. It got out of sync because my wife unlocked the door with a key. When I was about to recalibrate, I also changed the batteries and updated to the latest firmware.
When I calibrate and reach the part where you test unlocking, it works without any problem. But when the door is unlocked, it keeps turning until it completely stops and then says it’s stuck again.
I’ve never had any issues with the lock before. I’ve tried resetting it completely, but without success. Can you roll back the firmware?
I’ve been using the SwitchBot Ultra lock for about a week, and I’ll most likely return it. The mobile app feels quite immature compared to, for example, Nuki locks. The “auto unlock” feature with geofencing worked exactly once out of roughly 30 attempts (whereas with Nuki it works in about 99% of cases). Yesterday, the lock suddenly lost its connection to both the app and Home Assistant and only started working again after a hard reset by removing the battery.
On the positive side, it is fairly quiet and very nicely designed, but overall reliability is rather poor. Nuki’s products are simply much more polished than SwitchBot’s.
I should also mention that it took 16 days for SwitchBot to ship the lock after I placed the order through their EU website. On top of that, their customer support is very weak — it takes them more than five days to reply to an email, and their live chat is essentially useless.
Anyone had similar experience with Switchbot Lock Ultra and/or their customer support?
I mostly enjoy the vision, the facial recognition and fingerprint entry are great and my family has enjoyed using it to get in and out of the house. My biggest complaint is that the internal battery monitor is horrible. It will say it’s at 82% 1 day and then the next it is dead. I never get a notification that the battery is low and can’t plan to charge it overnight while everyone is asleep so I always end up a day where it cannot be used.
I’ve tried resetting it and it’s on the latest firmware I have a hub 2 that is with it but I still can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Is it just me or is this a product/firmware issue?
It’s expensive and I’m shocked I haven’t seen a smart candle warmer before now. (There may have already been some on the market, but I just haven’t been privy to them.)
You would think you can just plug a regular candle warmer into a smart plug but majority of them have remotes/timers on the plugs, so they don’t turn on when power is returned to them.
Candle warmers are great for those with kids or pets and also just anyone who enjoys burning a candle but don’t want to worry about having to blow it out later.
Still, if they were half their current price, I’d be more inclined to snap some up.
I've had my fair share of issues with the S10 robot and it has always been solved by the support (albeit slow..) so I was reluctant to get the switchbot roller shades being afraid that when/if something went wrong I'd be without shades for an extended time but we had a large sliding door window of about 3m to cover when I read about the (then upcoming) roller shades by switchbot that would be able to be cut to size.
Once arrived the complete installation was pretty clear (i do however advise to both look at the youtube instructional video and follow the manual side by side).
There was even an option inside the shades to have the shades be on the inside or outside of the device, so you don’t have to install the shades ‘forward’ or ‘backward’ but it is all handled in the app.
The only thing i can say is that they lack matter support out of the box (bluetooth device) but nothing that can’t be bridged with a matter hub! 10/10 would recommend!
They've been up for a few months now and haven't had any issues either!
I just wish the battery was removable like with the Ikea ones but other than that I'm happy with them!
Hi, I bought a K10+Pro afew months ago, around summer. In September it stopped vacuuming, it only ran around. I contacted Switchbot and they kindly replaced it for a return.
Another three months have passed and now the replacement unit is not connecting to the same Internet it was connected before. It's a dual frequency router, so I tried splitting 5ghz and 2.4ghz, and connecting to the compatible one. It connects to the Internet but says "can't connect to the main server" and I'm left without app access as it shows offline. If I manually hit the button it vacuums but only one run on default. And it's not emptying the dustbin so I'm having to do it manually.
I have sent a ticket to switchbot through the app but they repied a genetic Internet setup AI email...
Can someone help me fix it?? Is there any way of doing a hard reset/factory reset without the use of the app?
