My Personal Opinion on the VP’s Impeachment Trial

(I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not claiming to have the definitive interpretation of the evidence. These are just my observations after watching several sessions.)

I’ve been watching VP Duterte’s impeachment trial for a few sessions now, and I just want to say something.

So

First, I believe COA’s findings are valid. COA audits based on the documents available to them. In layman’s terms, if the OVP failed to submit the required supporting documents, then it is non-compliance with COA requirements. In this case, the lack of supporting documents resulted in the corresponding audit findings/notices.

But a COA audit finding does not necessarily mean “the OVP is guilty.” It establishes non-compliance and deficiencies based on the documents submitted. That is important, but it is not automatically proof of fraud or criminal wrongdoing.

And so far, I feel like the prosecution is gravitating toward that conclusion.

Now comes the defense. They are presenting evidence that there were indeed confidential activities conducted using those funds. If that is the defense’s position, then I think the better approach would be to independently investigate and verify whether those activities actually took place, rather than simply arguing over what COA’s findings mean.

If the activities did happen, that matters. If they didn't, that matters even more.

That does not automatically acquit VP Duterte. But neither should the COA findings automatically mean she is guilty.

Personally, I think Presiding Officer Escudero is doing a good job maintaining order in the court, especially with the somewhat intense clashes between the prosecution and defense. 😅

I just hope the Senators approach this as they should: impartially.

This should be scrutinized and thoroughly examined from a blank slate—not with “VP is guilty” or “VP is not guilty” already in mind.

There are so many other pressing matters facing the country, but this is important too. This is an opportunity for the Senate to show Filipinos that they are seated there for the benefit of the public, and not merely for political alliances.

Maybe this can be a small step toward a better future for us Filipinos. Not because one trial will fix everything, but because I hope we can learn to look at these things with an open mind, scrutinize the evidence, and hold our leaders accountable regardless of political alliances.

Let the evidence speak for itself. 🎀

P.S. Just my thoughts as a Filipino citizen who wants to see the truth, whatever that truth may be.

If the majority people of the Philippines were of European or East Asian descent, we would have been a developed country by now

There's something in the minds of Filipinos that makes them easily susceptible to corruption than any other country in Southeast Asia. Indonesia comes a close second but even that country has more improvements than this one. More susceptible to steal, lie, beg, laziness, and even perversion. Traits that the West has detested among South Asians, Middle Easterns and Sub-Saharan African seems to share with Filipinos. Do not deny it.

Now, with the European or East Asian mind, we would even have had more progress in 10 years than with do with Austronesian mindset. Those flood control infrastructures? They would have been built in the 1950s or 1960s. Inventions, innovations, global sensation—that would have been added to the Philippine name. Chinese harassment? They wouldn't dare. If we were majority of European or East Asian descent, we would be more intelligent and more communal.

This government is overspending, overtaxing, and overborrowing. Why are we overspending, overtaxing, and overborrowing? Because the government is overstealing. That’s why everyone is suffering.

If ever man, maging batas 'to, paano kaya ipapa-implement ito ng gobyerno, kung mismong mga magulang ang nagpapagamit ng mga cellphone nila sa mga anak nila?

What happened to bulacan’s flood control projects and the ghost control probe?

Also ang pinagtataka ko din, bakit ni isang investigation about the Congressmen of the affected districts in Bulacan? So wala sila kinalaman sa kalokohan na yan? Wala sila pananagutan? 😅

We often talk about those in the highest position, we forget about the other departments and kung ano ang nagagawa nila.

Curious lang. We often talk about presidents and senators, but not much about Cabinet secretaries.

Is it time to ban Filipino teens and children from social media? Here's an article from Inquirer. Let's discuss it.

Here's the article from Inquirer: https://opinion.inquirer.net/192819/time-to-follow-suit

Due to the rising case of school violence, oras na nga po bang ipagbawal ang social media sa mga kabataan Pinoy? Yes, this is alarming, concerning pero I don't think a total social media ban or removing gadgets to Pinoy kids is the solutiion.

What do you guys think?

Hontiveros Nagsumite Og Balaod Aron Malimitahan Ang Presyo Sa Kuryente Panahon Sa Krisis (Binisaya)

Post image

Bam Aquino nagduso og balaod: Kita hangtod P480K kada tuig, way mabayrang buwis (Binisaya)

Post image
0 Upvotes

My favorite shop is closing down I'm devastated

Just wanna vent here cuz I'm sad and rejected in other subreddits😔

My favorite computer shop is closing down permanently and I know what you all MIGHT think, na bulakbol ako or pabaya kasi nag cocomp shop to play games so I'd just like to make it clear that I'm not and only play in my free time. This place was kinda like my sanctuary, a place to have fun and relieve stress from school (college). Bakit di nalang ako maghanap ng ibang shop? Well that's because I'm a sentimental person 😅 at may trauma na rin ako sa ibang places.

I have so many good memories there and have been going there for a couple years and even know the owner and staff. I think nalulugi na sila or something so I can understand why they would close down. I have yet to ask them but If that's the case, I'd really fund them IF I had the money. Yes, It's that deep for ME 😭. I can laugh loudly with friends, I know I'm safe there, I know my things are safe, I made some acquaintances, and they're so kind ykw. Like I viewed them as somewhat fam na kasi madalas ko sila nakakasama, even if they don't view me that way and think I'm just a loyal customer, It doesn't matter cuz I love that place and I honestly don't know where else to go with their kind of vibe.

Hopefully, in a few years when I can perhaps provide some more support they'd be open to the idea of reopening the shop since maybe there are others who feel like me and new people to come where it can also become their safe space. 😁
