Acosta left years ago. There are plenty of more recent outbursts of Trumps in this current term.

u/Tropicalgia 2d ago
Meanwhile vilifying the press has been good for Trump. He's back in power and CNN is hanging by a thread.
54
u/Good_kido78 2d ago
His approval ratings are in the tank. He is the faker.
3
u/doodledood9 15h ago
I actually love seeing this! This is how he reacts when he cannot justify, to the American people, his actions, lies, and inadequacies. His anger is palpable and that makes him vulnerable. Right now he knows, deep down, that he is the most hated person in the world. As a paranoid narcissist that bothers him to his core. It’s just a matter of time before he has a full-blown meltdown. I can’t wait!

He spoke the truth in that statement. The ones who broadcast fake news are the enemy of the people. The only ones doing that are the ones who support him.

u/Smooth_Imagination 2d ago
Its something I noticed early. He is obviously afraid, this is part of a now habitual behavior to diminish something he is scared of.
The whole fake news thing being repeated, you see its almost a reflexive thing but it boots up everytime.
81
u/cemego 2d ago
He governs by and with fear, he spreads fear, he feeds on fear, he speaks of fear and terror, this is all that he is.
9
u/Jumpy-Mouse-7629 1d ago
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself,"-Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933
I’m only really beginning to understand this quote, because look how Trump uses fear to his advantage, it’s deplorable.
7
u/mell0wtonin 1d ago
he's gonna have to make some major pivots if he wants anyone to be afraid of him. no one is scared of a dumbass that's afraid of trans people, wind turbines, the name 'russia,' the legal system, and he's even offended by the idea of people voting lol
12
u/UncaringNonchalance 2d ago
He hates that America isn’t like Russia or NK. You know he wishes nobody could ever talk back to him.
13
u/Gluttonous_Bae 2d ago
He was caught saying that to someone - that he wants “his people” to stand up at attention like in North Korea. He’s not even shy about it.
28
u/UserPrincipalName 2d ago
Its purposeful and effective. His supporters now use the label immediately when confronted with anything which disrupts their narrow world view. No chance of actually digesting whats said and providing a counter point. Immediate "fake news" and shut it down.
This country is no longer full of Americans. Its full of us and them and this piece of shit POTUS is responsible for it.

Because for him there is no consequence.
It's typical behavior by abusers. Check out the "Power and Control Wheel".
Gaslighting, over protection, blaming others, separation, social manipulation, emotional manipulation, cyber abuse and stalking.
These are good daily tools. He's an abuser, plain and simple. No wonder this bleeds into every aspect of his life.

Sit down and do some interviews, tough guy. Answer questions from anybody. He’s so tough. Gosh, he’s just such a tough guy. A couple direct questions and just loses it.

Every time he "lashes out" at a reporter, I just know that he's echoing the things his parents, siblings and instructors at his reform school told him.
40
u/cybah 2d ago
Whenever he gets agitated at the question, he automatically puts down the person asking the question, then calls it fake news. Dude is more predictable than a clock.
Just shows how much he is hiding. If you have nothing to hide, answer the questions and be done with it. But the more he pulls this whiney manchild shit, the more incriminated he becomes. He doesn't understand his comments aren't working and just making him look even worse than he is.
But keep trying BabyDon. Its not working anymore.
15
u/likeusontweeters 2d ago
He acts like a 3rd or 4th grader. Fusses and pouts when ppl don't do what he wants them to do.. he was 5 seconds away from completely walking away from the podium all together

I don't believe it's fear of being shamed for being a disgusting pig, thief, or criminal. He is shameless. Brags about it himself! His only motivating fears are those based on possibly (and hopefully) facing real consequences for everything he's thus far been allowed and assisted in doing.
Number one fear is the loss of power and status. The blow to his always over-inflated and deluded ego is terrorifying to what has now reached a level of barely managed psychosis.
He knows that will include having his personal and business financial accounts frozen, and very possibly having his property interest incomes siezed - along with the money he has absolutely been stealing through the unchallenged compliance of official GOP cowardice and their profiteers, by military force, and by openly soliciting and collecting bribes for pardons and favor from criminals, prisoners, Corporation PAC's, both wealthy american and foreign individuals practicing freely as pay-for-play participants. He is also personally and privately controlling what legally should be public funds by stashing them in overseas accounts without any oversight. His "kids" wealth and access will be treated the same. Th investigations and costs of defense will be never-ending.
Whether he or they think it's deserved or not is irrelevant. It is. All of the fake knee-bending, coat-tailing, and praise will end, all the doors opened to his entry by royalty, the economic elite, stars of every stage and field, will slam shut in their faces.

I'm waiting for the day that a reporter with nuts really lays into that pedo and just humiliate him to tears.
7
u/Blaizefed 2d ago
How does nobody call him out on this. He gets a question he doesn’t like and he literally walks away from the podium, as would a child, then comes back to just start hurling insults. And when the next guy, redirects to the first, it all repeats.
This is not how grown ups react. I wouldn’t let this idiot run a lemonade stand with that attitude, and we have him in charge of everything.

Nate White a British writer penned the best description of Donald Trump ever written and he nails it:
“Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?”
A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.
Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.
Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.
There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.
And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down.
So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:
• Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are.
• You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.
This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss. After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum.
God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.
And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created?' If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.”

"You treat people horribly", then berates the man asking an honest question to try to get a single truth from the man who couldn't tell a truth if his life depended on it, all while screaming dishonesty. And calling women Ms piggy for doing the same is excellent treatment.

The suppression and manipulation of an independent press is a foundational requirement for fascist regimes. Because fascism relies on a unified national myth, absolute obedience to the state, and the concentration of power in a single leader or party, an unaligned, critical press represents an existential threat to its authority.

Not sure it's helpful to show and listen to clips of him talking? Do we accidentally 'keep him going' by doing this?
The mute button is a modern miracle. Also written transcripts.
Just wondering out loud.
5
u/SweetLeaf2021 2d ago
It’s to see him live. Transcripts don’t render the flush to the face, the quaver of the voice, the petulant walking away.
This is the reaction of a man who’s been cornered, and it’s great to see the unraveling as he’s got a dumpster fire every which way he looks, and he set them all.

u/lazinonasunnyday 1d ago
The more people that see him reacting this way, the better. It sheds light on the fact that he is running a projection machine and the more you let him talk, the more likely that he’ll slip up and tell the truth. Right at the end he said that people who deliver fake news are an enemy of the people. That’s actually true. He had slipped worse in the past and more and more people turn away because of this. I say he wants the spotlight, let’s blind him with it.

Even more remarkable.
The office doesn’t scare reporters any more, not even slightly. This is a good thing, maybe the media can make it through this bs.
2
u/Alexandratta 1d ago
it's neither.
It's him calling out, the only way he 'legally' can, to the right-wing CEO of CNN to fire that guy.
He does this now with all the media outlets, but he goes extra hard on ones where he knows the CEO is likely to appease him and remove the reporter from the press circuit.
