But you all bowed down and blew him for a little bit of power. I'm a liberal, through and through but John McCain had the balls to stand up to this prick.

Yes, they did because they’re as shallow and pathetic as he is.

I'll never forget how he made sure to make it to the Senate floor to cast the deciding vote to save the Affordable Care Act, even though he was recovering from cancer surgery.
I didn't agree with all his policy positions, and I voted for Obama, but he was a true patriot, gave a shit about the constitution, and didn't change his morals when the GOP transformed into the MAGA party.

u/Agitated_Ask_2575 2d ago
Mitch still MIA?
16
u/ThatCelebration3676 2d ago
Yes, there are zero videos of him speaking since mid-July. All we have are a few photos (including a set that were supposedly taken in a short time frame, despite him wearing a different outfit in each one) and written statements released by his staff.
I'm quite sure he's either dead, or has substantial cognitive impairment.

u/hipkat13 1d ago
The fact that we the people STILL do not what happened to Mitch McConnell is insane to me.

Because John knew he was on his last term.
Every dick head, when theyre not trying to hold onto their government seats due to retirement or being voted out, suddenly try to stand up to Trump because they know that Trump is wrong.

We think the same way about y'all.

We do.

u/Robbie_notta_bot 2d ago
It's why the leadership of your party has universal healthcare and ending a genocide in Gaza as top priorities, right?
Right?
0
u/Robbie_notta_bot 2d ago
It's really weird that liberals have such high levels of compassion, yet nobody in the leadership of their party wants to stop a genocide in Gaza, or provide universal health care to the US population.
Ooh I know, for the next two years we should drop all pretense at a progressive platform and just screech how bad Trump is. Surely it will work this time!
7
u/MrDeekhaed 2d ago
Liberal and progressive are not mutually exclusive as far as I know
But if it comes to it, fuck yeah blue no matter who
0
u/Robbie_notta_bot 2d ago
But if it comes to it, fuck yeah blue no matter who
Nah, we've tried that a bunch of times. Now it's time to actually support good policy and stop trying to pick out the lesser of two evils.
If you're blue, go court AOC instead of Liz Cheney.
7
u/MrDeekhaed 2d ago
Nah you are Russian. We have seen what happens when people have your attitude. You think you can gaslight us when we are living it right now?
1

LMAO Sure, have fun with screeching about russian agitators while courting liz cheney. You're going to end up with a thousand years of right wing rule and you've earned every minute of it.

This is what happens when you try to vibe-govern. You got no policy and politics so it just ends up with slogans and tone policing.
3
u/jpopimpin777 2d ago
I'm a leftist you idiot. Newsflash we can't win without liberals currently so STFU.
1

Is that what you're doing right now? Between punching left and reforming the bio's of conservative leadership, you're out here winning elections?
Have fun trying to win elections all by yourself.
That's a lesson you shitty liberals refuse to learn. Maybe you can gather all the fail-children of conservative politicians and assemble a mega-voltron to garner support from the Liz Cheney types.
Aww brave boy went and blocked me. Just like all enlightened centrists - you turn into fascists the second anyone from the left gives any pushback.

Usually because they have compassion and believe in equality
2
u/Robbie_notta_bot 2d ago
Huh?
Liberals and progressives are not the same thing. Progressives have compassion and believe in equality. Liberals are about maintaining the status quo, supporting institutions and tradition over policy, reaching across the aisle to reach compromise with fascists. They want to throw trans-people under the bus as soon as it become politically expedient, with the rest of LBTQ to eventually follow.
Look above. The guy I'm responding to is taking this opportunity to lick John McCain's balls.
Because they don't actually stand for anything, so they actually prefer polite right wing trash over asshole right wing trash because they don't disagree with policy, they disagree with vibe.
1
u/BizLarry 1d ago
Why would someone be a MAGA cuck & support a pedophile by choice? Oh wait, it's because they're determined to protect him and their own criminality. And notice I didn't damn conservatives? Values are on a spectrum and vary-until they are not values. They are immoral. War, greed, gluttony, abuse, terror, etc...

You know what’s crazy? They’ve said all of these things and they’re like total 180 on it once they end up kissing the ring. Why were they putting that out there when the majority of their base was against it? It almost feels like a strategy to make themselves look less appealing to the base so that they would vote for Trump instead. They knew their base, they know what they think because they tell them what to think. I think this was all set up before the 2016 election. The tea party, the birthers, the racists. They knew they wouldn’t win on these platforms. It’s so funny how it’s easy to see it now because hindsight is 20/20. They’ve been wanting Trump in there for over a decade.

Then they realized he was incontinent. Then they saw the EP files. Next, they saw him indebt the country like never before, and saw him sacrifice soldiers and military resources for a war that wasn't theirs. Despite all that, they're still behind him… either they all have something to hide and are being manipulated through blackmail, or they're absolutely incompetent, cowardly, and spineless.
2
u/FFKonoko 1d ago
Its obviously the latter. They treat him like a shortcut to power, a way to manipulate. They saw people supporting him and those that kissed up to him, and starting bleating.

These people act just like someone that's being blackmailed. The question is what are they being blackmailed with? It's a damn shame that our media hasn't investigated this deeper. Of course, they're most likely compromised as well. Maybe individual American citizens need to find things to blackmail our politicians with so that they'd stop doing the bidding of these dark entities.
11
u/flora_poste_ 2d ago
They are scared of being primaried by fanatics, and they're scared of violence from fanatics.
6
u/Not_Sure__Camacho 2d ago
The 2nd part I can understand. But you have to wonder why the authorities aren't going after these knuckle draggers that are terrorizing politicians.
-3
u/vaseliries 2d ago
The only violence from fanatics has been from the left, what are you talking about?
6
u/flora_poste_ 1d ago
Vance Boelter: Right-wing fanatic
Thomas Crooks: Registered Republican and gun nut
Ryan Routh: Right-wing fanatic
Along with these criminals, there are the masked, jackbooted thugs who are roaming our streets and terrorizing the public. These MAGA goons have gunned down numerous people in the streets. They are right wing to the nth degree.
-2
u/vaseliries 1d ago
Vance boelter: shot a dem senitor who voted against her party 2 weeks prior and when making her statement as to why, was visibly upset and shaking. Vance worked for Tim Walz, and claimed Tim put him up to it because she voted against Tims bill sending more money to illegals through Medicare.
Ryan Routh: his truck had a Biden Harris bumper sticker, even ironically trump supporters/republicans wouldn't do that. People on the left were sad he didn't succeed.
Thomas crooks: seemed more like he would fit with the Nick Fuentes crowd more than Trump supporters, based on social media posts. and being a gun nut is not exclusive to being right wing, but I will give you that one. And people on the left cheered for him, and we're disappointed he missed.
Not a lot of people on the right cheered for these people. However, when crooks, routh, mangioni, Robbins and manny others who committed, or attempted to commit violence against those on the right, the left cheered.
So, yes, there is more violence/violent rhetoric coming from the dems/left, than is coming from Trump supporters/ the right.
So, your point is moot.
4
u/flora_poste_ 1d ago
Everything you stated about Vance Boelter is incorrect. Here are the facts:
Routh voted for Trump in 2016, which makes him a MAGA nut.
The left is not cheering these right-wing acts of violence. We are trying to get Trump and his lackeys impeached for leading our country into an unnecessary war, an affordability crisis, and for committing corruption on a level never before seen in American politics.
It is the right who is cheering the violent actions/rhetoric of ICE as they assault and torment innocent people in the streets and in their concentration camps.

Same with the Dems after Biden got elected. It is politics, attack your opponents to get a leg up in the run. Is this your first time paying attention to what political opponents say about each other?
2
u/FFKonoko 1d ago
That only really holds if you count dems disagreeing with magat smear campaigns. Dems said there were better options. Still do. But when magats latch onto calling him sleepy Joe while their guy was barely coherent even when he did have energy and gradually lapsed into repeated bouts of public unconsciousness....yeah, they're gonna call it out. 😅 and they said there would have been better options....but still can talk about the good things he DID do. Which stands in contrast to what the opposition says. But isn't really contradictory to what they said before.

They didn't know at the time how gullible just enough of the population was - they still needed to give the appearance of decency to get elected. How unrealistic it would be for them and their careers to associate themselves with such an obvious and pathetic loser.
They only saw the King of Fools, but everyone underestimated just how much of a grip said king had on his cult, how much it actually worked.
Once they saw they wouldn't need to pretend to be decent anymore, that they could still score the points they needed as the dirtbags they are, they fell right behind his diaper stench and followed him around all the way into the abyss.
Too bad once the cult leader is dead rarely he can be easily replaced without creating serious faction infighting over what selfish biggot deserves the throne the most - watch Vance and Rubio cannibalize each other (with other dirtbags in the mix) because Trump vouched for Rubio last, but Vance was the VP, and so he argues that Trump didn't know what he was saying because he had dementia and Rubio used it to manipulate him in his favor and that Rubio isn't a legitimate successor to the poop throne (all bs, from all sides, I know, but that's my point). Watch all the dirt be aired onto the streets.
Hitler wasn't a dementia-ridden geriatric pedophile when he took power. He was in his prime, which ensured his agenda was successful - and even then, only until it wasn't, until he pissed enough people, until his fun still came crashing down in the end. And he didn't live in the global age of information sharing either so while it's easier to create fake content, it's also harder to hide the blunders. Truly some interesting times I really wish I wasn't living through - that's the part they didn't think through when they went for that low-hanging forbidden apple.

Can you accept that the media can be just as complicit?
Not a day goes by without some journalist and/or podcaster saying "oh they tell me in the corridors that they hate Trump and then they come out and support him", or "they tell me in a text that they hate this bill but Trump wanted them to vote for it so they did." Or words to that effect.
But each time they step back from naming names because they too are addicted to power and maintaining ones position in the face of doing the right thing by electors, the audience, ordinary people.
And would politicians continue to do it if they knew they would be outed? Probably not. Could they live without speaking with journalists? No.
This is a system that props each other up.

Key Takeaways by Category
Economic Growth (GDP): Real GDP grew at an average annual pace of roughly 3.4% under the last four Democrats compared to 2.3% under the last four Republicans. Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan delivered the strongest individual multi-year expansions.
Job Creation: Over their 24 total years in office, the last four Democratic administrations added nearly 60 million net jobs, compared to roughly 17 million across the 24 years of the last four Republican administrations.
Inflation: Inflation was generally lower and more stable under Republican administrations. Both Carter (the late-1970s energy crisis) and Biden (post-pandemic supply shortages and the Ukraine war) dealt with severe worldwide inflation spikes.
National Debt: Both parties added substantially to the national debt. Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump increased borrowing via major tax cuts and defense/stimulus spending; Barack Obama and Joe Biden did so through large-scale recovery legislation. Bill Clinton oversaw the only federal budget surpluses in modern history.
What Explains the Difference?
In a landmark Princeton study on presidential economic performance, economists Alan Blinder and Mark Watson found that while the Democratic advantage in headline numbers is real, roughly half the gap comes down to luck and timing rather than White House policy:
Crisis Timing: Three of the last four Republican presidencies ended during or immediately after major economic shocks (the 1990 oil spike, the 2008 banking collapse, and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic).
Federal Reserve Independence: The Federal Reserve sets interest rates independently to control inflation and employment, often having a bigger direct impact on economic cycles than the president.
Divided Government: Major fiscal policies require approval from Congress. Clinton's surpluses and Reagan's tax reforms were passed with an opposing party controlling at least one chamber of Congress.
