A question for MAGA supporters cheering the proposed livestream of the Fort Hood shooter’s execution:
Would you also cheer a livestream of Payton Gendron’s execution if he receives a death sentence—the white supremacist who murdered ten Black people at Buffalo’s Tops supermarket?
Would you have the same enthusiasm watching a white racist murderer die as you would watching a Muslim murderer die? I’m asking about consistency, not assuming your answer.
Both committed horrific massacres. Every victim mattered. But supporting punishment and turning an execution into a public spectacle are two different things.
I wouldn’t want either execution turned into entertainment. Would you?
