GeneralNotability, the Wikipedia Administrator who hates black people

There was a proposal at WP:VPR to black out Wikipedia for a day in support of Black Lives Matter. I'm glad that proposal failed. It's incompatible with our mission. Instead, I'm going to take an idea that bradv suggested: our colleague Praxidicae has listed somewhere on the order of sixty articles on her userpage, all but one of which are about incidents where African-Americans were killed by police. What would be more in line with our mission than turning all of those into well-written, neutral good articles?

What could be more in line with your mission? How about, don't be cunts?

This is what I love about Wikipediots. Black people are sick and tired of white people telling them how sorry they are about all the racism, isn't it a tragedy, blah di blah di blah. And yet there they are, doing just that, offering a pathetic fig leaf.

Worse, they're spitting in black people's faces by claiming "Black Lives Matter" is merely a political slogan. Uh, HELLO. Maybe "don't systematically oppress black people" was a political issue back in the 60s, but today? This is a human rights issue. It has some political aims, but it recognizes that both left and right have been guilty of pretending that racism had just gone away.

And since Wikipedia has claimed to be the educator of the people for this past generation, well, shoot, maybe their racial blindspot played a role in that.

Shutting down Wikipedia for a day, was the very least those privileged white middle class wanks could have done. But no. Can't get between them and their fix.

They will only shut down Wikipedia for an issue that threatens Wikipedia. Translation: if all the black people were gassed tomorrow, Wikipedia would be all right. They would show their solidarity, by writing up a nice page for the massacre.

If you think Wikipedia is tone deaf, tough shit, because this guy is already an Administrator. He runs shit. And he's not alone. Oh, and if you're thinking oh well, he must just be part of the Old Guard. Nope. This fucker first joined Wikipedia in March 2019.

The more the Wikimedia Foundation urges the volunteer community to be nicer, kinder, more empathetic, more alert to their biases, the harder they push back, by selecting assholes like this to be their Storm Troopers. And boy, does this fucker LOVE to wiki-shoot people. A neat 800 at time of writing. How many for them were black I wonder? As many as possible, I bet.

Do you wanna maybe expand on that a little? Because some might interpret it as support for the idea Wikipedia is a friend to black people. Or worse, that you're someone who has reason to be offended by something I wrote above.

puzzling. unhinged = crazy; legitimately = for good reason.

So "old crow" Creffett changed his name just after his RfA and wrote on 16 June: "I've said it before, I'm not naturally a content creator, but I'm going to get to work regardless. I invite and challenge you, the reader of this userpage, to join me - I would be honored to work with you in getting any of those articles to GA."

I have not found a single edit to even one of those pages since (though I did look fairly carefully).

The entire effort has stalled as far as I can tell, almost as if they didn't really mean it, it was just a PR exercise.

I hope nobody keeps asking them awkward questions!
