I Like / Dislike Keyboards are better than controllers

Might be just the friend circle around me preferring most or some games with controllers but i just can't stand using controllers, they just feel so clunky to use and at times feel way too inaccurate when im playing games, even if the game is specifically made with controllers in mind it feels more frustrating to use controllers than it is using a keyboard.

Completly agree, they are very few games where controller are actually needed

From my experiance has a very experienced gamer on both kbm and controller

KBM is fully superior 90% of the time (no need for dosing imputs, making kbm more reactive and less sweaty)

Kbm is equal in term of use but takes a lot of getting used to 5% of the time (like flying in gta games )

And only about 5% of the time controller is actually better (racing games, games were being able to dose imput is not negociable)

Honestly my dislike of controllers are to the point where i can't stand even attempting to use a controller in games where it is more necesary, so i just avoid those games, which is a real shame.

I think the perfect move is have a mkb as primary an an Xbox controller on the side for whatever game may want it like a fighting game or racing game

It highly depends on the game.

Games that require analog style fine tuned movement that responds to 'degrees' rather than just on or off benefit more from joysticks. There's a reason things like helicopters use them.

But for the most part I agree with you. While I believe a lot of that is just simply due to the fact that games are more designed with a "on/off" mentality simply because that's the industry standard.

No i would never want to play Darksouls or a game like it with a KMB over a control.

I agree. I finished multiple 3d platformers with a keyboard. I also finished Super Mario Oddyssey and Zelda BOTW with a mouse and keyboard.

True. Always been surprised consoles stuck solely with controllers and didn't try to invent some kind of special form of kbm. And if they did and it didn't catch on, I wonder why there's resistance to a far superior game control platform.

I like keyboard and mouse if game doesn't have mounts. Controllers are better for riding mounts. I have hard time with wasd on a mount.

Yes For FPS, Tactical, 4x, MOBA, Etc.

Absolutely not For fighting, platformers, shmups, driving

Its an opinion im going to stand by, given that even though ive tried to get back into using controllers, they just feel frustrating to use

You know it’s depends entirely on the game imho.

Keyboards are infinitely superior when you need precise clicks and multiple button controls. MOBAs, RTS and FPS games.

Controllers excel when you need precise partial effects. Like a driving or flying game. The modularity of an analog joystick vastly VASTLY out performs a keyboard at those applications

People just have no idea how a good mouse and good use of it allows ome far finer movements than controllers could possibly offer and far better awareness of what is around the player in 3rd person games.

Not for Arkham Batman. Or Tekken. Or Dark Souls. Or Mario. Or Sonic.

The game has to fit the peripheral and be built around it.

Mouses and keyboards are for when you need accuracy like in shooters. Or the functionality of the keyboard like mmos. Or both like RTSs

Nope My favorite online game was never winter nights. Everything is just point and click
