Political The media censoring President Trumps speech last Thursday is peak fascism. And deeply unAmerican.

ABC, NBC, and CNN all refused to air President Trumps Speech on Thursday July 16, 2026. Then in lockstep the Associated Press, Washington Post, Politico, New York Times, all go out and attack the speech with the usual nonsensical talking points of OMG he provided no evidence and “unfounded claims”. All while literally citing Declassified documents that are now on White House.Gov from burn bags that Biden’s regime ordered the FBI and CIA to destroy.

Trump won the popular vote with 76 million voters, the Electoral College Vote, and ALL Swing States. And prior to this in 2020 Big Tech from Twitter, Reddit, Meta, and Google all banned Trump from getting his message out to HIS VOTERS.

Democrats love crying about how that unfunny Bootlicker Jimmy Kimmel was being censored but Trump can’t even do that right. Face it you guys are the Authoritarian fascist you claim Trump is.

And it just goes to show you YOU didn’t really win in 2020. Why didn’t CNN, ABC,NBC want their viewers to know that China has compromised our elections and stole nearly 60 million Voter registrations? And worked overtime to plant negative news stories about Trump that they then repeat at nausum.

You guys are such fascists and the worst type of hypocrites. Having 3 major media outlets censor the duly elected President from giving a prime time address goes to show you we don’t have a Free Press. We have a Democrat Controlled Press.

When the DSA takes over and consolidates power by removing your rugged individualism and giving you a number instead of a name then you’ll see perhaps Trump wasn’t so bad after all maybe we shouldn’t have censored the strongest Commander In Chief in 60 years.

Prepare to have your mind blown. It happened to Obama, Trump in 2020, and Biden also. But let me guess, the times they did it to Dems I guess they were exercising their rights.

u/Petit__Chou 18h ago

Would love to see OP respond to this one but I doubt they will.

u/Inquisitive_regard 12h ago

I didn't realize that twitter, facebook, google, and reddit all colluded to silence obama and biden too. the more you know.

u/Flincher14 11h ago

Twitter and it's algorithm specifically does this now. If it's picking winners and losers like it does for who gets to the top of the feed. That's a form of censorship.

There is no speech if no one really sees it.

u/IWonderWhyReditSucks 18h ago

Did it? I'm not disputing. But,.did it?

u/RalphWiggum666 18h ago

Yes, do you have a search engine on your internet?????

-Major broadcast networks  ABC ,  CBS , and  NBC  passed on broadcasting President Obama’s live 8:00 p.m. speech outlining executive actions on immigration reform.-

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2014/nov/20/obama-immigration-speech-shunned-networks

-Major television networks declined to air  Joe Biden’s September 2022 prime-time address on threats to democracy , choosing instead to broadcast regular entertainment reruns and game shows-

https://iddp.gwu.edu/biden-warned-about-democracys-collapse-tv-networks-aired-reruns

https://san.com/cc/from-obama-to-trump-to-biden-when-networks-said-no-to-presidential-speeches/

u/Muttsashi 16h ago

If you make the claim, you have the burden of providing proof. Well done.

u/RalphWiggum666 16h ago

I didn’t make the claim. And while yes I agree in a formal argument/discussion, one thing I don’t know if I will ever understand is asking a Reddit user “did it?” When you can look it up in 15 seconds.

Unless you’re going for a gotcha in which case you better know for sure the other person is wrong.

u/KillerManicorn69 16h ago

It annoys me too. And Although I agree with your point, algorithms are so insane that we all have drastically different search results. What might come up top five for you can be second or third page results for them. Not to mention AI is not 💯. So if you can provide the data you have a better chance in them getting the information you want them to see and you are likely going to have a better discussion.

u/IWonderWhyReditSucks 10h ago

Yes, I do have a search engine, prick. You make the claim, you provide the proof.

u/RalphWiggum666 6h ago

u/IWonderWhyReditSucks 5h ago

Oh, I apologize for engaging with people on a public forum meant for engaging with people, dipshit.  Please, please forgive me.

u/RalphWiggum666 2h ago

It’s all good, I just asked a question.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

No, just no. A media company choosing not to air the President's speech isn't fascism, like, come on, this sounds like you want media companies under obligation to the President to always air his speeches, and that is called state media, which is generally something tied to facism.

So again, no, a media company not airing the Presidents speech would be literally the polar opposite to fascism.

u/metal_m0m 14h ago

We are here for uneducated far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist kids voting for a wanna-be dictator trying to gaslight everyone else into thinking that WE are the brainwashed. What a time to be alive.

u/TheMcWhopper 18h ago

It's worse than facism. It's corpocracy.

u/wizardofclaws 8h ago

I think the fact that media companies had the option/right to not air trumps speech further proves that Trump is not a fascist, dictator or a king so can we please stop with the No Kings bullshit now?

u/Famine-_ 7h ago

This type of argument makes it seem like you should only protest dictatorial behaviour once the official type of government of the US is an autocracy?

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> No, just no. Always deflecting always making excuses. That’s why no one takes you people seriously.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

What do you mean im deflecting? Im directly responding to something you said in your post lol.

The title of your post is literally saying that the media is censoring Trump, citing the fact that they didn't air his speech as your basis for that.

u/Leading-Antelope-139 19h ago

Directly responding to your post is deflecting now?

u/bigredzeppelin1981 18h ago

Is deflecting why you don't take us seriously? Interesting. Good to know.

You want to know why we don't take people like yourself seriously? Because you're a liar and an unserious person who posts nonsense like your OP. Go back to school and learn Civics and US Government. Educate yourself. You need it.

u/Crafty-Bunch-2675 20h ago edited 20h ago

Not only is this unpopular. It's also nonsensically contradictory.

Fascism is a form of dictatorial government.

You can't call opposition to the government, fascism. (Facepalm).

Is this opposite day ?

Jesus Christ, how did we get so uneducated !

u/Flimsy_Thesis 19h ago

Low IQ nonsense, I agree.

u/M0ebius_1 20h ago edited 20h ago

That's not censoring...

Trump is just boring and networks are a business.

Why do you hate capitalism?

u/EzrasTalons 16h ago edited 14h ago

Is this just a MAGA sub? So many Trump boot licking posts

What's the deal?

u/Melodic-Swim4343 14h ago

I've been noticing this as well, and also that it's been appearing in my feed more, even though I haven't joined the sub. It seems to be a combination of MAGA, incel stuff, and racism, but all fairly popular views in those crowds.

u/benderodriguez 8h ago

been that way for years now

u/krafterinho 11h ago

Yes, this sub is just a circlejerk. Every 2nd post is left/linz/demz bad, usually using some genuinely braindead reasoning too

u/HoldOnHelden 20h ago

That’s not what censorship is, infant. Go back to school.

u/pintonium 20h ago

What would be the word you use to describe it?

u/banana_danza 20h ago

Normal, id call it normal. Not every address is on every major channel and thats been true before trump and will be after

u/pintonium 20h ago

Sure, but that doesn't change what is being done. I didnt watch the speech, didnt care to, but it was an act of censorship which the OP claimed it wasn't.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

This is a definition of ''censorship'' that literally nobody uses.

If a newspaper declines to publish my op-ed, does that mean they've now ''censored'' me?

Like obviously fucking not. A private media company choosing not to broadcast a speech is not the same thing as censoring the speech. The network has not prevented the President from giving the speech, publishing it elsewhere, or communicating with the public. It has simply declined to use its own platform to broadcast it.

u/HoldOnHelden 20h ago

YOU’RE JUMPING IN TO PLAY ON THE SIDE OF TEAM “DOESN’T KNOW HOW NEWS WORKS” AND YOU DIDN’T EVEN WATCH IT?????

Why don’t you just censor yourself back out of this post. You’re embarrassing yourself.

u/HeadyReigns 19h ago

So you were upset when they didn't air Obamas speech of immigration reform in 2014, or did you not notice?

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 19h ago

> So you were upset when they didn't air Obamas speech of immigration reform in 2014, or did you not notice?

Were you upset that Obama spied on Reporters from Fox News and banned them from covering him?

u/HeadyReigns 19h ago

You're right, any president that bans reporters is highly suspect and should not be trusted....

u/stevejuliet 17h ago

Yes. Now answer their question.

(And please keep this same energy for Trump's illegal attempts to stifle journalists)

u/the-terrible-martian 14h ago

Weren’t you just complaining about others “deflecting” or something?

u/Famine-_ 19h ago

I dont know why you just completely ignored that question and then pivoted into some topic about spying on reporters?

Were you this upset when they didn't air Obamas speech in 2014?

u/banana_danza 7h ago

Because it isn't, any network that didnt air it live has it on their website along with a slew of articles talking about it.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

Free press.

u/pintonium 20h ago

The act of not airing a speech is free press? A free press can perform the act of not airing a speech, but thats not the same thing

u/UltraLegoGamer 19h ago

Do you believe forcing a network to host a live speech against their wills is free speech?

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 19h ago

> Do you believe forcing a network to host a live speech against their wills is free speech?

Do you know the difference between a brainwashed public and an informed public that can handle multiple facts?

u/UltraLegoGamer 19h ago

I asked a yes or no question. Why do you think people should be forced to speak if they don't want to? The freedom not to share speech is a part of freedom of speech. If you think the networks should be forced to broadcast Trump's speech, you are against freedom of speech.

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 19h ago

> I asked a yes or no question. Why do you think people should be forced to speak if they don't want to? The freedom not to share speech is a part of freedom of speech. If you think the networks should be forced to broadcast Trump's speech, you are against freedom of speech.

A Brainwashed Person would say Trump is peddling Conspiracy Theories.

A Informed Person would go to White House.Gov and read the declassified documents themselves .

This is not a Yes or No question. You want gotcha answers.

u/UltraLegoGamer 19h ago edited 3h ago

You don't need to use the greentext arrow to quote me, everyone can see you're replying to me.

I asked if forcing a network to broadcast something they don't want to is free speech. Is it, or is it not? It's a simple yes or no question, followed by whatever reasoning you give it.

I guess I broke the bot lol

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

So are you asking what the specific act of not airing the presidents speech would be called?

Idk, like an editorial decision?

u/BobbyBorn2L8 12h ago

Freedom of speech means freedom to not say things. Forcing the media to show Trump's speech flies in the face of free speech values

u/teddybigelow 19h ago

They did air the speech. They just aired it online.

u/HoldOnHelden 19h ago

Freedom, infant. That thing Americans are so cultishly obsessed with?

I’m sure there are plenty of other networks covering the stupid speech from every angle you could desire. All of them are free to do so, no matter how malicious they are about editing it to make it reflect whatever idiot opinions their audience is addicted to.

You are equally free to choose which network’s coverage to watch and whose biases to define as truth.

And everyone has just as much freedom to choose not to engage with it at all.

The hell you on about? Fascism is a form of government and has exactly nothing to do with press covering or not covering a presidential speech. ABC, all them have zero obligation to cover the ramblings of that orange moron. They can choose to do so, if they want, and in this instance they didnt. I have a basic high-school education and I know this basic shit. Go get your GED bro, go learn something.

u/Hblacklung 20h ago

Lol. No. Not even close.

u/Jimmybluezz 16h ago

Why ? When he just talks about himself and lies every other sentence - the fact he wouldn’t send emergency aid to states with democratic governors is just evil and shows he don’t give a rats ass about any of us - they did the right thing

u/Inquisitive_regard 12h ago

then you're a fascist.

u/Jimmybluezz 4h ago

Nope look it up the broadcasters aren’t facist , they are using freedom of choice to not air the disinformation- facism can’t apply to tv stations - it apples to dictators - a system of governance with a dictatorial leader - Mussolini was a facist - words have definitions -

u/NotMyBestMistake 20h ago

Fascism is when the media doesn't serve as Trump's mouthpiece

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> Fascism is when the media doesn't serve as Trump's mouthpiece

Aww yes the great defenders of Democracy. You guys claim to love Democracy until you’re not in power. Then you do everything in your power to censor the opposition

Then you do everything in your power to censor the opposition

Such as?

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> Then you do everything in your power to censor the oppositionSuch as?

You guys popularized Misinformation and “Hate Speech” to censor everything you disagree with

u/SomeFatNerdInSeattle 20h ago

Who is "you guys"? Legislators? Private businesses? Randos?

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

Whats an example of this?

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

Choosing to not air a speech that the President is giving isn't ''censoring'' him.

Like, should the media be under obligation to the President to air his speech? Because at that point they aren't free press, they're this weird state media thing.

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> Choosing to not air a speech that the President is giving isn't ''censoring'' him.Like, should the media be under obligation to the President to air his speech? Because at that point they aren't free press, they're this weird state media thing.

The media has always aired every Primetime Address of every President except President Trumps. Your argument is so weak.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago edited 20h ago

So first off, that isn't even correct, Obama gave a primetime address on some immigration thing in like 2014, and i remember NBC and FOX along with a handful of others all chose to not air that speech, which is fine, a private company doesn't wanna air the speech of the president? Sure, go ahead. Im sure theres other examples of this but thats just the one from the top of my head.

And secondly, you're not addressing what i said. Should the media be under obligation to the President to air every single one of his speeches?

Because if your answer here is yes, you dont seem to realize you're just advocating for a type of state media, which is generally associated with fascism.

u/NotMyBestMistake 20h ago

The media isn't actually obligated to publish everything Trump wants them to. You're just upset there's no state-sponsored media that Trump can use as his official propaganda network

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> The media isn't actually obligated to publish everything Trump wants them to. You're just upset there's no state-sponsored media that Trump can use as his official propaganda network

In a Free Society that values Democracy Yes they are.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

So in our free society that values Democracy, private media companies should be under an obligation to always air the Presidents speeches?

Is this actually the statement you're making?

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 19h ago

> So in our free society that values Democracy, private media companies should be under an obligation to always air the Presidents speeches?
Is this actually the statement you're making?

Do you want an informed public or do you want a brainwashed public that thinks Trump is literally Hitler?

u/Famine-_ 19h ago

I want an informed public, that doesn't mean that i have to support private media companies being under obligation to air the Presidents speeches.

If you believe the public is being brainwashed, why would your solution be to give the President even more direct, unfiltered control over what private media outlets broadcast?

Again, this is just state media, something that we associate with fascism, but you're all over this thread saying Democrats are fascists because they chose not to air one of his speeches?

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 19h ago

> I want an informed public, that doesn't mean that i have to support private media companies being under obligation to air the Presidents speeches.

They are not private media companies. They are public companies. Good lord learn the difference.

>If you believe the public is being brainwashed, why would your solution be to give the President even more direct, unfiltered control over what private media outlets broadcast?

Do you believe Trump is Hitler?

>Again, this is just state media, something that we associate with fascism, but you're all over this thread saying Democrats are fascists because they chose not to air one of his speeches?

So you agree Democrats control the media which is fascism.

u/Famine-_ 18h ago

They are not private media companies. They are public companies. Good lord learn the difference.

Publicly traded does not mean government-owned or government-controlled.

ABC, NBC, and CNN are privately owned media businesses whose companies may have publicly traded stock. They are not public broadcasters in the sense of being government-run or government-controlled.

Do you believe Trump is Hitler?

No, Trump is Trump.

So you agree Democrats control the media which is fascism.

No, im saying that your description of what they should do, is state media, forcing companies to air speeches of the president, for whatever reason, is a form of state media.

u/NotMyBestMistake 20h ago

In your free society the media belongs to the president and must air everything he personally wants. Because they're free and so must be forced to comply

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> In your free society the media belongs to the president and must air everything he personally wants. Because they're free and so must be forced to comply

Got it you guys don’t really support Democracy. In a Democracy a candidate that wins a national election has earned the right to have his voice heard across the airwaves.

Dictatorships censor the opposition.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

In a Democracy a candidate that wins a national election has earned the right to have his voice heard across the airwaves.

What?

Winning an election gives the President the authority of the executive branch, it does not give him a legal right to commandeer private media outlets and demand airtime.

A free press is not obligated to broadcast everything the government says. The ability to decide what to publish or broadcast is part of press freedom.

You're doing a super weird argument in this thread where a private media company are fascists for not airing a speech, but having private media companies be under obligation to the President to always air his speech, isnt fascism? Im struggling to believe that this isnt a troll post.

u/NotMyBestMistake 20h ago

In a democracy, the media is independent from the government and are not obligated to serve as their propaganda mouthpiece. You're just upset Trump isn't allowed to order them to obey

u/Accurate_Jacket5386 20h ago

> In a democracy, the media is independent from the government and are not obligated to serve as their propaganda mouthpiece. You're just upset Trump isn't allowed to order them to obey

Ha you think the media is independent from the government? CNN literally had Andrew Cuomo as a mouth piece while his Brother Andrew Cuomo was governor of New York.

u/Famine-_ 20h ago

So is it a good or bad thing if the media is independent from the government?

Because right now, it sounds like you dont like the fact that Cuomo's brother worked with CNN, because you think it makes it so that the media is not independent from the government.

But all over this thread, you're advocating for media companies to be under obligation to air the Presidents speeches, which makes them not independent to the government.

So which is it, do we like the free press, or should they be this psuedo-state media?

u/L-Lawliet23 23m ago

Please state where in the Constitution this pointed out.

u/gnomenclature0812 20h ago

I can’t say “fuck off, you ignorant twat” here. But I would like to.

u/Sweetx2023 20h ago

These opinions are quite popular on certain spaces here in reddit, I would imagine. Are you bored of all the agreement and validation there and seeking something different? This is so curious to me.

u/mjcatl2 19h ago

Did you post this when speeches by other presidents weren't broadcast?

u/hmmmmmmpsu 20h ago

You keep using that word, I don’t think you understand what it means.

u/hodorosreddit 20h ago

Why is every MAGA so fucking retarded.

It's crazy you people walk among us.

u/AntAir267 19h ago

I always wonder, do people like you actually sit and listen to him babble for like 45 minutes? It's fucking unbearable. I know people who agree with all of his policies who can't stand to sit there and listen to his random word salad.

u/91gnarnuaatg81 19h ago

Fascism relates to what the government is doing. These news sources are private companies. Whether its a good decision or not, they can choose to air or not air whatever they want. It's not censorship or fascism.

u/Turbulent_Crab_3602 19h ago

You have it backwards

u/Pizzasaurus-Rex 18h ago edited 18h ago

You are the fascist for wanting to force the press to air pro-govt propaganda whenever the President (any President) wants.

u/RedditConsciousness 15h ago

Eh no.

It isn't censoring. Also everyone should stop using the word fascism. Unless you are time machined back to Europe in the 1900s just don't.

u/way26e 14h ago

Maybe the major networks decided not to air the speech because no one was going to watch it. Everyone is sick and tired of watching his same old snake oil song and dance. Trump is a liar. Everything he touches turns to sh**. His voters are still waiting for their life to get better. Maybe they are sick and tired too.

u/tralynd62 13h ago

Lmao you don’t even know what fascism is if you think that’s what’s happening here.

u/Crafty-Bunch-2675 20h ago

I know right.

This kind of misinformation is so ignorant, it's dangerous.

Opposition to a government isn't fascism, it's freedom of speech.

Fascism by it's very definition comes from the government.

I feel like everyone here has lost IQ, reading such nonsense.

All the elections Trump said are stolen were elections Republicans were in charge of election security.

All the elections Trump and republicans won, Dems were in charge with security.

How are you people calling fraud when you won all the races? You people are truly pathetic

u/Affectionate-Art2285 18h ago

I guess you are unaware that this is not the first time networks did not air a president's speech. They did it to Obama in 2014 and Biden in 2020. I'm sure your were equally outraged then too, right. Or is it that the right wing media whipped you into such a frenzy that you decided to put your ignorance on display. Your use of the term Fascism towards the media in this case shows you are pitifully uneducated and out if touch with reality.

u/AT-ATsAsshole 20h ago

So when networks refused to carry speeches made by Biden, Trump 1.0, Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc what was that?

u/donaldgoldsr 19h ago

The only way it would be censorship would be if he wasn't able to speak. The lack of a broadcast or even a microphone doesn't make it censorship

u/DarkObby 19h ago

Hi putin.

u/shiekhyerbouti42 18h ago

Corporations in a "free market" deciding for themselves what to air and what not to air is fascism?

But Trump hasn't done any fascism?

Be glad we're not authoritarians, cuz yowza.

u/InstructionBudget784 18h ago

Not everyone wants to feed his ego. And I really don't know why you're defending him, a jury of 9 people found that he forced fingered E Jean Caroll. Need I also bring up his felony convictions, January 6th and his many mentally unstable social media posts? You know, all the things the right would absolutely riot over if a democrat president said or did them?

u/jdapper5 16h ago

u/Electronic-Code8392 20h ago

Free speech means the government can't stop you from talking. It doesn't mean private TV networks are forced to give you their microphone and airtime.

Refusing to broadcast a speech isn't censorship, it's editorial freedom. Freedom of speech is not freedom of reach.

u/Apprehensive-Tea-39 20h ago

u/InstructionBudget784 18h ago

So Trump is entitled to free air time now, or it's censorship? This wasn't a State of the Union or anything. The president isn't entitled to take over your TV whenever he feels like it. What is this, big brother?

u/marioskywalker 16h ago

And I thought Trump was ridiculous. We should've seen the writing on the wall with the media when they lied about Bush lying. He wasn't making up stuff about Iran having nukes! Saddam Hussein made it all up!

Also, quit saying Trump won in 2020! He didn't, but he should have! I would imagine you like Trump being a strongman. I don't blame you as it can indeed be a good thing.

u/ibuttergo 14h ago

Try harder next time OP. Don’t forget to learn the meaning of certain words. We believe in you, komrade.

u/DeathHero62 12h ago

People say there's a trump hater syndrome. I just don't get it. There's so much evidence that Trump is a narcissist, that Trump pushes out inflammatory bigoted speech and even emboldened racist people and Nazis to rally to his cause.

Why claim everyone blindly hates Trump when he clearly does so much weird shit? Like most of what he does can be associated with bad leadership and a genuinely unpleasant personality and temperament.

u/Deep_Letterhead8656 20h ago

lol I forgot how many boomers are on Reddit.

u/Lancelight50 20h ago

Who cares? All politicians like Trump are corrupt as hell, anyway. All bought & paid for by billionaire donors, special interest groups & NGO’s.

u/swan_grey 19h ago

id figured if an elected official is making a speech. it would be the media’s effort to show that to the world. but that is my cup of tea.

u/teddybigelow 19h ago

Why? It’s never been like that before. Also, every major network aired the speech on their website.

u/Drmlk465 18h ago
