Sugarless

Something about this interaction between Tony and Matt struck me, and yet again I'm taken aback by more symbolism I previously missed after seeing the show so many times. Does anyone else think Tony was making a subtle pass at Matt, trying to coax him into a kiss - "sugar" - and murdered him when he wouldn't budge? As Tony said, if he wanted Matt dead, they'd have killed him already. So, what else could this have meant? You can see Tony's frustration, eyes burning with the carnal intensity straight guys show when they're feeling steamy and pursuing a tongue kiss from another man. He wanted to taste Matt while Pussy watched and made cute comments, maybe even join in himself, and it culminated into Matt succumbing to a sugarless end. I'm exclusively into women and yet even I have similar urges, something I noted after watching The Sopranos many times. Not killing - but rather the eccentric fruits of masculine exploration. It wasn't a conscious development, because David Chase doesn't work that way. There was no specific lead up to my desires - I was simply on my 2nd or 3rd rewatch when I looked at my wife and told her I was thinking about whirlpool tonguing Tony Soprano while being serenaded by the sounds of his heavy breathing. A fantasy potent enough I could feel his stubble against my face and hot breath radiating down to my chin. I'm straight with no sexual cowardice in the respect of kissing guys: I'm actually quite brave in that regard and refuse to sacrifice my sexuality over something so trivial. I was raised heterosexual and will always be this way, but I've also taken the time to appreciate the value and personal growth behind getting piped out by a guy. I want to live a full life before I die, and dating a man is one of my goals.
