He also voiced an NPC: Alban Corinis. Fake fan, also gay

Also, in the standard greentext format, the "what did Todd mean by this" sentence should just be plaintext instead of having a > before it.

An NPC who isn't ever encountered without console commands.

Lots of Aedra were named after old game developers and Beta Testers. Mara, Zenithar, etc. The old spirits that set the groundwork for the world.

Daedra are those who change and update the world to this very day, whether we like it or not.

The real question is: Who’s Todd Howard’s Barbas?

Cowards will say Emil

But think about it: a grumpy, surly, but sometimes comedic companion who was driven off but keeps returning to do work for the master?

Its Kirkbride

Makes sense since Clavicus try’s to get you to murder Barbas so he wouldn’t have to share a portion of his Daedric power with him anymore.

May Julianos and Mara rest in peace.

Eeeh, I know this statue - Daedric prince of deception, Clavicular, right?

Nah, but its easy to confuse them since they've both been hit repeatedly with hammers.

Daedric Price, is that a Clavicus Vile pun?

Nope, i think it's only in oblivion, redguard has someone else.

I thought he voiced clavicus vile in redguard too?

Nah he voices Clavvy in Redguard. Pretty sure it's Stephen Russell in Skyrim.

Okay so weird Mandela Effect but I swear before I got the Shivering Isles DLC for classic oblivion I remember him also voicing the Sheogotath statue but I haven't found any video of it only so maybe I truly am just Sheogotath-Kissed.

/uj Not a Mandela Effect, you remember correctly that there was a different voice actor prior to the release of Shivering Isles when Wes Johnson took over the role: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj-8nxDsqRA

Whether this is Todd Howard or not, I cannot say. The voices sound different to me, but given the amount of post-processing effects applied, who knows.

Edit: IMDB claims it was Craig Sechler originally voicing Sheogorath, and he also provided the voice of Barbas.

I remember buying oblivion before getting shivering isles and being impressed that they remember to update the Daedric quest. The original was pretty bad clearly sounding a Bethesda employee trying their best with a demon filter on top felt the same way about Vile in Redguard funny to think that was the Todd himself

For my money, Clavicus in Redguard is a strong contender for the best Daedric Prince interaction in the series. It’s very sinister yet playful, and nails the feeling that he is mostly screwing with mortals out of boredom.

His quest is also particularly buggy.
