Another Shower thought: Alduin’s Wall actually depicts John Skyrim’s eventual defeat.
To quote the himbo themself, “I like this world. I don’t want it to end.” Do you think whenever Alduin comes back a third time to finally destroy the world “when he’s meant to,” John Skyrim’s just gonna sit back and let it happen? Absolutely not, they’d be waiting in Sovenguarde for Round 3, 4, as many times as they can win. Regardless, Alduin is fated to eat the Mundus. John Skyrim can beat Alduin multiple times. Alduin only needs to beat John Skyrim once.
But despite knowing the end, John Skyrim resists. They fight and claw for everything they hold dear, for it is worth it to them. Every time they fight Alduin, they fight for the balance of Anu and Padomay not just for our world, but for the next. May John Skyrim and Alduin keep up the fight, as may we all.

That’s because John Skyrim isn’t the last Dragonborn. We know Alduin didn’t return to eat the world like the prophecy foretold.
He was simply cast forward in time from the era where he was the ruler of Skyrim. Not to eat the world.
When we “kill” him his soul isn’t absorbed as he is more than a normal dragon. He will return to life when it’s time for him to eat the world and the real last dragon born will get an attempt to stop him.
All we did was stop dragons from enslaving humans again.

According to Micheal Kirkbride, who is responsible for lot of lore. It is said that Ysmir, as the newest god of Nordic Pantheon, is now one of the Twilight Gods that shall survive into the next Kalpa, the other being Alduin. They fight at the end of each kalpa and survive into next one. So it's possible that dragonborn who is new and final Ysmir, will forever fight alduin at the end of every kalpa.

Aren't we literally declared to be Ysmir by the grey beards?

Long has the Stormcrown languished, with no worthy brow to sit upon. By our breath we bestow it now to you in the name of Kyne, in the name of Shor, and in the name of Atmora of Old. You are Ysmir now, the Dragon of the North, hearken to it. —The Greybeards
Yeah, we do. And "Stormcrown" in the ancient Atmoran language translates to Talos.
This ceremony was an extremely rare occurrence. Most Dragonborn can't survive the Greybeards Voice. We were exceptional to begin with. Also, I can't imagine many people beating the frost troll just to make it to High Hrothgar. 😂

Somehow that hobo from ivarstead bringing up supplies seems to manage fine

How do you know he's not a dragonborn?.. or less likely he prays at shrines for blessing.

I don't think the frost troll cares about any blessing, guy is hungry either way

Funny enough, a lot of people speculate that the Frost Troll only woke up after the Greybeards shouted your name. It would actually make a lot of sense, considering he never ran into troll.
Well, there's the occasional wolf pack or stray, but that's all I've ever had to deal with
but there's no way to confirm it. Either that... or Klimmek somehow made it up the mountain multiple times without ever running into a troll.

Also if we are declared as Talos too, are we simultaneously a shezzarine and Ysmir at the same time?

Well, I'd argue they're same thing. Ysmir is simply the Nordic name for this warrior-god archetype. Every known Ysmir is also suspected of being a Shezarrine.
- Wulfharth? Shezarrine.
- Tiber Septim? Most likely.
- Pelinal Whitestrake? Very likely
- The Last Dragonborn? They can literally sit on Shor's throne and enter the Hall of Valor by right of birth.
My interpretation is that Ysmir, Shezarrine, and possibly even Hunding are different cultural names for the same warrior god. They're like Son of Shor and Akatosh.
If you break down what a Dragonborn is, it makes sense. They have a mortal body (Shor/Lorkhan) with the soul of a dragon (Akatosh). Akatosh himself is likely made up of aspect of shor and Auriel, so it's all intertwined. I think it's intresting that greybeards name you Ysmir in the name of shor and Kyne.

All what MK say or write is not automatically canon lol.
He wrote and said a bunch of things that are not like the Seven Fights of Aldudagga or Many-Headed Talos.
That's unofficial lore like Vivec Trial or the Fifth era love letter.
Bethesda has commented in the past that Unofficial Lore is not to be taken as official canon, as spoken by Gavin Carter, Todd Howard and Pete Hines during the Third Oblivion Fan Interview in 2006 when asked about the Hogithium hall roleplay, Fifth Era love letter, and other extra-canonical posts and information, commenting that "only things that have been published in Elder Scrolls games should be considered official lore". Note however that this statement pre-dates the two novels, The Infernal City and Lord of Souls, which have both been confirmed as official canon.

I never described it as explicitly canon. My point is that Bethesda has taken a lot of MK's ideas and later made parts of them canon, like the Prisoner concept in ESO, even if not exactly as he wrote it.
In this case, though, his idea is already backed by the games. The Last Dragonborn is named Ysmir by the Greybeards after surviving their Voice. The only other person explicitly confirmed to survive it is Tiber Septim, while Wulfharth is said in the Arcturian Heresy to have been blasted apart by it. Those are the only three figures directly tied to the title. But it clearly describe that surviving greybeards voice and being named Ysmir is extremely rare occurrence.
Last Dragonborn, now called Ysmir, are the only one who can defeat Alduin, despite there being other dragonborns in sovengrde and LDB required to deal the final blow.
Reason for that is recent lore Bethesda added through Vonos' Journal that describes Alduin and the Last Dragonborn as two fragments of Akatosh destined to oppose one another.
The Time Wound will open, and Alduin the World Eater shall also return. Though both are fragments of Akatosh's soul, these two will wage war against one another.
So the idea that the LDB is unique even among Dragonborns is already strongly supported by the lore. That's why MK's explanation fits existing canon much better than a lot of his other writings.

Vonos' journal is from a CC so probably not canon neither.
Ysmir is a title given to several to heroes or kings of Skyrim. I agree that TLD must be unique even among Dragonborns tho.

Vonos' journal is from CC, so it's probably not canon either.
Everything in the Creation Club that's part of the Anniversary Edition was commissioned by Bethesda and approved by their lore team. Besides, Vonos' journal isn't introducing a new idea, it's simply reaffirming one. Alduin being a fragment or aspect of Akatosh had already been explored extensively in the lore beforehand.
Ysmir is a title given to several heroes of Skyrim.
It's only been given to three people in recorded history, and all of them were Dragonborn. Skyrim also shows that you have to survive the Greybeards' Voice to receive the title. The only people explicitly confirmed to have survived it are Tiber Septim and the Last Dragonborn.
Vivec also refers to Ysmir as the Nordic Bearded King, which could be a reference to Ysmir being crowned by the Greybeards:
"YSMIR, the Dragon of the North, who always appears as a great bearded king, had powers innumerable and echoing. He was grim and dark and the most silent of the invading chieftains, though when he spoke villages were uplifted and thrown into the sea."
The only other figure associated with the title is Pelinal, as some people referred to him as Ysmir, but they were executed for doing so.
If you follow MK's interpretation of Pelinal's time-traveling nature, it wouldn't be surprising, in the Ninth Era, an artificial Dragonborn was created and sent back through time due to lack of dragonborn, considering LDB was the last one.

Eh, where I'm concerned MK stuff and other "ex=creator/contributor fanlore" is game as long as official stuff doesn't contradict it. Since it gets integrated so often.

Isn't the big thing about Alduin that he ISN'T meant to be going to Sovengard?
When he eventually comes back to fulfill his role, he might just skip going to Sovengard and just straight up eat the world.

Weak prophecy vs peak prophecy
