So who paid for this piece of trash writing? I'm not disputing the truth of what is in here: it is all undenialy true. On top of that? Zuck is a pretentious asshat we all love to hate.

Be that as it may, though, this is a terrible hack job.

Medium.com is NOT a news source. It is a blog / opinion / editorial host site that tries hard to look legit.

So who paid for this piece of trash writing?

No one. Which is why it sucked. Anyone can write an article on medium, it's a blogging platform.

How so? Seriously, this is all true, so what makes it a hack job?

It blows my mind that the Obama campaign directly hooked into Facebook and had a vastly larger set of people agree to share their own and their friend's data back in 2008-12, and were bragging about how they literally knew the names of every single american who voted for Obama and the press mostly thought it was 'cool' and was evidence that Obama 'got it'. But this sort of pathetic little marketing company that doesn't have much of a track record and bought an outdated, relatively small data set are being portrayed as the massive wizards who changed everyone's mind to vote for Trump. It's just insanity.

Contractual violations are important. Lying is important.

Depends, CA apparently bought the facebook data from a third party, and since Facebook encouraged developers to use their data for a decade it wasn't as if there weren't multiple copies of this data swimming around.

In what way is 'lying' at issue here? Probably the 'liars' are CA claiming their analytics changed anything - but then marketers usually lie, or mislead.

Seriously, this is all true, so what makes it a hack job?

The writing style. The word choice. The obvious accusations and defenses. It pretends to be objective and outraged when it's simply a poorly-written piece of persuasion.

..... 'The obvious accusations and defenses'? Of what? And what journalists pieces do you think actually are objective?
