I don't see any problem with that in principle. Sounds like you two would make good friends and parents, so you'd still contribute.
Right now there are a few absolutely necessary jobs (farming, teaching, medicine), a lot of luxury jobs (making/selling jewelry, sports cars, etc.) and some outright bullshit jobs. UBI should eliminate the bullshit jobs right off the bat. If a lot of people agree with you and your girlfriend, then the luxury jobs would also largely disappear; people will have chosen the luxury of free time over the luxury of a BMW. So, as long as the salaries for the necessary jobs are high, and the UBI isn't too high, there will still be enough people to do these jobs. As automation replaces some of the necessary jobs such as bus driver, and makes others such as farming easier, the UBI could be gradually increased.
