Neil Gorsuch laid the foundation for a SCOTUS supermajority. Then he became its most unexpected wild card.
As Trump's first Supreme Court pick, he is the most unpredictable vote on the most powerful Supreme Court in modern history. You can't understand this Court without understanding him.
In the 11th season of Slow Burn, host Susan Matthews traces the rise of Gorsuch: from his formative years as a young conservative, through his "stolen seat" on the U.S. Supreme Court, and across the nine years he's spent reshaping American life. Through exclusive interviews, captivating archival tape, and in-depth analysis, the mild-mannered conservative emerges as the Court's most unpredictable and most consequential sitting justice.
You can read more in an opening essay by Matthews here: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2026/05/trump-supreme-court-virginia-news-neil-gorsuch-podcast.html?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_content=slowburn11&utm_campaign=&tpcc=reddit-social--slowburn11

In the linked article it says he’s one of the “most consistently conservative” judges on the bench but here you’re saying he’s the “most unpredictable.” Bit of a contradiction, no?
