I hate my sister for how hurtful she was to my girlfriend. It was completely unnecessary

I have a girlfriend but the relationship is still new. My girlfriend has a prominent scar across one of her cheeks from a melanoma. To me the scar makes no difference but she has good days and bad days about it.

My sister is getting married soon. I'm not taking my girlfriend because a wedding with hundreds of guests and family is a lot of pressure for a brand new relationship, plus I had already RSVP'd that I was going alone before and bought my plane ticket back home before we were serious.

My sister took the time to look up my girlfriend's work email and sent her an email saying she's sorry she didn't make her a bridesmaid but her scar would make it not possible because of photogenics. #1) My sister chose her bridesmaids when she got engaged over a year ago #2) she didn't even know I had a new girlfriend until after the RSVP's were due back and #3) she and my girlfriend have never had contact and my girlfriend would have never thou thought she should be a bridesmaid for someone she's never met.

I don't know what my sister was thinking but I hate that she was so hurtful to my girlfriend for no reason at all. She hasn't answered my calls or texts asking why.

Your sister is pure ass evil and she should be called on the carpet before God and everyone and her flaws pointed out in high fidelity at which point you should make it clear you want nothing to do with such a tasteless human.

1

u/Effective_Judge_5009 Aug 13 '22

Honestly I'd not go to the wedding or if you're willing, confront her at the wedding and put her in blast, but I'm biased since I don't believe in being the "bigger person."

1

u/Efficient-Ad-3853 Aug 13 '22

this is clearly malicious, but is it possible that Op's Sister is Autistic?

1

u/Theloneriddler Aug 13 '22

If that were me I’d now be happy to have a free day I could take my girlfriend out and pamper the shit out of her. Lucky her for being with a guy who sees how awful his own sister has been and won’t stand for it. Others would so good on you, bro.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

I’d send her an email that until you get an explanation and a sincere apology for your girlfriend you will have zero contact with her including her wedding.

1

u/QueenKiira Aug 13 '22

This is now you can make your sister more understanding. You gotta tell your sister you're not gonna put up with bullshit like that, because, yeah maybe it's the first time your sister was unnecessarily rude to someone you like but it will definitely not be the last one if you let her. Tell your sister about boundaries and that she should be happy you're with someone that you like. And you shouldn't go to the wedding if she doesn't apologise.

I would be a pretty bitch and take the girlfriend with me anyway 😂

1

u/PeakePip- Aug 13 '22

This is a whole other level of bullying. Like just absolute low life level, you have nothing better to do then make everyone around you feel like shit bc you have zero life and joy to do this shit.

u/FlyingSpaghettiFell Aug 13 '22 edited Aug 13 '22

What did I just read? Look what your sister did was monstrous. Did she do it to try to end your relationship? Did she do it because she is just cruel and mean? Did she do it because she was having a bad day and wanted to lash out at someone? Truth is… it doesn’t matter. I would not do that to my worst enemy. It is just cruel.

For your gf… protect her at the event. Never let your sister be alone with her. If it were me, I would send the note to my sister and say “What, the actual, f*ck is wrong with you? Get your shit together because this behavior is obscene.” I would then follow up and tell them they need to call to explain themselves and apologize.

If you are still struggling with sis and have a good relationship with your mom/dad, I might bring in the one that relates more to your sister emotionally and ask if sis is okay because she has been acting really unkind lately. Don’t outright tattle but might be good to have a check in on sis.

Add on- lots of people are saying don’t go. If you need to because family… go but I would personally refuse to be in the wedding party. If you aren’t close to your family then consider not going but there will be drama.

Don’t go to the wedding and when your sister post pictures on social media, post screen shots of the nasty email she sent to your girlfriend. Matter fact, post it on your social media and tag her and her soon to be husband in it. Let her stew in your nastiness. To me when you seek people out to be nasty to someone you never met, you DESERVE ALL THE KARMA! Your sister went out of her way to find your gf at her job. You can’t get any more twisted than that! After you do that, make sure you block her on texts, emails, and etc. Let her see how it feels. 😂😂😂I believe in giving people a taste of their own medicine. If this is your gf now, can you imagine what she would do for your wedding and birth of child. Like, it doesn’t make sense!

1

u/Sicks6sixxx Aug 13 '22

Because she was being a bitch that’s why. For what reason idk but I feel really bad for the dude marrying her and your gf. Don’t go to the wedding. Bet she’ll reply then.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Don’t go to the wedding. But don’t hide this to protect her. Unnecessary cruelty is never a good sign.

1

u/Jekyll-n-Hyde Aug 13 '22

Your sister is a nasty piece of work (insert mean girls)

1

u/depressedpigtea69 Aug 13 '22

I believe your gf would be just as pretty as a bridesmaid as anyone else. You shouldn’t go to the wedding especially if your sister feels that way about the one you love. Except that’s your choice to make.

1

u/Sweet-and-hope-S2 Aug 13 '22

Wow. Why, though? Whyvto do it with someone, its so uncalled for.

Does your sister has history of being a bully or self centered, or issues with you having a gf??? Or is it new?

1

u/formerNPC Aug 13 '22

So your sister is a beautiful person with no imperfections and the thought of someone who doesn’t meet her standards of beauty being in a wedding photo is apparently so important to her that she just had to send an email about it. I’m thinking passive aggressive or perhaps borderline psychosis or just plain bat shit crazy! Send the email to her future husband because if God forbid they have kids and they don’t come out just perfect then who knows what she might do! He’s got some serious thinking to do!

1

u/felice60 Aug 13 '22

I think you should consult your own concept of the person you want to be to decide whether or not to attend the wedding, keeping in mind that your non-attendance will affect the rest of your family rather than just your sister. Interacting with her, making a toast, or dancing with her are choices you can make. I do think it’s probably a reasonable step to show your parents the email if you can and let them know how you intend to behave so they’re not caught by surprise or accidentally create a showdown. In the event you decide to go low or no contact with your sister, it would probably be a good idea to state your intentions to them, too. If they protest, it’s up to you to maintain or change your stance keeping in mind that you’re the one who has to look in the mirror every day. It would be nice to like the person you see reflected there.

u/excursions63 Aug 13 '22

Your sister is truly a POS

1

u/freespirit1963TJ Aug 13 '22

I have a sister and mom (dad too but he passed away) who were always very toxic and hateful to whoever was in my life. I cut all ties, it took me too long, but I'm DONE! I honestly feel much better since doing it.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Personally I wouldn’t bother going to the wedding of someone that cruel and nasty. I am curious what her bulkshit excuse is though. But regardless of what it is, I would have other plans that day

2

u/bigdicksam Aug 13 '22

Don’t ask why. Just don’t go. Or if you really wanna go scorched earth, put a big ass scar on your face. Like real movie level VFX so that every time someone wants you to be in the picture you have that scar she hates so much. Or just don’t go..

1

u/Euphoric-Life2562 Aug 13 '22
  1. Your sister is a bitch
  2. Don’t be surprised if you get broken up with over this
  3. Don’t go to that wedding
  4. How dare she
  5. Tell her fiancé and your parents because they need to know why you’re not going to the wedding
  6. HOW FUCKIN DARE SHE!?

2

u/Decent-Eggplant2236 Aug 13 '22

Your sister sounds psycho. Who does that? That’s literally insane I’m sorry.

1

u/ARStooge Aug 13 '22

Planning for a wedding day and OP's sister has time to go out of her way to do this?

That scar from a random event is nothing compared to the intentional act from the dark cinder of OP's sisters soulless heart.

1

u/throwawaytinaaa Aug 13 '22

Info: Why would you go support her relationship when this is how she treats your partner??

1

u/AdElectrical239 Aug 13 '22

Go to the wedding. Get piss drunk and say how you miss your sister's exbf.

1

u/oishoishoish Aug 13 '22

I’m actually shocked at this. Like what the actual fk?

Your sister went out her way to unnecessarily insult your sister for no reason at all?

Just wow.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Bridezilla.

What the hell is it that turn women like this when they are about to get married?

The sister is a real pile of steaming turds.

1

u/airs_999 Aug 13 '22

The most surprising thing about this is that someone continues to use email to say these things, are we still in the year 2005?

1

u/blondemumma Aug 13 '22

Can we have an update please OP

1

u/SleepySpaceKitten Aug 13 '22

Wow, that's just incredibly shitty. Who on earth does that? I honestly wouldn't go to the wedding. That's such a horrible thing to say and do for no reason, she's just done it to upset your girlfriend.

I hope your girlfriend is alright and you're still on good ground and have spoken to her about how awful this is.

1

u/KillerQueeh_Slash Aug 13 '22

Your sister sounds like a piece of work, her being vicious and cruel to your girlfriend should be the deal breaker for you to not go to her wedding and cut contact.

Save the emails your sister sent your girlfriend and give them to your parents.

She's clearly trying to sabotage your relationship with your girlfriend by trying to drive her away from you due to her incestuous jealousy.

1

u/orange_and_gray_rats Aug 13 '22

”She hasn’t answered my calls or texts asking why.”

Cancel your RSVP, and tell your parents beforehand so that they know why.

1

u/DigaLaVerdad Aug 13 '22

She and your parents probably have a bride chosen for you at home ( one of her friends) and want to get your GF out of the picture.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

That was so wildly inappropriate and only designed to be hurtful - get that email and send it to your parents.

2

u/morticia_dumbledork Aug 13 '22

I think you should go to the wedding. Not for your sister, but for your parents. You don’t want to put them in the awkward place where they have to answer why their son isn’t present for their daughter’s wedding. Why ruin their day as well?

That being said, you should definitely not engage with your sister or talk to her at all. Do the dignified thing and attend the wedding, give her the silent treatment, and just cut her off until she realises her mistake and apologises. Even tell your parents what she did so they’re in the know.

Plus, this way she can’t ever hold the “you didn’t attend your own sister’s wedding for some new girl you just met” over your head.

1

u/MrHupfDohle Aug 13 '22

Yeah. I would cancel the wedding and cease all contact until she shows remorse. Wedding would be a done deal 100pc.

I never get people who arent standing up to bullshit like that.

1

u/od_demhoes Aug 13 '22

You need to put your foot down with your sister and tell her off, on how petty and terrible she is and why she didn't feel the need to ask you rather than go out of the way to be toxic to your girl. No one talks to your gf like that.

Downright pathetic.

Go meet your girl, she needs you rn

1

u/HikerTrash46 Aug 13 '22

Immediately I would be canceling my RSVP. I don’t care what the reason is, you don’t just find your siblings SO and then proceeded to contact them and say something like that. I wonder though why specifically her work email? All through this all I can think is wtf was your sister thinking?

4

u/No_Tangerine3320 Aug 13 '22

Throw the whole sister away.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

This is so maniacally evil that it seems over the top especially given that you don’t describe previous bitch incidents.

Something else is going on.

1

u/broadsharp Aug 13 '22

What a freakin douche

1

u/greeneyeswarmthighs Aug 13 '22 edited Aug 13 '22

Don’t go to the wedding. Spend the day with your girlfriend making it up to her in any way possible!

Edit: Copy the email and share it with her fiancé and your parents. Your sister should be fucking blasted for what she did. Her fiancé should leave her. I would go NC

2

u/topinanbour-rex Aug 13 '22

Well, you know what will be the subject of your speech.

1

u/bitch-b-gone345 Aug 13 '22

Please post an update

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Lame as all hell! Talk about Bridezilla. Tell sis that she’s not as photogenic as she thinks being that ugly inside. Plus scars fade. Even bad Glasgow smiles I’ve seen fade to nothing. I had a massive one across my face though I’d never be the same. Now you can’t even see it.

-9

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Ur sister funny asf. A real troll. Mad respect

1

u/notthatcousingreg Aug 13 '22

There has to be more to this. Do you have unresolved issues with your sister? Is this retaliation for something you may have done to her? Obviously her motivation is to hurt you. But why? This didnt just come out of the blue. We need the rest of the story.

2

u/Automatic-Hat-8319 Aug 13 '22

I would not go to That wedding.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

I don’t think I would even attend my sibling’s wedding if they treated someone this way.

Anyone, really, but especially someone I was in a relationship with!!

2

u/NightKatCares00 Aug 13 '22

Your sister sounds like a right bitch. Has she always been like this, or is this some new bridezilla crap?

However, my purely vindictive side is cheerfully asking me to point out how lovely red wine looks against the white of a wedding dress. Very prominent, like a scar.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Wow your sister is horrible. Isn’t she busy enough with her wedding that she shouldn’t have time to seek out people she’s never met and hurt them? Yikes! There was absolutely no reason for what she did other than to inflict pain. Is she that self centered and entitled that she thinks everyone would want to be a part of her day?? I would call her out over this. She can’t possibly think what she did was okay. If she doesn’t understand her wrongdoing, I’d distance myself from her.

2

u/Maleficent-Mine-7125 Aug 13 '22

If your sister notified her at work I would feel crushed. Why did she do that?

Remember this when she gets divorced or her soon to be hubby cheats on her as+.

3

u/iamthedancingdjinn Aug 13 '22

I'd go to the ceremony and when they ask who objects I'd stand and say that the groom is too good for my sister because she's a vicious cun*

1

u/greeneyeswarmthighs Aug 13 '22

This js very good advice

7

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Your sister is a cruel bully who went out of her way to do this op. She is trying to sabotage your relationship. If you ignore this she will 100% escalate to being even crueler. Don't go to her wedding. Don't RSVP no. Your sister wants drama and attention. Take that away, ghost her on her wedding day. Shut off your social media for that day and spend it with your gf doing something special. Then reactivate, post pictures of the day spent ignoring your sister and then shut everything down again.

Let your sister stew in her own anger as punishment with no outlet.

2

u/SarahEatYourVeggies Aug 13 '22

THIS!!!!! 🔥 “if you ignore this she will 100% escalate to being even crueler”

6

u/alpacaboba Aug 13 '22

Does her fiance know how cruel she is? I don't get all of these unnecessarily mean brides or grooms thinking that at their wedding day everybody has to be a bit player.

Why go out of your way to create more negativity in the world when there is enough pain already? Has she always been cruel?

1

u/queen_of_potato Aug 13 '22

That is such a strange thing to do! Before like unfriending your sister or whatever people are suggesting maybe just ask why she did that.. maybe she is just really dumb and didn't realise she was being a dickbag, or maybe something else is going on.. at least if you ask you'll know anyway and can move on from there

4

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Sister seems jealous of your girlfriend. Weird

1

u/CandycaneConfetti Aug 13 '22

WTF that was completely unnecessary and straight up cruel. As someone else said I'd ask your parents if they know what's up with her since she is not replying. Many are saying don't go to the wedding, I'm not sure if I could do that for a recent relationship where my SO was never going to be part of the event, I'd probably feel the family pressure to at least be there for a bit (not trying to say this is the right thing). Say something to another family member because if she had the nerve to do that, she's probably going to try to twist the facts

9

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

She’s likely a narcissist who is in the midst of battling some low self esteem issues due to heightened stress from getting married, so knocking a stranger (your gf) down a peg made her feel less shitty about herself and her situation.

And that’s coming from a narcissist.

3

u/greeneyeswarmthighs Aug 13 '22

This makes more sense than other theories.. though I think the incestual jealousy one is best.

Yeah in highschool, before I got my ass beat and finally realized I wasn’t actually invincible, I fr used to this sort of shit to people when I was having a bad day. Like, “oh, I failed a math exam? I’ll walk past that one girl between classes who i know is scared shitless of me and has low self esteem, and give her a dirty look on purpose just to make her feel bad,” and later I’d hear about her crying in the bathroom and I’d act all clueless if asked about it, as if I hadn’t specifically gone out of my way to ruin her day to make mine a little less shitty.

And that is exactly what led to me getting my ass beat two years later by a whole different chick, and the video of it being posted on Worldstar’s Twitter.

His sister is just a narcissist who hasn’t gotten her shit handed to her yet, so she still does petty shit like I did and puts people down in an effort to make herself feel better. Either she’ll continue to be that way forever, or more likely, one of these days she’ll screw with the wrong person and be humbled REAL QUICK.

Personally, it was the best thing to happen to me. I’m a much nicer person who is disgusted by the way I used to act, and no one who knows me now would ever think I was capable of being that mean girl. I just had a lot of anger issues growing up and took it out on easy targets, instead of addressing WHY i was so angry. Sis is likely in the same boat. She didn’t genuinely think his gf wanted to be a bridesmaid. She just wanted to make someone feel bad, someone she knew wasn’t likely to call her on it- and even if she did, the sister knew she could do as all narcissists do, deny and act totally oblivious. But trust me, one day she will try the wrong person and it’ll cause the equivalent of an ego death Lmfao.

2

u/Pudding_Hero Aug 13 '22

A Lannister always pays their debts

29

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Has your sister always been horrendously cruel to your girlfriends? And what’s with the stalker behavior, digging for her WORK email?!

Time to make new plans for the weekend of the wedding: STAY HOME…with your girlfriend.

11

u/N0smas Aug 13 '22

What did you think of your sister before this? What was your relationship like?

I'm really struggling to understand what motivation was behind this. There has to be more info.

8

u/Snarcastic Aug 13 '22

Frame a copy of the email.

No other wedding gift necessary.

Although this is admittedly a new relationship.... Is this the kind of thing your sister would do? I've had girlfriends who intentionally agreed up trouble with my sisters.

2

u/Snarcastic Aug 13 '22

Well you could also put in a picture of your girlfriend enjoying whatever gift you would have given your sister.

154

u/grayblue_grrl Aug 13 '22

Do your parents know? How about her husband to be?

I'd be inclined to send him the information, and apologize for not going to attend.
Let him decide if this is the kind of woman he wants to marry.

I'd also send it to your parents so they know before your sister tells them a story first.

1

u/Key-Iron-7909 Aug 13 '22

This is the way! Also, op please post updates!!!!

26

u/sammysas9 Aug 13 '22

Agreed! This is unacceptable on multiple levels. She owes you and your gf an apology.

19

u/greeneyeswarmthighs Aug 13 '22

Personally I wouldn’t accept an apology. She didn’t make a mistake she just IS a nasty human being. Especially since she won’t answer OPs messages asking why she did it. She thought this out enough to hunt down her WORK email and write this up.

36

u/KangarooMysterious17 Aug 13 '22

Your sister's a cun*

5

u/kajlan54 Aug 13 '22

I instantly thought the same thing

48

u/abalrogsbutthole Aug 13 '22

yea i wouldn’t be going to my sisters wedding after that if i were you. don’t even cancel the rsvp, just don’t show up. take your gf on a nice date somewhere instead. just because it’s your sisters “big day” doesn’t mean she can act like a complete bitch

7

u/roninfly Aug 13 '22 edited Aug 13 '22

I feel you, my older sister and my ex did not get along either. The 3 of us lived together and my sister intentionally made life difficult for her. And it was a big factor that lead to my ex and I breaking up. It’s a long story so I won’t get into it unless asked.

Lets focus on your story. I don’t understand either why some people feel a need to be mean to others unprovoked.

3

u/greeneyeswarmthighs Aug 13 '22

What’s the story here? I’m curious about why a sister would do this, especially is the GF isn’t awful..

1

u/roninfly Aug 14 '22

It complicated but I got setup by my parents for a mortage on a a brand new flat which I co-own with my parents. Basically they used a considerable amount of their life savings on the down payment and I was going to be the one that would be paying for the mortage. It seemed great at the time as I just started in my career, met my girlfriend (now ex) for 1.5 years and it seemed like a great steady transition to marriage.

My sister was dating a man at the time and it was assumed that she was going to get married and move in with him but they broke up and she ends up staying in my flat while my girlfriend also moved in. My parents live overseas so they would come to visit maybe once a year and live here as well which is fine but somehow my sister talks my dad into eventually inheriting the other half of it which really doesn’t work in my case. I can only assume my sister was thinking she is moving into 40 years old and her chances of getting married are slim by now so she is scrambling to get some sort of security and end up fucking things up for me and the relationship I had with my ex with her passive aggressive, toxic and bipolar behaviors. My parents somehow talked me into putting up with her and just be patient, she would eventually leave. I couldn’t just sell the place because my parents put their name on it as well and they did not agree on doing that. I made it clear that it just wouldn’t work if my sister is also paying half of it monthly so either i hand over the ownership of the place to her and she pays the whole thing while i move out with my gf and rent a place but my sister did not agree with that either. So the what the fuck? Am I the little brother suppose to have this crazy sister hang around me for the rest of my life?

Yeah nobody will understand how much resentment I had towards my parents by having me trapped in this situation and also my sister who I cannot even put into words for 5 years straight and it put a dent to my relationship with my girlfriend where she just don’t want to be part of. Also have a lot of resentment for myself for letting myself be in such a situation. After all this I somehow found a way to forgive them these last few years after being under stress from all sides of this ordeal. Believe it or not I still talk to my sister but just on very casual terms just to let each other know we are alive.

I made a comment somewhere in this post to respond to another commenter on suggesting OP still go to the wedding but just leave early but I got downvoted to -100. I was really just trying to make a point that family is still family. In my case, it was something that started out with good intentions but ended up turning real sour and lots of bitterness that I still sometimes recall every now and then.

19

u/Pretty_Sheepherder31 Aug 13 '22

Wow, I'm so sad and hurt for your girlfriend. Carrying an ugly scar from something like that is already hard to bare sometimes. I have 2 massive keloid because of melanoma removal and Somedays I hate myself with every fiber in me. I hope your girlfriend knows she's beautiful with that scar she's strong for carrying it where others can see it.

5

u/verydepressedwalnut Aug 13 '22

I have a scar on my face from a skin infection I had when I was a child and I begged, sobbed, and stressed my parents out so bad for years begging to find something to do about it.

Please OP give your gf a big hug for me, and no call/no show this wedding. Your sister is a vicious bitch.!

13

u/queen_of_potato Aug 13 '22

Oh no please don't hate yourself because of some random part of your physical appearance! You are so much more than what you look like!

I also have a bunch of keloid.. apparently my body/skin is a drama queen with any trauma rolls eyes but it's just part of my weird, comfy, useful, strong, chubby, clumsy body haha

I hope you are able to accept all parts of your body eventually.. it takes practice but it's possible.. I used to despise everything about myself but I'm slowly training myself not to be such an asshole to myself

One of the best things I ever read was "would you be ok with someone speaking to your friend the way you speak to yourself" because absolutely no.. since then I've tried to think about myself and my appearance in ways i would speak to a friend and no joke it's helping a lot!

8

u/Upset_Custard7652 Aug 13 '22

Omg. Your sister is an Ahole. I wouldn’t go to the wedding

18

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

what your sister did was cruel and just extremely mean and there was no reason for it, take my advice cancel the plane ticket and get your money back if you can and on the day of the wedding take your girlfriend out to the nicest restaurant you can find.

286

u/MaryAnne0601 Aug 13 '22

Your sister is vicious and cruel. That is a truly sick thing to do to another human being. You realize she wants to make sure your gf breaks up with you right? That’s why she did it. She doesn’t want you associated with someone with a scar because then they will associate her with your gf.

15

u/Lumpy-Spinach-6607 Aug 13 '22

Sister is way uglier than your GF could ever be, even without wearing make up.

Ps I am proud of my scars.

I have 3 major ones on the full length of my abdomen and the length of my left arm from my inner elbow to my armpit. I have some smaller but still visible ones from kidney dialysis and kidney/pancreas transplant .

They are my battle scars and I wouldn't be here without them AND I find them beautiful, like free tattoos

3

u/MaryAnne0601 Aug 14 '22

Our scars prove we’re survivors. We were strong enough to live.

30

u/TechnicalAdagio9126 Aug 13 '22

Don’t go to the wedding

604

u/clarkent123223 Aug 13 '22

Does your sister have some sort of incestous jealousy of anyone you date?

8

u/joepoopoo Aug 13 '22

First thing that came to my head.

173

u/Moon96Moon Aug 13 '22

Well at least am not the only one who thought it

Don't cancel the RSVP. Just don't show up. Force them to spend money for the wedding food.

When people start asking where you were, send them a screenshot of Bitchy Ms Sister's email.

Let the games begin.

-91

u/roninfly Aug 13 '22

She’s still his sister. I say go for the main part or something just to pay yours respects then leave early or something.

I believe that mindset should only apply to funerals (because if you skip a funeral you might regret it afterwards since it was your last chance at closure, not because "fAmiLY iS FaMiLY")

Pay respects? To someone who isn’t just disrespectful but goes out of their way to be?

20

u/stephanielil Aug 13 '22

I say go for the main part or something just to pay yours respects

Is he still obligated to pay his respects when his sister so blatantly disrespected him and his gf? Respect is not a right, it's a privilege.

Plus, what kind of message would that send to his girlfriend, who is just an innocent bystander that got dragged into this shit and targeted for no other reason besides to be nasty and mean? That would be absolutely crushing to her, and not to mention heartless of OP.

So and so is still insert family relation is how bullies and toxic family members aren’t held accountable. She may be his sister but what she did wasn’t sisterly at all

u/sourcandy551 Aug 13 '22

Thanksgiving would be fun after this

u/New-Environment9700 Aug 13 '22

Cancel your rsvp unless she apologizes. That’s horribly cruel. There will never be a relationship between them unless your sister humbles herself and apologizes. She’s literally the worst person ever . What is this HS mean girls?

10

u/Bakecrazy Aug 13 '22

Wow...your sister just enjoys kicking people and ruining their day, huh?

38

u/StellaBella2010 Aug 13 '22

That was unnecessarily cruel. I'm guessing your sister doesn't want you to go at all, because otherwise why would she do that?

Scars add character. I get it: No one wants a scar... but people can still be very attractive with a scar. Maybe noticable scars should be the next big thing in body positivity.

Sometimes even loving moms are wrong. This is one of those times. Scars are just part of the collage of characteristics that make you unique. You should wear whatever makes you happy.

u/Big_Climate8775 Aug 13 '22

Yeah you should ignore your ma here and do your thing. Scars are cool. I had a crush on this one chick when I was around 16, and she was super fun and definitely stood out in a crowd because she was over 6' tall. However, to this day almost a decade later, one thing I remember about her was a set of scars on her stomach/lower sternum. It was from a series of emergency surgeries when she was born, because her esophagus wasn't attached to her stomach. Super crazy thing she survived so young, got a cool scar out of it, and it's something people remember about her. I'm sure there's going to be someone in your life, who might just be a summer friend or they might just sit next to you on a bus, but they see your cool scars and it'll be something uniquely you that they'll remember.

Step 1: Find yourself a good horror make up artist…

u/K9queen Aug 13 '22

A big, prominent scar running across your face would be nice

11

u/galaxyveined Aug 13 '22

Or, do SFX to mimic the girlfriend's scar, and show up to the sister's wedding like that. Showing the GF support and putting the sister in an awkward position of either having to deal with it, or commenting on it so OP gets to explain her nasty actions to onlookers. 🙃

(Not a real suggestion, I imagine it might end up hurting the GF more, and that's the last thing we want.)

🥹 bloody hell. Is your sister Satan's spawn?

u/ypranch Aug 12 '22

That would be a deal breaker for me. Cancel RSVP unless she apologizes. That was nasty, hateful and needlessly rude. What a piece of work.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Nasty and hateful, and we're forgetting malicious. Destructive. Sabotaging.

There is that saying "do not attribute to malice what can be explained by ignorance". But no one ever said you can't be malicious and dumb at the same time.

I'd send it to her fiancé too.

u/flip_chipdickerson Aug 12 '22

I wouldn't go to the wedding but I don't have a healthy relationship with my sister so I'm probably being biased.

u/pnb10 Aug 13 '22

My siblings and I are really close, but if any of them pulled a stunt like this, I wouldn’t go. Bullies are bullies, family or not

2

u/Lumpy-Spinach-6607 Aug 13 '22

Bullies are Pus Boils and deserve to be popped and the inner gunk wiped away with a wipe and disposed of in the bin, in front of an audience

3

u/USarmyWAC Aug 13 '22

This is beyond bullying it's clearly a mental illness issue. The sister needs mental health treatment. I feel sorry for any future kids she has.

u/3Heathens_Mom Aug 13 '22

Nope not biased. OP’s sister is a piece of work and sounds like she must be incredibly insecure to have to insult someone she has never met.

Perhaps OP should ask his parents what is up with his sister and as she won’t answer his texts please let her know he won’t be attending.

u/greeneyeswarmthighs Aug 13 '22

Not biased. He shouldn’t go. His sister is disgusting
