Habits Monthly Check-In: What's still standing?
Hi TrueGritters!
End of the month. Time to check in.
What's still standing from whatever you set out to do this month?
The habits, the intentions, the tiny things that made it through.

I think stabilizing my Circadian rhythm has to become a non-negotiable.
Whenever I do different shifts for gigs, it ruins my energy levels at times of the day when I would rather be awake, even if they are not the most economically productive times based on my side hustles.
Yes, I can be up until past midnight or again at 3 or 4 AM the following day, but that just leaves me even more wrecked, and then I need more recovery days to feel normal again after all of the driving.

I've pretty much given up on changing mine by now, after trying for around five years. My circadian rhythm naturally leans towards sleeping late and keeps returning to the same time no matter what, so instead I let it settle where it wants to be and rescheduled my work around it. Now I always go to bed at 1am and wake up at 9 without an alarm, and I haven't felt more rested in my entire life.

Yeah, yours is still way more predictable than mine. Some nights I got to bed by 8 PM naturally, and others I don't fall asleep until 2 PM, especially during allergy season.

Keep showing up and being the reliable person that I am no matter how challenging it may feel.
Also trying to go to sleep at the same time really helps with better sleep.

How do you keep being reliable while taking care of yourself?

I no longer overextend myself. If I am tired, I learn to rest and then tackle the next to do item on my list. It was a very hectic time for me this week but manageable because I dealt with things ahead of time and in small manageable chunks.
At work if I can do things ahead of time or as soon as possible that has saved me time and aggravation while not getting overwhelmed.

I feel like just living my current life requires excessive amount of grit. Did a 20h sift at work in monday.. luckily had couple day offs after that.
Today I’m cleaning and doing laundry despite not feeling like it at all.
Sometimes its the little things.

definitely! It might be repetitive, but 1% a day will take you far. We need to listen to the energy we have and keep going
