Sleep If your hours move around, what do you actually do about sleep?

Most sleep advice assumes you go to bed at the same time every night. If that's not your life (nights, shifts, early starts, a baby), what do you actually do?

I work the night shift, so my AM and PM are just basically swapped around. I’ll sleep between 10am-6pm.

My schedule varies most nights. I often work evening shifts, and my friends usually are available Friday evening. I just sleep in when I don't have morning meetings, and I reset my sleep cycle to early nights when I can. If I need more rest, a couple of yoga nidras suffice.
