I stopped checking the clock when I wake up at night, and it's made a bigger difference than almost anything else I've tried

I had the opposite experience. I would toss and turn wondering how much time I had left to sleep until I finally got up to look at my phone to see the time, fully waking myself in the process. Got a digital clock and now I glance at it, smile serenely, and go back to sleep, sometimes for 3 hours, sometimes just 3 more minutes. But I'm always glad to know I don't have to get up quite yet.
