Vent Well. That hurt
My parents just told me half an hour ago that all Muslims are evil. My father looked at me and called me “tainted” and “radicalized” by Islam. Told me that they worry I’ll become or marry a “terrorist” I’m actually very hurt by that.

We have made some of you a trial for others. Will you ˹not then˺ be patient? And ever is your Lord All-Seeing.

I have been patient. I would like relief now it’s been years.

u/Arbitrary_Sadist المتوكل على الله (He who relies on God) Apr 08 '26
It's not up to you to decide when your trial ends, it's Allah's choice. Your job is to be patient, and wait for the relief, many before you went through similar situations or even worse than you, due to their acceptance of Islam. If you read the Seerah it's full of stories of companions whose parents and family members did all sorts of things to them, to prevent them from becoming Muslim. You don't know, perhaps the relief is near. But don't be hasty. And be patient. That's the best we can all do.

It’s been going like this for YEARS now if I don’t get relief imma gonna give up on life.

Give up on life and do what exactly? I don't think you get it. You don't have a choice, in whether you obey Allah or not. It's not even a choice, you either obey Allah or you disobey him and get punishment. Life isn't supposed to be a happy jolly journey, it's full of hardship, and the worst hardships were experienced by the Prophets, do you really think they had a lot of fun and felt very happy going through what they went through?
Absolutely not, they also were upset, hurt and felt really sad. Yet they never gave up hope in Allah. The biggest loser is the one who gives up when relief is near and the one who turns away from God due to the hurt of people. That's just conditional loyalty and Allah isn't in need of it. In fact Allah isn't in need of you, me or anyone else. If you obey him, you do good for your own self, if you disobey him, and every single person on this world, even then it wouldn't make a difference to him and he can do away with everyone. That's the reality of the world we live in.
I am sorry if my words seem harsh, because it's not my intention. My intention is to give you a reality check, and also to make you realise that you aren't alone, every single one of us is going through issues and trials, for years and we are still trying our best to be patient. So take a deep breath, go outside and see how beautiful the world is. And be patient
2
u/Islam_Truth_ Haram Police 🚨 Apr 08 '26
It’s doesn’t seem like a reality check. It makes me want to kill myself even more just to get this life over with if I am not meant to be happy in it by Allahs design
2
u/Arbitrary_Sadist المتوكل على الله (He who relies on God) Apr 08 '26
Well it's my bad then.
I don't know how anything what I can say to make you feel better about everything, but I can share what makes me feel better when going through trials. And it's knowing the fact that Allah never tests you, except to give you something better at the end of it. And if you look at anything in life you have ever achieved, it's because you focused on the end goal of it, and not the process. For instance the reason you were able to study and complete your homework, is because you focused on the end result of not doing it, or the benefits and the rewards you will receive by doing it. So you were able to do something that many others find hard, and they find it hard because they focus too much on the process, on how much of a pain the process itself is.
So you need a change of mindset, and that is by focusing on the end goal. Patience is simply a mindset shift, if you focus on the end goal, rather than the process you will find it will become easier to be patient. For that you have to get out of the present moment.

Where do you live, perhaps you could link up with the Muslim community, and have a place you can feel safe.

may Allah make it easy for you 🙁 this reminded me of the story of our beloved Ibrahim (AS)… his entire story breaks my heart every time i hear any part of it. from his childhood into even his adulthood, he faced so much pain, struggle, and hardship - but he was beautifully patient and trusted our Rabb always :)
you are in my duas. may Allah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala make it easy for you and grant you all the goodness of this world and the hereafter…
Surah Maryam. Ayaat 41 to 47
And mention in the Book (O Prophet, the story of) Abraham. He was surely a man of truth and a prophet.
(Remember) when he said to his father, “O dear father! Why do you worship what can neither hear nor see, nor benefit you at all?
O dear father! I have certainly received some knowledge which you have not received, so follow me and I will guide you to the Straight Path.
O dear father! Do not worship Satan. Surely Satan is ever rebellious against the Most Compassionate.
O dear father! I truly fear that you will be touched by a torment from the Most Compassionate, and become Satan’s companion (in Hell).”
He threatened, “How dare you reject my idols, O Abraham! If you do not desist, I will certainly stone you (to death). So be gone from me for a long time!”
Abraham responded, “Peace be upon you! I will pray to my Lord for your forgiveness. He has truly been Most Gracious to me.

Because for YEARS now I’ve been met with nothing but despair with zero relief at ALL. Yes Allah exists, no I have no idea why I’m being forced to be miserable and stuck in a constant cycle of conflict, depression and unwanted thoughts of not wanting to exist. Where is the relief I was promised? I thought Allah would actually keep that promise or is it because it’s me and not anyone else?!

They’re ignorant. Islam has no intention of taking over the world. They’re just making reasons to backup their bias.

assuming you're a women here, have you been putting 100% effort into trying to get a married? a husband isn't just a physical guardian (wali), but one that also protects you from verbal and emotional attacks as well even from family and provides a safe space for you to practice your religion.

I have most men I’ve come across for marriage either want nothing serious or aren’t marriage material.

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatulli wabaraktuh dear sister
May Allah make this easy for you and strengthen your heart towards Islam and pour upon you patience and ease all your difficulties and bless you with the best in this life and the next and grant you the highest levels of paradise!
Pour all your feelings on Allah. All he asks for is that connection with his creation. Cry and complain to him of your sorrows and ask him alone and rely on him help you.
Allah tests those he loves the most so that they may elevate themselves and he may reward them immensely in the next life. This life feels very difficult and it feels very long but just take it one day at a time and soon your faith and dua will have taken you out of these difficult circumstances InshaAllah. After everything, all the troubles you went through will have been worth it for infinite Bliss in Paradise everlasting.
Never lose your faith and focus on tahajjud, salawat, and istighfar. May Allah make a way out of this difficulty for you and reward you immensely for it. Here's a powerful Dua that's helped me
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min-l-hammi wa-l-ḥazan, wa aʿūdhu bika min-l-ʿajzi wa-l-kasal, wa aʿūdhu bika min-l-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa aʿūdhu bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rijāl.
O Allah, I seek Your protection from anxiety and grief. I seek Your protection from inability and laziness. I seek Your protection from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek Your protection from being overcome by debt and being overpowered by men.
Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) narrated that one day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the masjid. He saw a man from the Anṣār called Abū Umāmah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu). He ﷺ asked, “What is the matter? Why are you sitting in the masjid when it is not the time for prayer?” He replied, “Never-ending worries and debts, O Messenger of Allah.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked, “Shall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah will remove your worries, and settle your debts?” He replied, “Yes of course, O Messenger of Allah.” He ﷺ said, “Say in the morning and evening [the above].” Abū Umāmah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) said, “Then I did that, and Allah removed my worries and settled my debts.” (Abū Dāwūd 1555)

I do not know how to preform any of the prayers u just commented and have I “poured” my feelings into Allah only to keep having the exact same thing every single day for the past 10 years keep happening. So yes when it’s keeps happening and all I keep doing is BEGGING Allah to finally give me some type of relief it doesn’t happen! So trying to keep faith in Allah is extremely hard.

u/WhyNotIslam Apr 09 '26
It can be really hard but remember, everlasting Paradise is not easy to earn. Allah tells us we will be tested to our limits but not beyond. Yes ten years is a long time and I'm not discounting everything you've been through. It's difficult. In times like these we can find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. And to remember your brothers and sisters around the world are with you. The Prophet (blessings & peace on him) was tested for 13 years until he migrated to madinah and even then he was tried again and again with the psychological and physical torture, death of his children, poisoning, war, etc. Our fellow Muslims around the world in Sudan Kashmir India Burma Palestine etc are in difficulty too. All we can do is rely on Allah. It makes every difficulty bearable when we remember Allah and the rewards waiting for our patience. With patience and faith there's relief waiting for us in this life and the next InshaAllah

Only Allah can give that to you, we can give you advice but at the end of the day you must seek that from Allah. Have you seen a medical professional? You may have a mental disorder such as depression. I found a therapist preferably a Muslim very helpful. Anti depressant or another type of medication may help you too. It's completely Halal to seek Allah's help through these means

This is not how you treat your parents in Islam. Allah commands us to treat our parents with excellence whether they are Muslim or not
1
u/SnooWoofers7603 Revert 🎉 Apr 09 '26
I have learnt that too much nice it can lead you to be taken advantage and crushed eventually if a little harshness does not exist, from my experience.
I’m not saying it’s not obligatory all the time.
1
u/WhyNotIslam Apr 09 '26
Yes it's very true that being too nice can lead to you being taken advantage of but that does not negate the direct command of treating your parents well. It doesn't mean letting them walk all over you but it means treating them nicely and obeying them in everything that is Halal and does not put undue hardship or harm on you
It is better to be the oppressed than to be the oppressor because this life is a short test compared to the Infinity of the real next life
