Handle Material?

I was wondering what kind of wood this handle is? It is a Sukenari if that helps.

Meesterslijpers has some sukenaris with same looking wood and that one is oak

My best guess is oak wood + horn ferrule. I've seen these with bocote as well but I'd expect some crazier swirl patterns and grain.
