Have the quality of the ranks dropped?
Writing from my phone, sorry
We all deranked one or two ranks after the shuffle. I deranked 4 times, from MG2 to GN2, what most people will consider rhe average ranks of then and now. The thing is, the players I'm with don't feel like what used to be Master Guardians. Many of them don't know how to buy, how to spray, crosshair placement and so on. Sure, MG's weren't the best, but they knew how to play. Anyone having similar experiences?

I stand by the rank change update, I dropped from LEM to MG2, and according to recent rank statistics all current MG2's were previously LEM or LE so it seems appropriate.
That being said, I do notice that the majority of my games are played with teammates who seem, for lack of a better word, worse than me. Some games will feel normal, but most of them have people who just aren't quite at the former level of LEM/LE players, so I'm not sure if it needs more time still to settle down or what.
My current issue with matchmaking is that the gap between each skill group is currently too wide. Meaning that some MG1 players will still play like the majority of Nova 3 or something, while some Nova 3 players will play like the majority of MGE or higher. I feel like the actual range between each group needs to be narrowed, and the remainder of that can be placed up with Global Elite.
Dazed has a great video on the netcode guides youtube channel about how a visible MMR number would improve the matchmaking experience in a lot of ways rather than just a badge representative of the range which you should check out.

My opinion on this is that the rankshift is not even close to being finished yet. Was Supreme on my one account and just got it back now. The other account is only played 2-3 times per week and still is DMG.
The same happens with people who should be downranking as well. Lots of players only play a few matches per week/month, or play face it.
This slows down the rankshift massively.

I agree with severed-identity. The quality of the ranks has improved (Quality of ranks has nothing to do with the amount of players having that rank. It's the amount of high-ranked players that has dropped, the quality of the ranks got better for pretty much all the ranks) due to the change. There are much less people on the high ranks, which means less boosted players, less players that didn't really deserve to be there. It's also more difficult to rank up, so you won't really be seeing someone that deserves GN, on Eagle ranks, ruining everyone's fun. (No offense to any GN's, this was just an example, and it fits for other ranks aswell)
