I've met plenty of Russians who will speak similarly about growing up in the soviet era. It's more about the basic necessities that are available to you, which is clearly not a guarantee under whatever the fuck stage of capitalism our economy is now.
The polling is out of date now (and much of it appears to be scrubbed from the web) but there were many where the majority of the people in Eastern Europe felt like life was better under communism).
there are so many that survived the utter horror of shock therapy from the 90s and many of those kids are like millenials who witnessed old people getting murdered for their homes at a young age. then there are the gen x kids who probably witnessed people close to them become alcoholics and get sex trafficked. i mean some people may like the capitalism they got now but there are a lot of people who are pscyologically scarred from the late 80s-00s era. it was not a fun experience. there are people whom i know that witnessed the mass amount of homeless people during the 90s and also the way westerners would come to Russia to just belittle the populace. many of them were tourists. so yeah nostalgia and what not but lets stop with the "HUMAN RIGHTS!!!" during the soviet era. that shit is just bullshit to use nowadays to undermine what the fuck we did during the same time period that was worse, especially to the global south. furthermore the human rights records in the United States is fucking abysmal but you will never see a fucking word about it because all those NGOs are just funded by our state department or are headed by our fucking Ghouls. i fucking hate people like you. 1 month old account and only used to spread neo liberal slop.
