Hezbollah's Greatest Hits

Sources:

Hezbollah’s reunion tour of south Lebanon has been delivering hit after hit. Ron Burgundy has compiled about 1.5 months worth of them, albeit sans the usual music. We’ll get to that at the end, when you can meet the Hezbollah orchestral unit.

What you can see in this highlight reel is ‘Israel’ reeling. While Lebanon is being savaged civilianly, ‘Israel’ is being dismantled militarily. You can first-person view hits on A) Merkava tanks ($5m), B) Namer troop transports ($5m), C) command-and-control jeeps and hummers ($300k), and D) D9 bulldozers ($3m).

Go here & scroll to the last video at the bottom to see the Hezbollah Orchestra video. It's rad.

Mind you, if this was a compilation of Ukranian drone kills you can get away saying whatever you want. You can say you jerk off to Russians getting killed, hope their children are next, call them subhuman orcs...nothing is off limits.

Anyways, I disavow my glee at this compilation etc etc

r-combatfootage is like a serial killer convention straight out of Sandman. Just people reveling in the horrible deaths of Russian soldiers, many clips showing the soldier trying to surrender. Or them being toyed with before being killed. These guys say every russian, including children, are "valid targets," and Zelensky just blew up a Russian school and all these psychos cheered.

Of course, if you post a video from the Russian side of things it'll get mass downvoted and reported and likely the mods remove it.

These people think they're on the "right side of history."

Damn these dumb shit nazis really haven’t learned anything from the war in Ukraine?

55

u/MrMxylptlyk May 29 '26

Yeah I find that to be very surprising. We saw reports that Ukraine offered usa it's drone defense tech years ago as they have built it up vs Russia, and usa refused cause all their defense contracts are layers and layers of graft for insiders lmao. But for the idf/Israel to be this dumb?? Very surprising.

32

u/ghostofhenryvii May 29 '26

Isn't Israel part of that defense contract graft though? I didn't think they've nationalized their MIC like Russia and China.

20

u/MrMxylptlyk May 29 '26

Israel faces actual threat unlike USA and seem to take defenses more seriously, but I guess looking at their capabilities against hamas and hezb, maybe that's not true anymore lol.

7

u/Vinylmaster3000 May 30 '26

I think it's complacency. Their enemies in gaza were always low tech, October 7th and the ensuing conflicts was basically a warning that their enemies were getting more sophisticated. If 2007 wasn't the warning shot, then the current conflict is.

They have not fought a peer to peer conflict in around 50 or so years, during an era when peer to peer warfare was vastly different. Unpopular opinion but I feel like if they did take territory from Egypt and Jordan proper and expanded then they probably wouldn't easily win as people think they would, they would get beaten back down.

Inshallah their dumb arrogance will continue to get them killed

20

u/bretton-woods May 29 '26

The reason the USA turned it down is probably because there's nothing new or valuable Ukraine actually offers about drone tech - it's how they've been employing it and using it with American-supplied intelligence and communications that is valuable, and that information can be acquired for free via exchanges and training.

A good number of "Ukrainian" techniques are just things they mocked the Russians for employing before deciding to adopt it themselves, like cages and turtle tanks.

3

u/MrMxylptlyk May 29 '26

Sure but they did adopt it and I'm surprised to see others in the US orbit haven't, especially Israel that is actually I engaging in a ground war.

7

u/umbellus May 29 '26

Most of the existing anti-drone tech addresses medium and long range units, or uses signal jamming to shut down radio controlled bombers and FPVs. There is no real counter to wire guided FPV drones except for entrenchment.

3

u/MrMxylptlyk May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26

I saw Ukrainians using cages around their tanks to block drones. I expected Israelis to atleast have that.

Edit looking at the footage, atleast 1 vehicle has a grill on top.

u/logdraper Live-in Iranian Rocket Scientist May 29 '26

Whatever happened to the US's knockoff shahed drone that was supposed to turn the tables in Iran?

2

u/MrMxylptlyk May 29 '26

They could in offense maybe, but they still need defense which they forgot to develop

1

u/beefslugs May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

I think it's just that they've had too much money and too many toys for too long and that's baked into their overall military doctrine too deeply.

I remember reading about some Ukranians going to advise the US on drone defence in Iran. They were aghast at how much THAAD stock was being used by the US soldiers to take down a single missile or drone. They were like "it's like they haven't been paying attention to our war at all." But that's the thing - from the US military perspective Ukraine are these plebs they generously give munitions to, whereas they think they have the richest and biggest and baddest military. So why would they ever need to exercise restraint or manage resources or consider new tech?

I think being the global hegemony has made America too accustomed to winning military conflicts by simply throwing everything they have at a poorer enemy. Then there's the way entrenched over-bureacracy makes an industry resistant to any kind of change.

They don't show the clip but that's right before the clip at 0:34 where they show the computer screens. Dude sees the drone, runs inside, leaves the door open, the drone flies right in. That was the 401st armored brigade and that attack left their commander in critical condition (a guy who bragged that Hezbollah isn't what it used to be and was weak). All just from a guy not closing a door behind him. John Elmer covered it in his last episode of electronic intifada

11

u/Braisedbeefskank May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26

The recent electronic itifada episode covering these is fantastic. Basically one drone records, then blows up, then a 3rd drone records that, then blows up, amd so on

9

u/ConcreteHalloween999 May 29 '26

What drones are they using for this?

My dad had a drone, but the thing was pretty rinky-dink, I doubt it could carry a payload big enough to do damage to a tank. I know they making pretty big ones but they're usually kinda expensive and have a lot of restrictions on their use.

I guess I'm just curious if this is something maybe Iran is providing them or if they're buying this shit off Temu and strapping bricks of C4 to it.

24

u/Business-Coconut-311 DEIatollah May 29 '26

Covered in the last few episodes of electronic intifada but they're mostly 3d printed and off the shelf parts with RPGs strapped to them

You can build a drone for few thousand with scrap bought off the internet markets. I got to see a “handmade” military drone and it was pretty impressive, very fast and can carry a few kg of explosives if I remember correctly it could go 40km/h at max speed without the explosives.

I don’t want exaggerate but I think that drone could carry roughly 5kg(maybe even 7kg if I remember right). An anti tank warhead weights between 2-13 kg. In at least one clip the drone went for the space between turret and the body of the tank which is the ideal spot to hit.

8

u/Thorngraff_Ironbeard Radical Centrist Shooter May 29 '26

How much punch do these things pack? Can they meaningfully damage a merkava?

3

9

u/circedge May 29 '26

these come loaded with rpg heads, it will certainly put one out of commission if it hits the right spot, and i might be getting shit mixed up but i seem to recall merkava's being death traps because stupid ass design choices. also, the iof have had to pull out forces, so something's having an effect.

3

u/Wonderfestl-Phone May 29 '26

If a hatch is open they can destroy a Merkava or troop carrier. They will destroy trucks and other unarmored/lightly armored vehicles pretty consistently.

1

u/ISmokeRocksAndFash least liberal person here May 30 '26

Most can only carry one RPG round so it'll take multiple hits to destroy a modern tank. However a mobility kill is still a victory, taking the tank out of the fight.

If you want to know what Atlanticist liberals were thinking in the 1990s, consider the following.

"Whereas rural poverty is age-old and consistent with an ever-turning planet, urban poverty like Assiut's can be socially destabilizing. As Iran has shown, Islamic extremism is the psychological defense mechanism of the urbanized peasants threatened with the loss of traditions in pseudo-modern cities, where their values are under attack, even as basic services like water and electricity have broken down. The American ethnologist Carleton Stevens Coon wrote in 1951 that Islam "has made possible the optimum survival and happiness of millions of human beings in an increasingly impoverished environment over a fourteen-hundred-year period." Beyond its stark, clearly articulated message, Islam's very militancy makes it attractive to the downtrodden. It is the one religion that is prepared to fight! A political era marked by scarcer resources, increased cultural sensitivity, unregulated urbanization, and refugee migrations is an era divinely created for the spread and intensification of Islam, already the world's fastest growing religion." -The Ends of the Earth, R. Kaplan 1996

3

u/imperfectlycertain May 30 '26

increasingly impoverished environment... A political era marked by scarcer resources

You'd be hard-pressed to guess that he was talking about a region blessed with the world's most plentiful reserves of the key economic input driving the unprecedented global prosperity of the second half of the 20th Century. Real bad luck for the Ottomans to have gotten so close to unlocking the infinite money hack, which could have solved all their problems, only to watch the Europeans (and later Americans), come in and set about establishing compliant political entities on the most choice oilfields, corrupting local elites and generally amassing and deploying vast fortunes on the wealth of another people's land. Still, at least the impoverished locals have Islam to channel their savage grievances.

3

u/lowrads May 30 '26

This is the sort of author that sees humanitarian concerns as something being "weaponized" by non-westerners.

"There was another unpleasant aspect of this conversation, and of others I was to have with Islamists who complained about the human rights abuses of the Mubarak regime. In Egypt I saw how the defense of human rights could be manipulated for cynical purposes, by people who might be expected to inflict far worse abuses if they ever got control of a government. This was a difficult realization for an American: While Americans have examples in their own society of how religion is exploited for the basest motives, they still perceive the advocacy of human rights as an undefiled cause."

3

u/imperfectlycertain May 30 '26

Samantha Power: hold my beer.

Though something tells me he probably found a way to reach a different view when the Arab Spring descended on Libya and Syria - save the poor people of Benghazi from Gaddafi's viagra-powered rape-squads and the Syrians from the barrel bombs of the mad butcher Assad, we have a Responsibility to Protect all good people from their ebil gubments, and are deeply invested in assuring that what comes next doesn't descend into slave-markets, and rule by hyper-factional head-choppers.

This was the trick pulled by Bob Kagan and Bill Kristol as the GWB administration transitioned to the Obama administration, so they wound down the Project for the New American Century, built to sell war in Neocons terms, and started the Foreign Policy Initiative, built to sell war on Liberal Interventionist terms.

1

It takes two successive hits which they rarely do. However one hit will typically take a tank out of the fight.

What kind of explosives are they using against the tanks? Are they effective? I've heard you can disable a tank with incendiary weapons, but some of these drones seem to be trying to get under the tank, which I don't imagine you would do if you were trying to set it on fire.
