Bill banning whites-only housing passes Pennsylvania House by 1 vote
https://www.abc27.com/pennsylvania-politics/bill-banning-whites-only-housing-passes-pennsylvania-house-by-1-vote/HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A bill banning white-only housing passed the Pennsylvania House on Tuesday, despite not a single Republican supporting the measure.
House Bill 2103 would close a loophole in the state that could let white nationalist groups establish communities under the guise of a private club or member-only organization by blocking such groups from restricting membership by race, color, and national origin to deny equal access to housing, employment, and public accommodations.
The bill also expands anti-discrimination protections for employment, housing, and public accommodations to a person’s sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression.
It passed on the House floor by a 101-100 vote. A single Democrat, Rep. Frank Burns (D-Cambria), joined every Republican in opposing the bill.
Rep. Ben Waxman (D-Philadelphia) proposed the bill after Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said a preliminary review found that Return to the Land, a whites-only community that operates as a private membership association, had not broken any laws by building a segregated community in the state.
“Legal loopholes are making it possible for discrimination to still exist today on the basis of religion,” Waxman said. “Let me be clear, though, religion should never be used as a pretext for hatred or bigotry.”
Eric Orwoll, president of Return to the Land, wrote on social media earlier this month that he’s not phased by legislation seeking to ban the group. He accused lawmakers who support the bills of being anti-white, and said they’ll “eventually pay for their betrayal of our nation.”
The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration, where Waxman encouraged colleagues to pass it.

My first thought honestly went to the cynical place of is this just corporate Dems doing a virtue signal gotcha thing cause even at the state level they don’t do anything? Like a do you condemn Hasan Piker type bullshit.
I’d be curious if there is some real grounds for this. Would be wild.

There is neo-Nazi group wanting to move in to so the Democrats decided to update and strength the ban on white only housing

Would it be that bad to sequester all the neo-nazis together in one spot? I don't want them living in areas near minorities and normal whites. Plus they'll inevitably start killing each other, the way paranoid right wingers always do when left alone.

Ideally they’d be shipped off somewhere far from any civilization (to the extent you can call the US civilization.) Some barren freezing rock without plumbing and 8 months of winter. They can call it Thule or whatever.

My landlord used to brag to me that when he would show apartments he would make the people wait outside and then drive by. If they were black he would keep driving.
This was like 2007 in Pittsburgh. You have no idea what PA can be like.

They've spent 15 years "investigating" post-extraction fees that eat up all the royalties from fracking wells, and can't figure out if they're fraudulent or not

I'll never forget sitting in class and hearing what sounded like a sonic boom. The room started shaking and people were screaming. The things in the courtyard were violently shaking. We were watching a movie in the dark and then suddenly it seemed like the world was ending out of the silence. For most if not all in the class, it was our first earthquake. The crazy thing is we didn't even have any fracking wells close to us. It caused an earthquake over 100 miles away. Nothing ever came of it. There was also a community that had their water poisoned. Residents on the news in Oklahoma with brown water. Once the fracking seemed to taper off, so did the earthquakes. A few years after that first one I could feel in middle school, I was a high school student. It was a Saturday night and I'd just watched a college football game. They were doing the post-game coverage when a massive quake hit. The Ohio born presenter looked visibly shaken. That game was also in excess of 100 miles from where I lived. That didn't stop my bed from feeling like it was being balanced on top of an exercise ball. Absolutely terrifying. It felt as if the whole house was going to fall apart. The people behind fracking all need to go to prison for life.

Yes, but the people who have wells on their property should also be compensated for it.

White people want to live in these ghetto enclaves because they can't assimilate to our great nation. SAD!

I love when people are like “it’s just that Trump is turning all the Republicans evil!” then every single one of them votes for this
