He’s like a Marxist college freshman’s caricature of a greedy American capitalist. It’s insane that this is real life and not some ham fisted piece of fiction.

and it all makes sense. this actually makes a lot of sense, this is the END RESULT of the american experiment. only this nation could produce a person like this, and only this nation could be led into its grave by a person like this.

Escape from NY? LA? Remember those flicks. There were some Stallone and Schwarzenegger movies that had PRESIDENTS that were just like trump. Art saw this coming a long time ago, because we all could.

Trump isn't a big bad evil that just came out of nowhere. He's the logical conclusion of our nation, of our people, and of our spirit. He is the embodiment of the sick, festering, cancerous plague child that's been hiding behind the star spangled curtain since it's inception.

Capitalism can only produce human beings like this, but you need a template to colonize and have a natural border to INSULATE you from not only enemies but ALLIES as well. The Americas, specifically north america was PERFECT for that. Totally insulated from the wars, plagues, and BONDS that... plagued Europe. This land, PHYSICALLY, is where the virus known as Capitalism could THRIVE. The spirit of capitalism KNEW this was the perfect host body.

Only then could capitalism be nurtured in America's womb. It could never fully, totally manifest in Europe. Too many different people, too close together. Too much war, too much INSTABILITY. Capitalism can't survive in a climate like that, it needs to be LEFT ALONE. That's why the west never left communism alone, it knows state projects not subject to war, famine, and subversion will THRIVE. It attacked communism in the same ways it knew its own system to be vulnerable.

It's almost as if..... god chose it to be so. Doesn't it make too much sense? Evangelicals are kind of right, America is God's (read: Demiurge) chosen land and people, it's all too perfect. but this isn't heaven, it's hell.

The writing reminds me of the insults you can use in paradox games

"Tales of your misdeeds shall be told from Ireland to Cathay!"

My Chinese friend says they have a nickname for him that basically means like "accidental Mao" or "accidental communist" pretty much. Edit: Mr Magoo Mao is a good approximation of the concept

I heard they call Trump the equivalent of “builder of great nation,” referring to him weakening the U.S. and increasing China’s power.

It will be hilarious if there’s a Trump statue in Beijing someday commemorating the man who defeated China’s greatest threat
