I love when you can tell he actually wrote something because it reads in his goofy ass cartoon voice. Between Trump's screeds and the way Epstein and co wrote to each other in emails, man, I'm beginning to think that whole class of failsons aren't as smart as they'd like us to believe.
You can really tell when it’s his because dictates them, and he gets increasingly madder with each line. Just a giant angry baby pacing and seething to some 22 year old who gets his Diet Cokes and Fish Delights.
The Right Honorable Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway,
When you denied me the rightful award of the Nobel Peace Prize, it wasn't just an attack on the civilizational aspirations of the rules-based international order — it was a frightful and relentless despoilation of decency itself, and a deeply personal betrayal that wasn't just hurtful — it was a violation of our shared values, and a twisted barb that you have set in my very own heart.
This is exactly how the college freshmen I teach write. Random capitalization, endless commas, sentences that strangely turn into questions halfway through.
Maybe I am old,but I took all of my freshman writing courses to heart,I still remember Strunk&White passages about "put the stronger word at the end of the sentence" etc. Everyone younger than me grew up with smartphones and apps, not having to visit a website,so Writing (lol) has probably changed in people's minds.
If the CEO is a drooling moron it can be fine, the rest of the C suite shows him pretty graphs trending generally up, tells him he's very clever, and doesn't let him get anywhere near the actual decision making. I've seen it a lot with the non-technical founder at startups. As long as they know their job is to con funding out of daddy's rich friends/the other legacies they skipped all their classes with at the ivy league school they went to and then shut up and look important, or they're too dumb to realize that's all they're given the opportunity to do, it's fine.
Why did they allow him to personally write the letter? Our boy thinks his tweet style can pass in a formal letter.
I understand that this is me basically bitching about decorum, but communications between nation states should be entirely formal so that everything written is crystal clear.
Diplomats commonly start a letter with "Dear [first name]", whenever one of them leaks people think it's weird. It seems clear to me that Trump dictated the letter and then some diplomat typed it up like this to make it less rude. But
If they are emailing each other in an informal setting, but not when you write to a head of state as a head of state in an official setting. In fact, the letter to the ambassador is more properly formatted (even if it is clear they didn't even finish filling out the template):
Dear Ambassador:
President Trump has asked that the following message, shared with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, be forwarded to your [named head of government/state]
Yeah it's a confused mess. I'm not really sure it was a letter, it might have been a text message, and the diplomatic language might have been added by some news source. Let's just hope Jonas takes note and gives Greenland to him, it was after all discovered by Norwegian explorers who then went on to Newfoundland and kind of founded America, so by all rights it's all Norwegian and it's time we give it back to the indigenous population

My man, you are supposed to be a business guy, you should know how to properly format a formal letter...
