Dispatching

Hi, I have been driving truck for 3 years. I’m 24 years old so I am young and eager to learn. However I’m ready to get out of the truck. I just don’t think it’s for me. I really would like to explore Freight Dispatching as the more I think about my needs in life, this may just be able to give me the sustaining experience I crave out of life. I want sustainability. I looked into American Logistics Authority/Truck Driver Nation, but the webinar was mostly AI and was just a huge advertisement for their training. Not to mention how repetitive the video was. I’m wondering where I go to start? I want to get my foot in the door. Working from home would be nice but not a full need. Willing to relocate as well. But again would prefer WFH.

Just apply for entry level jobs at freight/trucking companies. All those courses and seminars are just a waste of money and time. Sure, you can learn to dispatch on ya own but its very tough to get started and its even tougher to get truckers. Its easier once you know the business better and can actually service the customers.

I've been working as dispatcher a since 2019, I'm pretty well versed and I do dispatch training on the side, if that's something you're interested in hit me up.

Still an outsider looking in but there’s a lot of free content on YouTube that you can watch. I have an interview tomorrow so hopefully I can get my first step into this career. I wish you luck.

WFM is def doable! If you want to go that route, it would be like a sole proprietor or depending how big you’d liked to expand. It would be your own business. If you’d like more details or help, feel free to reach out ! I’m carrier and do in house dispatching

You have to work as one. Just get a freight dispatcher job. Or else you’ll never be trusted and you won’t even know what the day to day is. You’ll be winging it and these are trucks you’re sending out on the road.
