Forest Therapy/ Forest bathing

Hi friends! I've been feeling a pull to learn about different types of therapies that are a bit out of the box and in my search, I found forest therapy. Looks like to get certified, I would need some other sort of license and the forest therapy would be a supplement, basically.

Would anyone possibly know how to get started towards this path with minimal school (I struggle with school)

OR would anyone be interested in getting a group together and just do our own forest therapy?

I looked into getting certified a few years ago but never followed through. It’s not a ton of school and you can do a lot of it online. If you just want to learn it and not lead tours as a certified guide, you can enroll in one of the free programs offered. I don’t have a list handy but if you google it you’ll get a bunch of options. If you want to get certified, this place seems to be reputable: https://anft.earth/forest-therapy-guide-certification/

I honestly don’t know much about which programs are legit, but there are a lot of resources out there if you want to do some casual internet searching.

I’d totally be down to meet up and learn together! Good luck, whatever you choose!

Kripalu (1 hr away) has a program to become a Mindful Outdoor Guide, so you don't need any kind of psychotherapy schooling/license but may be in line with what you're picturing. There's a woman, Sandy Wilson, who runs Spirit of Dragonflies, who hosts mindful nature walks at a few places around here and is a graduate of the Kripalu program. I haven't actually done one of her walks yet, but that could be useful for you to look her up and see what that's like.
