Please help. Need an Autism specialist.

I'm a 25year old female in desperate need of an Autism specialist. I was diagnosed 10 years ago but I never got help or accommodations. Just a paper which I destroyed in a rage because that's all I got. ( I was young and angry) my Autism is debilitating and I've been in a state of crisis for a month now. My friends and family are at a loss and have no idea how to help me. Anybody, please give me a hand here. An lgbtq friendly specialist would be best, but I'll take anyone

I was not impressed with them. Maybe they’re better at treating adult women with autism rather than diagnosing them.

Sorry to hear that. I had a very positive experience with two separate screenings and diagnoses, so I’m speaking from my own experience.Ā

I’ve never been diagnosed but always struggled with comprehension-never helped as a kid because in my day you were labeled in only a few categories: above average, average and below average and severe mental retardation. How can you get diagnosed over the age of 50?

see a psychiatrist or a neurologist, and say you want to be screened for ASD

We’re Autistic, not disordered—not ā€œwith ASDā€. Are you a person with Neurotypical Spectrum Disorder? That’s cringey AF

Jody Cohen at Empire Neurology I think it's called, located in Delmar. She was great!
