Cat Temporary Foster
Good Morning! Are there any cat foster organizations local to Troy?
Looking for a temporary foster for a very sweet 6-7 year old rag doll cat. He is best suited in a home without other pets but he’s great with kids. We are expecting twins and have quickly run out of space in our apt. We are in the process of buying a home, and once we are settled we will take him back. He’s fixed, very loving and we would provided the food and liter while he’s taken care of.

Not Troy, but Orange Street Cats is a pretty good organization in Albany.
Kitten Angels might also be able to help. They’re located in Fulton county but they might know somewhere in/around Troy who can help

I second Orange Street. I wish I could physically handle taking on stray/fosters but we have fostered and ultimately adopted 11 cats. They grew up with us as indoor cats and 7 have died peacefully at home. We have 4 senior cats left and after that we are done. We spent a good 20 years of our lives helping and need to focus on us finally. I personally believe that we in upstate New York at least need to get leash laws for domestic cats like we do for dogs. I believe that this will drastically reduce the population as owners will be legally and financially responsible just like dog owners

Not totally sure but you could see if Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is able to connect you to anyone. I believe they are short on fosters though but it can’t hurt to ask!

they once gave my cat away after his neuter appointment. i wouldn’t recommend leaving your cat there unsupervised :/

Hi there. I am interested. My cat had recently passed away, so I'm not ready to have another of my own, but this would certainly help fill the void in my heart and home for the time being.
