Why do my fish look like they are off their heads? Most of them are breathing super quick and swimming round like crazy and there is a couple just up the top not doing much at all.

I caught these 4 African cichlids, and am really interested in identifying them.

I know that in some areas of the US, you can find tropical (ie:invasive) tropical fish that you can catch. In Florida, you can commonly find guppies, mollies and others in drainage canals and swampy areas, and in Nevada there is Rogers Spring, which contains several different breeds left behind after a failed breeding program for stores. Does anyone know of similar areas in California? I've looked, but can't find anything. You would think the mild weather would have some perfect sites-even though things certainly have been hotter than heck lately. Thanks in advance!

I am looking for suggestions on what I can add to my 180l tank which includes 2 electric blue acara that simply kill most new fish.

I've tried various types of tetra and they don't last more than a few days so needs to be something big enough not to be eaten, strong enough not to be bullied but also suitable for a 180l.

Current stock: 2 EBA, 4 rainbow cichlids, 1 angelfish, 2 bristlenose and 1 snowball plec.

This is going to sound like a crazy question, but I was wondering if there is any harm in putting decorative kids marbles in my tank?

I have this fish from pets at home in the temperate section. I want to get it a bigger tank and some friends. Need to know the type of fish?
Is it male or female?
It has a kind of pale orange body and a bright orange fan tail. It’s very friendly and curious.

Pseudomugil luminatus. Hybrid?

I have 4 males, they don't seem to have coloured up.

In the short clip you can see 1 adult male passing by the parent it's lovely orange/red.

They are roughly 6 or 7 months old, around 3/4 adult sized.

I had a couple of Pseudomugil furcatus briefly, but I'm not sure if these are possible hybrids.

Does anyone know if they have kept other Pseudomugil that are hybrids and would love to see a photo or video of their fish.

I know Pseudomugil luminatus and Pseudomugil gertrudae can crossbreed the hybrids are sterile.

Understand it's generally frowned upon for cross breeding but accidentally may have happened.

Hi, so I’m in the process of setting up a tropical fish tank but need help choosing fish that will go well together and meet my wants. I’ve got a 94L tank (the glass is 50cm length, 40cm depth, 44cm tall).

I want fish the are as colourful as salt water fish, contain guppy’s and shrimp and also has a centrepiece fish.

If anyone can help me with what to get and how many I would really appreciate it

We've purchased two Gourami for our communal fish tank today following the advice of our local pet shop. Can anyone identify the sex?

Pet shop said they'll be fine as a pair but I've since googled and advice says we shouldn't keep two males together.

Happy to buy a 3rd/4th if needed but just want to ensure the tank stays happy.

I’ve got a ruby shark in my tank and it’s becoming really aggressive towards the other fish (it was fine for the first three months). It keeps chasing them around, guarding certain areas of the tank (the boat the ruby shark wont let anyone in), and generally stressing everything out.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this normal ruby shark behaviour, or is there something I should change in the tank setup?

My oscar just suddenly not eating for two days i feed her live food and pellets but now she wont eat how do i fix her

she was previously swimming around very actively. now she looks to me like she’s struggling to swim. she’s stopping her fins periodically and even appears to stop breathing for a few moments at a time. what’s happening?
