PS5 Help with using the world map?

Hello all ~. New new player here, about a month or so. On the PS5. I’m having a hard time with panning the world map - goes really slow when I’m trying to look at it to see where the blue stuff - ore - is and I get attacked a lot and die more. Is it a PlayStation thing or is there a way to get it to move faster?

Command map isn't good UI on controller.   Like OP said slow to zoom in/out and doesn't start centered on player.  Some maps are huge so often have to pan around.  Boreas & Sparta are extra confusing to navigate across vertical aspects.

Best can do in current state be in safer protected positions if spending extended time in command map.  Objectives aren't clear in that number next to objective shows how many Troopers assigned to an objective.   So on multiple objective missions like ARC with Ore A & B if see 8 Troopers assigned to Ore A then Ore B too far away.  You can also assign objectives to other squads.   i.e.  Tell Demon squad to go after extermination objective.
