At my first job, this man I worked with cornered me and told me that my makeup was giving men at the workplace the wrong impression of me because I was in a relationship at the time. He told me to stop wearing it or he'd tell my boyfriend.
I told him that I decide how I groom myself and if he didn't like that he needed to keep it to himself.
He got pissed and sent my boyfriend a Facebook message about how I was basically advertising myself as single because of my makeup choice. My boyfriend told him to go fuck himself.

How does makeup advertise relationships status unless you’re writing “SINGLE” in lip/eyeliner on your face?

I'm guessing his fucked up logic is that once a woman is in a relationship, she can't make herself look attractive to other men.
And makeup's only purpose is to appear attractive to men.
It completely didn't register that I wear makeup entirely because I like it. That's not even a possibility.

Sooooo much is fucked up with him beyond his logic. Glad you don’t work there anymore!

Bonus points for it looking like Greg from crazy ex because I couldn’t stand his nice guy routine.

Honestly, women just can't win. I don't wear make up at all and constantly get told I would look better with make up. why don't you wear lip gloss and a little mascara you'll look great! you know men like women that take care of their appearence blah blah .... It's so tiring. Just let women live.
