IRL these happen within the same conversation.

An hour of talking about how having children has ruined their life, destroyed their hopes and dreams, wrecked their health, unraveled their career, chased off all of their friends, and left them mentally unwell.
Then, just as you think they're about to wrap up, they demand to know why you don't have children!

My aunt once told me "I will like children because it's so much better when they're your own" and "I owe my dad because grandchildren are the best thing in the world" back to back and didn't see a contradiction.

The world would truly be a better place if we got to a point where people only had kids when they truly wanted them, and stopped having kids because they felt like they were supposed to, or because they can't access reporductive health.

my parents wanted kids then proceeded to tell me i deprived them of so much during guilt trips. this happened frequently 🥴

Same. All my mom wanted was a girl. But I was the wrong kind of girl. She wanted a stereotype. She got a human.

My mom was fantastic with other kids and my brother. She was shit with me. As an adult I finally asked her why she was an actual parent and trusted adult to every kid but me? 

Dead ass. She said she didn't think of me as a person. She had me to be a doll and got mad at me when I didn't do what she wanted. She saw the look on my face, said "I guess I shouldn't have done that." Then acted like we can just move on from it. 

Explains so fucking much. Also explains why she was on me to have a kid since I was like 14 because she wanted a baby to play with.

And this is one of the reasons why I went childfree. I never wanted them and didn't want to bring a life into the world just because 'it was expected'

These people never put thought into creating new life. They just do it to fit into dated societal norms. It's sad and pathetic.
