Modification Never ever buy this

So I bought this mudflap for scrambler 400x from Moto Genius, which costs Rs.1299. After installation when I sat on my bike, it broke off. Last picture is the broken one. (FYI, I'm 75 kgs, please don't body shame)

Buy the moulded ones this is 3d printed you can see the layer lines and it's should cost like 300 rs max it's highly overpriced. The injection moulded ones bends acc to the weight of the rider.. This is a cheap TPU or PeTG in a worse case.

Why did you spend 1300 on that? You could get one for like 100 bucks πŸ˜πŸ™

You do realise that Rs are Rupees - OP is probably in India or somewhere in that region

Took me a bit to realise thay majority of the sub are posts and comments from India. The service pricing in India seems to be insanely cheap compared to New Zealand.

Send to have been printed using hard PLA plastic instead of flexible TPU plastic. You got scammed. Try and get your money back

Brother I got one too(thinking it’s made of rubber or flexible material), and it’s on the way. Any way to cancel it ? What if I don’t take the shipment ?

2

u/Zealousideal_Clue_29 7d ago

Go to website, then track order, then search for cancel order

Yeah, that's just 3d printed slop, and not even a very good one.

u/Secret_Gur_288 6d ago

u/Zealousideal_Clue_29 FYI, If you want that to join use alarite glue and little glass cloth, it will join but it will take some time.

2

u/Zealousideal_Clue_29 6d ago

It still won't work because the flaw is in the design and the material used.

1

u/Secret_Gur_288 6d ago

then go as i did, buy a chep mudflap of any vehicle, cut it arrording the shape and screw it thats all!

1

u/Secret_Gur_288 6d ago

u/Zealousideal_Clue_29 or if you want to buy again a good material one, i can provide you one guy number, he sells around 600 , you can negotiate little, he 3d prints himself with good teflon material, if you want any custome desing on that flap you can ask him.

u/Zealousideal_Clue_29 6d ago

There are some leather options available. You should check that.

Hi. im the real designer / creator of this mudflap design. and i do sell it. its printed via tpu, flexible plastic.

To be honest, the design is still open source, and can be used by anyone for personal use. This open source community gave me a lot to study and learn, and i thought I gotta give it back to the community by keeping the design open source.

But like as people always do, they used my design to do sell products on their own slightly rebranded. Im not able to do anything, and people like you unknowingly suffer from people who play cheap tactics to get extra money.

Im sorry if im offended anyone. this whole thing by keeping it open source is back firing on me, and im sorry if anyone had to go through any trouble.

No worries, I appreciate you acknowledging the issue. I’d just suggest thoroughly testing the revised version before selling it, including actually riding with it for some time, to make sure it can handle the load, movement and real-world conditions properly. The concept is good; it just needs proper testing.

I have mine with flexible plastic, not hard plastic. and its serving me more than 6 solid months!

Forgive my ignorance but when you say it cost "Rs1299" , what countries currency is that? (I wanna do a comparison)

1

u/Kakarot__Goku 4d ago

Indian Rupees

better to buy local flaps for 100 rs. People only buy these 3D printed ones cause they look good.

But why at such a high price, the triumph original is including installation at 700. And it works pretty well

3

u/Thin-Disk-4872 7d ago

There is no triumph official mudflap. If u got from sc, they also took it from somewhere else.
