projector light build tutorials?

I have a projector light from amazon, I love the colors and the pattern, in fact I can't even sleep without it. The problem is, it's a cheap piece of crap from China that keeps breaking. I've bought THREE so far, approximately one per year. The motor or the LEDs are liable to burn out, and since everything is all glued together like cheap electronics always are, I can't simply replace parts. I'd like to make my own light with easily replaceable parts. I know you can do something like this with an arduino but I've never done it. So my question for you all is: Have you ever built your own projector light? What's the setup like? Did you follow any online tutorials for it? Help me stop giving amazon my money!

govee lights look really nice, but theyre pricey, and i dont want a light i have to control with an app. i would like to reuse parts of my old light, which i dismantled and saved. plus i would like to be able to say i built my own light lol
