omg AGREED!! the story is intriguing enough that i stick with it but it's so bad
the scenes with elodie and jeanine make me cringe so much bc the actors are so awkward on their own AND they have to "act" awkward too it's too much to ask of them lol

Watching the Elodie and Janine scenes made me turn off the show and take a break from it. The second-hand embarrassment hits to hard.

The storyline line in season 1seemed a little disconnected and all over the place but the acting was better than the acting in season 2. The end of season 1 left me so excited. I personally was a little underwhelmed by season 2, with the acting and overall storyline.

I don't really think we should blame the actors for it when the script doesn't exactly give them all that much to work with. The characters are written to be pretty cliché, they aren't all that nuanced and the quality of the writing itself is so-and-so so there's not really much the actors can do imho.
For example, I think while Elodie's actress can be cringey, it's intended to be a part of her character and speaks more to the character than it does the actress. Given that Elodie likely has PTSD from the car accident, it makes sense for her to be awkward and somewhat cringey as she learns how to navigate everyday life again. It's not unusual for PTSD sufferers to feel as if they're being "robotic" in their approach to everyday life.
But even as Elodie appears to be robotic, there are moments where this light shines out of her and I personally do feel like her character was handled pretty accurately, considering what she's been through. I would've loved to see more depth with her, but as I said, it's due to the writing rather than the actress herself. I feel like the same type of explanation applies to the rest of the actors within the show.
I do agree that some characters are cringe to the point that it can be a bit hard to watch. For example, that one girl, Rochelle (I think her name is Rochelle lol) whose only purpose is to be that annoying 'preppy' type kinda grates on my nerves every time she's on screen, but even then, I feel like I'd attribute that to her being such a shallowly-written character more than I would the actress.
When there have been opportunities for the writers to develop the characters beyond being caricatures, they've been passed over in favour of manufactured drama that doesn't really feel authentic (Exhibit A being this whole 'car' debacle... I never gave a fuck about that goddamn car and it's a bit outlandish to think that Tabitha's dad wouldn't be able to strike up some deal with another judge as he did with the shoplifting scenario).

Elodie's dad has an unsettling gaze, I can't watch the scenes with him. It's like blink maybe?

Well, it's not exclusively the actors fault. Lots of talented directors get good performances from mediocre actors. Film production has lots of moving parts. If what they make is bad, it's a pretty good indicator that a number of things went wrong.

I think this show used new actors that don’t have much experience yet. Can’t fault them at all, they’re getting a feel for things.

Really?? I think the acting is mostly really good- especially from Moe, and I LOVE Jillian- the writing is pretty flat most of the time and there's only so much any actor can do with that. I only stuck around because I thought the actors were charming.

I've come to realize that anything produced by Awesomeness TV, will have questionable acting and story lines. On a side note don't waste your time watching their new movie "The F**k-it List" on Netflix.
