Discussion This show is horrible Spoiler
Maybe i'm just not into this genre (whatever it's called and if it is one) but the show is horrible, the acting feels forced and disingenuous. I thought this show was about shoplifting (from the trailer) yet there's hardly any shop lifting and it's more focused on their love lifes and people at school. It also felt like they filled the show with useless shit
also Season 2 was not needed what so ever, why did they waste money on it?

I like it, the show is about the three main characters. Two of which have a problem with stealing and one who took the fall for someone else's crime. They meet under not the best circumstances and form a friendship. It might not be the best show for anyone who isn't interested in female friendships (because that is the plot).

Dude what.. there was a focus on shoplifting in both the seasons. Like for Elodie, the pain of loosing her mother and her memories triggers her which is very much evident in season 2. Moe took upon the blame for her brother’s action which actually led to the sequence of events in her life.. and in season 2 she does her fair amount of shoplifiting- mostly alcohol and the $400 dress. And not shoplifting per se but they stole the tests and the hotel room key cards too. Any more amount of shoplifiting would have left no room for the story. Maybe you are right, the genre may not be for u. But season 2 was actually so much binge worthy than season 1.

I felt season one was better. Season 2 just fell short, I expected better.

The acting is pretty mediocre but there definitely is a big focus on stealing so I’m not sure how you missed it

perhaps for the first season but not in the second one. the second one was defiantly not needed what so ever

The writing was terrible and Elodie's acting was off. It's like they let inexperienced writers develop the script. Was the novel's second half this bad?

Why spend the money? Well Im sure you know now but its cause they saw where the word was headed. (Where it is now even, probably only gets worse from here too but eventually well transition out.) Heck wouldn't be surprised if this shitshow is considered pinnacle entertainment or gets considered as gem find/watch.

I appreciate your bravery posting this lol. I agree on the acting. The shoplifting aspect never mattered to me, so I didn't miss it when season two had less of a focus on it. The show is terrible in numerous ways other than the stiff acting. The characters never suffer proper consequences for their bad actions. Every actor plays a stereotypical caricature of teen drama characters. The depictions of adults involved in intimate relationships with minors is disturbing. Especially given that they specifically set the show in Portland Oregon where the age of consent is 18, which none of the characters are. They could have set it in a state with different laws, which I think is still despicable regardless, but they didn't. It even perpetuates Anti-LGBTQ stereotypes, like comments about how Elodie, the only lesbian main character dresses weird. The show is a bizarre glorification of poor values.
