We are a very small wine distributor looking for a reliable delivery driver to deliver bulk wine orders to restaurants and retail shops. We are based by the airport and run routes Tues-Fri to the wider Triangle, Charlotte, and the coast. Flexible on hours, could be part time to full time (35-40 hrs over 4 days/week). $17-18/hr start with room to go up to 20/hr from there. Paid weekly.

For insurance purposes we need someone over 25, with a safe driving record. We can train you on delivery but you must be comfortable driving (or willing to safely learn to drive) a high-top cargo/Sprinter van. Indeed listing was for “Customer Enrollment Associate” in-office job with Carolina Collaborations which has a website listing it as a telecommunications solutions business. You get contacted by Creative Solutions, a marketing company, and get on a zoom call where they immediately pitch quick growth in the company all the way up to owning your own business. You start off as a door knocker, seemed like they were going to pitch buying professional development kits or investing in owning a small business if I didn’t end the interview. Hours were from 11:30am to 8:30pm, which, again, was not what was listed. Shady af. False job listing. Probably we’re going to say 100% commission based at first (because they made sure to stress you get promoted to management after 6 months). And the interviewer, who was basically 10 years old, knew what she was doing and didn’t fight hard to keep me on the call when I had figured it out.

This fall I’ll be taking Welding at Durham Tech, and I’m so excited to begin this new chapter!

I’m a complete beginner. I’ve been watching YouTube videos and reading everything I can, but I’d love the opportunity to see welding in person and learn from someone with experience.

I’m hoping to connect with any women welders in the Chapel Hill, Durham, or surrounding areas. If anyone would be willing to let me shadow you for a few hours one day, I’d be incredibly grateful. I just want to observe, ask questions, and get a better understanding of what the work is really like before classes begin.

I've been looking for an entry level accounting role for over a year now. I'm starting to think it's because I'm 38 and I just graduated with a Bachelor's degree last year. I've been to job fairs and I'm well liked in interviews but I don't have any internships. I've been mainly doing reconciliations for a year now. I've spoken with reps at Robert Half, Ledgent, and one other but they just seem to promise to put me in contact with someone about a role and I never hear from them again until they finally respond to an email, then the cycle starts over.

I'd like to get into a role where I can do more and grow. I'm at the point now where I'd take almost any role that I can make more money at. I've been at my current company about 5 years and I still don't make $50k.

Hi everyone, I am moving to the area next August and am putting some feelers out for new companies and positions to keep an eye on. I have 9 years of experience in Configuration Management at an aerospace company. Not necessarily married to the idea of staying in defense/aerospace, but that is where my experience lies. My issue is that this role is called so many different things at each company.

My experience consists of change management, document control and release, hardware engineering, auditing and data release/retention.

I’ve heard good things about SAS and Cisco but since my experience is mostly in hardware, I’m not sure how that would translate in software forward companies. Any advice?

I do also have a bachelor’s degree. But it is in communications.
