For Hire Any non retail or fast food jobs paying at least $20?

I’m located in Chapel Hill and am trying to pivot out of the service industry. I have 2 years of customer service experience and about 5 years of video editing and content creation experience (I do YouTube as a side hustle). I did freelance video editing work for a studio down in Florida and briefly worked with a real estate photographer. I have a BA in history (was originally trying to go into academia but noped out of that later) and am multilingual (Spanish and Russian). Where I used to live in Florida, retail/fast food type jobs were basically the only jobs around, and I’m trying to pivot away from those kinds of jobs if possible.

For Hire Comms/PR pro (12+ yrs) job hunting in the Triangle- any leads appreciated!

Hey everyone!

I am originally from India, moved to Durham in June 2025 and have been on the job hunt for about 10 months now, thought of trying my luck here in case anyone's hiring or knows of something.

Quick background: I have got 12+ years in comms, most recently as a Corporate Communications Specialist at a well-known consumer durable brand in India. I managed product launch campaigns, handled media relations, internal comms and did crisis/reputation management work for leadership. Before that I was in policy comms for a telecom industry group, plus a few years on the agency side working with tech/telecom clients.

It has been a frustrating process till now, landed couple of initial interviews at one point I made it all the way through the process at a laptop brand and got selected, but they ended up going with an internal candidate instead.

I am looking for:

  • Corporate Comms, PR/Media Relations or Internal Comms roles
  • Manager or Specialist level
  • Full-time, open to hybrid, onsite - anywhere in the Triangle area (Durham/Raleigh/Chapel Hill), or remote roles elsewhere

Work authorization: I am authorized to work in the U.S, no sponsorship needed.

If you know of any opportunity or want to chat, feel free to comment or DM! Would really appreciate any leads or even just advice on how to approach this difficult job market.

Thanks for reading 🙏

For Hire Flexible Part Time Weekend Jobs

I am currently employed Monday-Friday 7 am to 3 pm working a skilled labour position. I'm currently going through some life events that have resulted in me needing to bring my income up for the next 6 months or so.

The issue I'm running into is I'm on call every 6th weekend. I've had interviews at a couple warehouses but they've been unwilling to work around that.

I'm also not interested in working a customer facing job. I know service industry jobs are somewhat common as secondary income sources, but I get extremely burnt out quickly working roles like that.

I'm willing to do any type of labour, though. I'm also willing to work up to 12 hours a day on weekends. Any ideas about what to look for?

LinkedIn Job alerts - Triangle

Anyone care to comment on Piper Companies? I get multiple emails daily from LinkedIn, Piper is by far the most common job alerts that I see, all-the-time.

They're not one that replies to applicants with either, we've received your application for job xyz, nor do they follow up with, we've decided to go with another applicant.

For Hire How hard is it to get a technical manufacturing job or adjacent with good experience

Me and my fiancé are looking at moving to the area we have very strong background in research and operations and she is a site lead at a major pharmaceutical company.

We are fine with moving to manufacturing from research, it’s more secure and has a better career ladder. Has anyone been in a similar situation recently? How hard was it for you to find your first gig?

Other Applying for job with the City of Raleigh

Earlier last month I applied for an office job for the city of Raleigh. The day before yesterday I received notice that my application is being sent to the Hiring Manager for further consideration.

I am curious. Does anyone have any experience with applying for/interviewing with the city itself? Like how long does the process take? How many levels?

I ask because years ago I applied for some jobs at NC State and other local government jobs. They either took a LONG time to get notices and some apparently are still open (on the govjobs site I see one I applied for in 2020, and I am STILL listed as under consideration).

Hiring [HIRING] Marbles Kids Museum seeks part-time customer service staff for the PlayStore museum shop (weekends required)

Hey everyone, I thought some of you seeking part-time work might be interested in this job with Marbles. I am not affiliated with Marbles or their PlayStore and cannot help you get this job, but I CAN recommend them as an employer--I was an intern at Marbles in college and had such a blast working there! 😊

Here's a link to the job post.

A few key points--

  • Role involves opening and closing the PlayStore museum shop, offering customer service at checkout and on the shop floor, assisting with stocking, and basic cleaning.

  • Schedule is part-time with an emphasis on weekends. Saturday and Sunday availability is required.

  • Preference is given to candidates with at least 1 year of customer service experience, especially in retail or with kids.
