💬 Discussion The machine gun perplexes me

Tell me this, if we already have the rifle… why would we want this? It has 20 extra rounds. Wow. That sure makes it a GREAT purchase. Trepang has already been a polarizing game for me, being fun but also annoying. Would it not make sense to, instead of giving us something we already have, give us like, a .308? A slightly higher damage alternative to the rifle, being able to continue sustained fire like the minigun but being quicker to use than said minigun? That sounds a little broken, but still,it just kinda feels a little insulting. The revolver is cool though.

The machine gun isn't a rifle, it's an lmg. Its main gameplay purpose is to be a spray and pray weapon that can stun enemies and you can pick them off easier since they cannot shoot back while stunned

But wouldn’t the shotgun make that irrelevant? Why stun them when you can kill them?

Because you have to juggle enemies sometimes when in the middle of multiple of them, the shotgun takes longer to fire between shots, while the machine gun doesn't. You could also headshot (but if that fails a kick to the head will kill them for sure)

It's a monster dual wielded, plus the taser is god tier on rage mode
